A2300 Blinkies

New Canon user, has noticed that the PowerShot A2300 in histogram view, some of the highlights of image once per second blink. This is not mentioned in the manual. Is this a feature or a bug?

It flashes to indicate that the region of the image is over-exposed. This is a very useful feature for the user to know if exposure is too bright.

  • Screen freezes and blinks after the update to 10.11.6

    Hello!

I have a Macbook Pro for mid-2007, which has helped a lot, was powerful and as stable as steel. I've never had or known major bugs since I have. Leopard 10.5 aka El Capitan 10.11.5, nothing to notice. The usual Mac you need: solid, stable and fast. I have an IntelCore 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM, Samsung SSD 840 series, the old Fujitsu HDD for storage and a Nvidia GeForce 8600 M GT graphics chipset.

But the nightmare started when install the last update of El Capitan: OS 10.11.6. Update was fast enough, just half an hour, and I'm going, with the last update. I was browsing Safari then my screen blinked once, and all that was displayed was frozen, except the mouse I could be moved. 10 seconds or about later, my system of defrost and I could use it. Until less than a minute later, new flashes and freeze again. And he began to be more bizarre than ever: Safari window displaying strange patterns, with little colored squares, bar menus, very noisy. Hard, I rebooted my Macbook Pro, hoped it was just a random bug. But no, it has reproduced, forever and ever, when browsing in Safari. So I decided to switch to Opera web browser just for a test day. And... nothing happened. No bugs, no frost, no flashing screens. I found the source of this Safari bug, so I went to the opera.

Until yesterday, when you use the Finder to display images using Quicklook. Flashes and the gel. When you are using TweetDeck, same result, flashes & freeze. Even if you use Opera when scrolling too fast: flashes and the screen. When you use presentation and Launchpad. And if this bug to reproduce twice, the display shows a strange patterns, such as Cup-a part of windows, bar menu invisible, etc..

It's VERY BORING. It is the first time in 8 years of work with Mac OS X, I have experienced this kind of graphic bug. The last time I encounter some bugs graphics but much more discreet, and it's in 2008 with OS 10.5.3, which was not very stable (the next version is much more stable).

I know this has something to do with the Nvidia driver. The same lines are appearing in the newspapers when the bug happens, like this:

    > 31/07/2016 10:50:47, 000 kernel [0]: NVDA (OpenGL): exception channel! exception type = 0xd = graphic engine (GR error 5) error

I don't want to hear that this has something to do with the graphic chipset, because before the 10.11.6 updated, I had NO gel or flashes of the screen at all. I had never actually had. And the motherboard has been replaced in 2010 because the chipset was dead.

So, I don't know what to do. I guess I'll have to wait a few months the 10.11.7 next update, hoping that he can solve the display bug. And I wouldn't be able to install Sierra because... Well, my Macbook Pro is too old, so I'm stuck with El Capitan (but that's another story).

Thanks in advance if you have any tips that might help.

It is difficult to say if this is indeed caused by the last update or a (chance) sign is not material. You might be able to work around the problem by installing the gfxCardSatusand forcing your MacBook to use the GPU integrated or discreet, but not automatically switch between them.

There is a flashing light on my toolbar, and sometimes a blinking black box appears on Yahoo News. I tried to reset Firefox and that has not worked. Then, I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and I still have the seizure inducing flashing lights.

In the case where this is caused by 33 incompatible Firefox with your software driver graphics card/chipset, could test you for a while in Mode without failure of Firefox? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable extensions, hardware acceleration, and a few other advanced features of Firefox. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still works

After stops in Firefox, a small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).

    Any difference?

You can disable hardware acceleration for all modes in the Options dialog box.

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

This takes effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it again.

  • Blinking cursor in line while scrolling

This problem has happened since I downloaded Firefox a few days ago. My problem is that when I scroll, a cursor blinking line thing or whatever is called spoil my scrolling to the bottom of pages. Instead the page just a little more each time I push the bottom and to the top of the arrow keys on my keyboard, the page instead jumps just at the top or bottom and every time he jumps, that thing little blinking line is still there (when I say "this thing little flashing line" I mean this flashing line that is always there when you) type something.). I have no idea how disable it (and Yes, I tried pushing the F7 key) and the thing becomes angry and I can't scroll pages of my site because of it. Anyone have any ideas?

