Hi andreas,

in versions after 40 x you must manually assing the license to the slot.

  • Issue license ROBO

    Hello

Hoping someone can help me solve a license problem I have...

We have several hosts of ESXi 5.1 existing in the branches (1 per branch), they are currently licensed using the free version of ESXi. I would now like to add these servers to a new Server Standard central vCenter 5.5 so they can be managed through that. For this we bought licenses of VM ROBO 125 (Standard) licence.

My plan was just to add a hosts to vCenter both and change them to ROBO licenses however the first snag I hit was that you can't add a free licensed with ESXi host to vCenter, just enough so I thought I'd just change it back to the eval method to add it and then modify and utilize licensed ROBO. However, it seems that the eval mode has been fully utilized until the free license has been added so I can't change it back to the eval mode.

I then noticed that we had a business license of 5.5 spare CPU 2 on the vCenter, so I added the host (change so that it uses this license during the import process). It worked and the host is now in vCenter using the company key 5.5 (although it shows as using a key Enterprise 5.1 of the same number), he didn't complain that the license key was invalid due to me using a key of 5.5 to a host 5.1 of the license.

However when I went to change to use the ROBO button, I get a an error 'A specified setting is not correct: licenseKey " and it won't let me change the license ROBO. It is not clear to me why I am getting this error, but is there a specific problem with a host from a host permits licensed ROBO (I have not found anything about it)? I found this article VMware KB: licensing to a host ESXi fails with the error: a specified parameter is not correct: licenseKey which indicates that there might be a license version number issue however I would have thought I would have got this error when I tried to apply the license 5.5 host to the host in the first place but that has worked well. The ROBO in vCenter license just said v5 rather than v5.5 is therefore a specific point of ROBO license version and I need to downgrade to get a license for 5.1 or is going on here about something else?

    Thank you

    Nick

I could be wrong, but this could be linked to the ESXi/vCenter Server version you are using. If I understand correctly the ROBO new licenses properly, by VM license requires ESXi and vCenter 5.5 Update 2 or later (see for example compare VMware vSphere Editions). In previous versions ROBO has been licensed by processor.

  • Issue license CAM

Hello guys, I have ´ve tried to add CAS server in a CAM, but I got an error that says:

Failed to add the server: Maximum limit for access servers own supported has been reached

but the CAM has a great current license as well as a License Manager Failover Manager. This license has been sent to me by Cisco

    Product name: NACMGR-40FB-K9
Product description: NAC Appliance 3390 Manager failover Bundle - max 40 servers

What could be the problem?  Thanks for the help...

    Hi muozmellado,

To add the CASE to the CAM you have the license CASE. for the license in CASE you will need to request with product authorization key (PAK) that is comes with AC. During this process, you will need to provide both mac address (primary and secondary) of CAM. Once you get the license CASE installation this license in cam and try adding CASES in the CAM.

    Thank you

  • Issue license on device ACS C1121

    Hi all

I have the script as below:

    01. I'm a customer unit C1121 ACS system comes with version 5.1. The customer buy the basic and important deployment as well as the purchase license.

02 fact is that I have manually update the system to version 5.3.0.40 and request a license to test for the administration of the unit.

    My question is:

    a. If I now using the purchased base license and great deployment PAK to activate the system, it would still be worthwhile for me to continue to use the Version 5.3.0.40?

    Thank you

    Noel

    Hello

Yes, GBA 5.x is a licensed application. You can install your licenses on any version 5.x of CSA without any problem. Licenses are not version specific.

If this was helpful please note.

    Kind regards.

  • issue license WebVPN

I have a cisco ASA5505, with basic license, it seems that I have only 2 connection ssl/webvpn running at any time.  How can I upgrade only the webvpn part to allow for more licenses?  Should what license I expect?

Yes you are right. It comes by default with 2 SSL/WebVPN license only.

You can upgrade to 25 maximum on ASA5505 SSL/WebVPN license, and every purchase, you can:

    -License key AnyConnect

    OR /.

    -License AnyConnect Premium

Here is the difference between the 2 license:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/ASA/asa84/license/license_management/license.html#wp1487561

In summary, the key is full client mode only (similar to the IPSec VPN Client), and Premium includes vpn ssl without client, client full mode ssl vpn and advanced features like endpoint assessment, etc.

    Hope that answer your question.

  • Return to standby virtual ESXi - issue licenses

I was testing virtual Eve fact in our lab for an ESXi 6 (free version), and apparently is not supported on VMWare.  VSphere Essentials licenses would open the options required for the implementation of virtual Eve him?

    Thank you

Just in case someone stumbles across this, the answer is Yes.  VMWare Essentials includes the correct license.

  • Issue license - 4 physical processors

I don't know if this is the place, but I had a question about licensing for vSphere Essentials.

I have a single server, DL580 (with four physical processors) and would get ESXi 6.0 and the VCSA (all) - all about ESXi free edition is fine, except no VCSA (makes me want to look for a solution elsewhere - I do not have any needs HA).

