A65 ARW a true RAW format or is it an immitation lossy? I can't open ARW with iphoto, Aperture, Photoshop

My iphoto, Aperture, Photoshop CS5 worked perfectly with my ARW A500 (raw) files. I bought an A65 and the same programs cannot read the ARW. How can I open them in these programs without converting them to jpg or another file with loss? I LOVE this picture, with the exception of this monumental disappointment! Help, please!

The problem is not the camera.

The problem is that applications that you are using must be updated to handle the A65 ARW files.

You can try to use Microsoft Office Powerpoint. If you don't have the program, you can download Powerpoint Viewer for free here.

    Hello

I think I got the operation of Camera RAW. Pour the rest I can handle alone.

I have read all the help on CAMERA raw, and I think that it is not good. The Adobe site also is difficult and confusing.

I appeal to Adobe contribute to the effort to change their site to make it faster and clearer.

For example, it is impossible to know comment send an email to technical support. Language changes difficult and randomly etc... It is not worthy of a great LABELTEX like Adobe. (I have two PC on Windows 7 and it's the herself has chosen with both)

A BIG Thank YOU to CHRISTMAS CARBONI AND PECOURTEJOIE who took the time to answer me quickly and clearly in a language other than their own. Thanks to you I can use camera raw. Thank you!

    Hi Bobsirkus,

The camera you have is compatible with the latest version of Lightroom, which is Lightroom 6/CC.

Please see the list of the camera supported by Lightroom: supported by Adobe Camera Raw devices

You can use the DNG Converter, converts images and then import them into DNG in Lightroom.

  • How to import RAW format

I'm taking pictures in RAW and JPEG. I import into Photos and see the small 'J' in the lower left corner. I hit EDIT and see that I consult the JPEG version. How do I see the RAW image so that I can change it?  Once it is DONE and published, it is hit, is it saved to JPEG?  Can I save it in TIFF format in case I want to re - edit? Or can I leave it in RAW format?  If I'm not planning on printing, but especially the SHARING, I can leave it like a RAW image or do I need save to JPEG or TIFF then save or PUBLISH it?

Photos is stackable, like a photo, RAW and JPEG format. It will use the JPEG of the pair for editing by default, but you can switch to the original RAW format. Then the modified version will be derived from the RAW image.

To switch between the original files of open masters image in 'EDIT' mode In the editor, you will see a "Use RAW Original title" command in the Image menu. The badge will change from 'J' to 'R '.

When you change the RAW image as the master, pictures display previews JPEG as a result, but the RAW format will remain unchanged. You can always return to the original RAW file, and you can export the result in different formats, for example in TIFF format. In the editor press "M" to see the original version.

If you want to see the RAW and JPEG as separate images, select pair stacked in the browser and enter ⌘D to create a second version.  Open the second version in the editor, and switch the original to the RAW file. Then the RAW format so the JPEG version will be displayed in the browser and you can edit the RAW and JPEG version independently.

An update of Sony HX400V will be him will bring RAW format?

I don't understand why this format is not already supported by the camera...

This option is inevitable for a camera in this class and device manufactured by others most brand to allow the realization of the image in this format.

Much cheaper device compact camera that does not take these beautiful images are supported on RAW, including Sony compact camera.

  • Windows 7 reads a disk in RAW format in good health

I use Windows 7 Professional. One of my hard drives (Western Digital 2.0 TB caviar black) suddenly became unreadable and watch as RAW instead of NTFS file system.

When trying to access the following message appears:

    • You must format the disk in the drive until you can use it.
      Format you?

I do not format the drive, but connected the same drive via a USB HDD dock in to a computer that is running Windows XP and readings / works fine. Do I have a disk missing in Windows 7? How can I fix my Windows 7 read the HARD drive?

    Hi TissaG,

OK I have seen this problem before... the GET vista for some reason her panties in a twist to the reading fat32 on a usb connection. I expect that the XP disk is also on FAT32.

One of them was to back up the data on the disk and then format it to NTFS with vista and store data back... then XP was agrees with the disc and the XP disk should be converted to NTFS.

The work around was to plug the drive into XP and access the xp from vista machine using the network (wireless) and copy the files across.

I do not say that you can save on a single DVD - I mean by a tub of them - after all on a fat32 drive, none of the files are over 2 GB.
Yes, it's a pain to back up and it's a lot of time to put the next dvd, find the next 4 GB with a value of files and burn them, but it's either that or risk losing the data altogether. New brand disks do not have less than a week. A backup is a 2nd copy of the data, not the only one!

Please people, stop waiting for your hard drives to live forever or never corrupt. CD and DVD same hell fade with time and must be checked every 6 months are copied to a new disk every two years. If the data is valuable or valuable, then you want to several back-up copy so if one fails, you can go to the other.

I suggest you to backup the data on the disc then format it in NTFS with Windows 7 and then deliver data correctly.

  • View. PEF (Pentax RAW format) files on Surface RT is very slow

    Hello
View. PEF (Pentax RAW format) files on Surface RT is very slow. It takes about 10-15 seconds to open a file (with the Photos (Metro UI) application files Explorer). It's all simply amazing. I don't really understand why it is so long.
I don't think that the reason of this problem come from my SD card (SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS-1, 95 MB/s) or my USB cable.
I tried to change the mode (MSC, PTP) USB on my DSLR (Pentax K-5), but the same problem.
    Is there a solution?
    THX.

    Hello

If the question is limited to PEF File Format, then you may have to check the size of the images as. PEF files are image format of high resolution that may take more time to load compared to other image formats.

I'm not an apple person.  I read on a few different forums that apple has changed what is called 'writing' in a recent update to apple.  You may need to find an Apple expert to show you how to make sure you are allowed to write to files or locations on your computer.