Hello Nickc15, if you can leave caret browsing through the F7 key, tell him instead: enter on: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named accessibility.browsewithcaret. Double-click it, change its value to false and restart the browser eventually.

  • FaceTime Camera: the green light next to the camera makes a slow blink, and there is no picture

MacBook (retina, 12 inch, early 2015) El Capitan 10.11.5 now ongoing enforcement.

Whenever I try to access the camera FaceTime (FaceTime, Photo Booth Apps) the green light next to the camera made a slow blink, and there is no picture.

The system report > camera > model ID: Apple camera VendorID_0x106B ProductID_0x1570

The numbers of the vendor and the product are correct?

The camera worked for 6 months passed and I used FaceTime several times without problem.  Several users are affected.

None of the recent changes to the system.

Since the problem began, I have:

    (1) installed Skype to see if one application other than an Apple app had a camera problem. Skype has no camera or.

    (2) improved 10.10.4 to El Capitan Yosemite.  Hoping that the upgrade would reload the application Face Time.   No change in symptoms

    (3) reinstalled the El Capitan using the OS X Internet recovery.  I have not used the time Machine.

(Note for everyone, it was simple and painless and does not need to reinstall applications.)  I want to reinstall MS OS was too simple)

    (4) several other threads suggested to reset NVRAM and SMC memory, even if they do not seem to be associated with the prob. who - without success here tried either

Any advice to determine whether it is hardware or software?  Still dig while you wait for a response.

Note: This problem is not resolved

  • blinking solid line cursor used to scroll

This happened first with Aurora... My cursor flashing continuous line to scroll the page, when I press the down button on my keyboard.

Really annoying, makes it hard to scroll etc.

installed firefox instead, worked a few weeks later he developed the same problem.

I ignored it for a few months until a new problem arose. The blinking cursor to line sold will not scroll through my favorite site! other than the tabs at the top and at the bottom of the site (webmaster etc.) IT won't do scroll down the Web page... jumps just from the top down.

I downloaded and installed firefox Beta, hoping a different version might fix the problem as it did before.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox, if possible, the settings in the software security and cleaning of the Windows registry.

    • Do NOT remove the data personal when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because all profile files will be deleted and you will lose all personal data such as bookmarks and passwords from other versions of Firefox profiles.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but make sure that 'delete personal data' is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

If you keep problems also create a new profile.

  • Satellite Pro L650 turns off after start; DC In and Power LEDs blink on stop

A friend Satellite Pro L650 having worked well until yesterday, all of a sudden turned itself off. Now, at startup, it lights up normally for about 10-15 seconds before turning off suddenly. Turned off, the DC in white/blue LED and the orange Power LED Flash on a broad set of intervals of approximately one second. This extinction happens if I leave Windows or press F2 to enter the BIOS setup.

I guess this blinking is intended to serve as a kind of diagnostic code, but I have yet to track down what it means. Can anyone help?

To avoid confusion, power without the product stack the same, sudden stop experience, except the two LEDs remain solidly lit this time. With or without battery, trying to turn on again immediately after that a shutdown produced no response at all. Remove the power cable and immediately it reconnect again and turn then produced a brutal power off, but in less than 5 seconds. More wait between attempts to market seems to give a little longer powered on State, but without fault, the machine turns off just suddenly. With its short time 'turned on' we are talking, there cannot be any kind of thermal protection?

I had an old Satellite L450D lying around that uses coincidentally the same AC PA-1750 adapter, but use it made no difference. Of course, the battery does not have the L650!

The only previous numbers, that I am aware of this machine have been intermittent case of Windows reporting "Plugged in, not charging", but as my friend use it exclusively on the network, it was not a problem.

Your thoughts will be greatly appreciated...

    WTF?