However, the Kit of Essentials lists the following:

License law - "3 servers with up to 2 processors each.

Am I reading this right? I can really use only up to two processors on a single host licenses? The free edition seems to allow me to use all 4!

    Thanks in advance!

Follow-up (surprised some of the prosaic "answers" by the way).

It is possible with the Essentials Kit. To license VMware:

"I wish to inform you that vSphere Essentials Kit to be used on several 3 hosts with - 6 CPU altogether." English vcenter server essentials can manage 3 guests = 6 processors / CPU.

If you have 1 host (s) of 2 processors and another host of 4 processors, you could still license and manage multiple hosts. »

The server vCenter license is the limiting factor.

  • Issue licenses during the upgrade to vcenter 2.5 to 5.0

I have 4 ESX host running 3.5 update 5. I just upgraded from 2.5 to 5.0 vcenter. One of my ESX hosts still contains the old license server. I try to change it to the correct server, but I get the cannot change the license server error. I couldn't ping the server licenses from this host. I noticed that on my 4 host, that host was the only server where DNS is not configured. I set up the DSN and I can now ping on the license server, but still I can't change it. From the console, I did a service network restart hoping that would clearly be DNS.

The customer, I go to Administration - vCenter Server Settings and the licensing option is configured correctly. Any reason why it changed on my other host 3 but not this one?

    Thank you

You'll have to mainrain one license server until you can upgrade your ESX, ESXi 5 hosts - and don't forget not there is Noah ESX in vSphere 5 so you will have to reinstall to ESXi.

  • Issue licenses to be awarded assessment to vSphere 4 Essentials Plus

    Host: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    Mode of assessment
In vSphere 4 Essentials Plus (<>LICENSE KEY)

    Features in use:
    * vMotion

I bought essentials more licenses include vMotion.  Why vSphere asks me to turn it off during the award of licenses to each host?

I have 2 guests, and he complains about two of them.  My "assessment" "expires" in 7 days. Help!

What version do you use? vMotion has been added to Essentials Plus 4.1 and is not available in 4.0. Using vMotion you must have vCenter Server and hosts on the 4.1 version.

I uninstall adobe pro of a system and install the same on the other system is there any problem with licensing

    Hi Sissi,

You must deactivate the license from the old machine before you install it on the new machine on the other, it will increase the number of activations

To disable the software, you need to run the software, go to the 'Help' menu and select 'disable '.

Please check the KB for more information: Activation & deactivation help

  • Storage vMotion issue License - license of moving between ESX Hosts 4.1?

I have a question about Storage vMotion with ESX 4.1 license.

One of my environments ESX 3.5 existing consists of 10 ESX 3.5 hosts - 8 ESX 3.5 servers Standard and 2 ESX 3.5 Enterprise servers.  I use a centralized license server (I think that's the correct term).

I found that I can "move" the vMotion (and vMotion) Storage capacity of two of my 10 servers that only two of them are enabled for vMotion, both.  I do this by topic under VI Client-> select the host ESX-> Configuration-> network-> properties-> VMkernel-> Edit-> toggle the box "VMotion" activated-> OK.   I guess that by doing this, that I'm actually just spend my licenses 'ESX Enterprise' between the hosts.

Be able to run Storage vMotion on one or two guests at a time is a lot for a few times a year I need to reconfigure my back-end storage.

    Two Questions:

    1. this use is technically legal in a perspective of VMware licenses?

    2. now, I'm looking to upgrade to ESX 4.1 and wonder if I'll be able to keep doing this?  I have read that ESX 4.x got rid of the centralized server license model, so not sure if I could 'move' licenses around like that... In fact since vMotion is now included in Standard Edition, I guess I could 'pull out' through a license only one ESX Enterprise server in order to obtain the license of storage vMotion.

I let my support/subscription lapse for as long it is cheaper to purchase new licenses rather than paying for support costs with retroactive effect on my existing licenses.   The price difference between Standard and Enterprise is large (3 times the cost) that I don't think I can swing is business licenses for all of my guests past the bean counters, where the reason for this post.

    Reflections and comments?

Each host has a license key number. You can apply a new license key to a host, and it is immediately activated. I guess you would be technically violate licensing for seconds as a license number was recorded at two hosts. There is a place in the vSphere client to "assign a new license key to this host. When a license key has been assigned, it remains as a choice, then you can simply choose the functionality licensed one and below the other.

  • Issue license Acrobat XI

When I start running Acrobat XI, the Adobe software license agreement screen opens, with no text inside, and the only options are to accept or to quit smoking. Hit the accept button does nothing, so I have no choice but to leave. When I do this, Acrobat closes as well. All other CS6 software I downloaded from the creative cloud works beautifully. What gives? How can I fix?

    Please try this:

Go to Applications-> Utilities-> Adobe Installers-> Adobe Acrobat X-> remove Acrobat X using the application uninstaller.

Relaunch Acrobat XI and try to accept the EULA.

Feel free to post the results.
