Access of migration on 64-bit

Have a thread in the forum of the apex on the exporter tool works only on 32-bit office. Access exporter. 64-bit Version

After watching this: http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/db/hol08/sqldev_migration/msaccess/migrate_microsoft_access_otn.htm and this http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/db/hol08/sqldev_migration/msaccess/viewlets/access_capture.html (Toos-> Migration-> exporting Access + Migration) repository, I think it depends on the same tool.

The last thing I stumbled on was exemplary in Oracle when right click on a dial-up connection or table. However, when it works, I seem to face an error: failure JournalArticles of table. Message: [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] invalid length string or buffer.

Curiously, is not error in the same place every time:
< snip >
Table JournalArticles failed. Message: [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] string length or invalid buffer

< snip >
Notes to table failed. Message: [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] string length or invalid buffer

< snip >
Table JournalArticles failed. Message: [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] string length or invalid buffer

< snip >
Conferences of the table failed. Message: [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] string length or invalid buffer
>

After doing a bit of research, it seems that this error is related to 64-bit (as well).

Possibly related: {message identifier: = 10030903}

... I guess I better get my hands on a 32-bit OS/Office! (or any other options)

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/942976

I also tried starting sqldeveloper in debug mode as described: http://www.thatjeffsmith.com/archive/2012/06/how-to-collect-debug-info-for-oracle-sql-developer/, but no output was generated really related to the question.

Hello

It is not very likely a problem with the JDBC-ODBC bridge. This problem has been tapped already against SQL Developer, and it has been fixed in the last week. Version 3.2.2.09.69 and later contain the fix. The latest version on OTN is 24-Sep-2012, so it cannot include the fix.

Please look out on OTN until the next version of SQL Developer will be available. Here is the reference of the bugs:

BUG 13367076 - WIN 64 BIT: ACCESS: COPY TO GET the ORACLE, 'INVALID STRING OR BUFFER' ERROR

You don't see this bug in My Oracle Support because it is hidden for guests.

    OK, so this question was asked to me.   We received a new chassis for a blade/SAN solution for free.   The new chassis will be our recovery site and will support 64-bit of the blades (unlike our last production version).    We currently have 32-bit hosts in production with all the 32-bit guests and we intend to put 64-bit blades in the new chassis if we can migrate it 32-bit guests.   What I read 32-bit guests are supported on a 64-bit host but can migrate us host 32-bit to 64-bit host?

    It is still too early, so if it's coherent hike or you need any clarification please let me know.

    What I read 32-bit guests are supported on a 64-bit host but can migrate us host 32-bit to 64-bit host?

    Yes.  No problem.

Can any ove let me know that if I directly copy it to the source (32 bit) OS to destination (64 bit) OS database and create server OS level using oradim, it will work fine. The only change is from 32 bit to 64 bit on windows 2003. I have to take care of anything else? Is the format of 32-bit and 64-bit even for oracle?

  • migrate from 32-bit to 64-bit

    Here's the scenario.

    Necessary for server migration Oracle 32-bit with data files on the DSO to the Oracle 64-bit server

    I have move asm so 64-bit or I can juice install oracle 64-bit to new 64-bit server and use the asm oracle 32-bit home.

    Thank you

    Hey wins,

    Thanks for the detailed explanation:

    I guess that the OS of the server will be the same - a simple change from 32-bit to 64-bit?
    If you don't change the operating system platform.

    The best way to do this:

    (1) install Oracle home 64 bit for ASM on the new server
    (2) install Oracle home 64 bit for the database on the new server
    (best practices for houses - but it is not necessary)
    (3) establish a standby with RMAN in ASM on the new server - check it please Note: 413484.1 for 32/64-bit permitted combinations
    (4) you just do a single pass and you will be running on the new server

    http://www.Oracle.com/technology/deploy/availability/PDF/maa_wp_10gr2_asmmigrationwithdg.PDF

    If min downtime is not your condition you simply implement the clone on the new server with RMAN and invalidate all packages and recompile - that's all.

    Kind regards

  • What data access component download Oracle 64-bit should I use?

    Hello

    I have Visual Studio 2013 and I would use the latest data access components Oracle with Entity Framework 6.  There are three 64-bit downloads.  What one do need me?

    • ODP.NET_Managed121020.zip
    • ODAC121021Xcopy_x64.zip
    • ODAC121021_x64.zip

    There is a notice if you want to use DTC Entity Framework features, then the 32-bit Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio download is necessary. Okay, I like to use the design-time features, but does that mean I can use the 64-bit versions?

    Thank you

    Peter

    If you use Visual Studio data designers (first model EF or first database, for example) or the Configuration Wizard of TableAdapter, you must install Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio, which is 32-bit. This "ODTwithODAC" package includes both the unmanaged driver 32 bit as the ODP.NET ODP.NET, successful pilot.

    So, the first thing you need to decide is if you use ODP.NET, managed driver or ODP.NET, pilot managed. If you choose to use the successful pilot, or the driver for 32-bit unmanaged (at least during development) you can stop here, you have no need of anything else. Note that the successful pilot lacks a few features that the unmanaged driver has. On the other hand, the successful pilot is much easier to deploy.

    If you want to target the ODP.NET 64 - bit unmanaged pilot at design time, you also need to install a 64 bit choice.  At the time of the design, for the sake of simplicity, I would just use the version of installer of Oracle based, not the version of Xcopy. Note that your installation of 32-bit and 64-bit facilities cannot reside in the same Oracle home (directory).

    Versions of Xcopy are there to facilitate the deployment with pilot unmanaged. It allows you to integrate the pilot unmanaged with your application.

    Coming shortly is the version of the successful pilot Nuget. However, this gets you any time tools design and use so it is limited to the work "coding only" or deployment scenarios.

  • Migrating from 32-bit Windows XP 64 - bit Windows 7 - create Suite 6

    I am migrating from a computer with Windows XP 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit. Install my existing Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium or I have to buy it again?

    Hello

    You can install and activate the perpetual software (purchased) two computers of the same type (mac or pc), as long as you use it on one at a time.

    It is advisable to disable the software on a computer on which it will be is most used, especially before giving away or selling the computer or reformat the hard disk. Please see this link: How to disable the software.  This frees an activation if you have the option to install the software on another computer at any time.

    You can please consult the system requirements for CS6:-system requirements | Adobe Creative Suite 6

    I hope that answers your query!

  • Migrate from 32-bit to 64-bit (oel4 to oel5)

    Hello

    We have applications (database) OEL 4, 7 SERVER has SERVER OEL5. Currently oel4.7 server is 32-bit, and we need to migrate to OEL5 64-bit server.
    Could someone please help us find the correct steps/docs for this type of migration.

    1 32-bit server
    Operating system-> OEL 4.7
    Version of database-> 11.2.0.3

    2 64 - bit server
    Operating system-> OEL 5
    Version of database-> 11.2.0.3

    Note:-we do not seek to upgrade the database. Just Let's break the DB to new 64-bit.

    Thanks in advance

    You will need to install the 64 bit 11.2.0.3 software on the new server (pay attention to the pre-reqs), then apply the patches of same to 11.2.0.3 that you applied on the old server, follow the procedure in the above link.

  • Migration Windows 32-bit to 64-bit Linux and fix missing 10.2.0.4.12P

    I'm migrating a 10.2.0.4 database of 32-bit Windows to 64-bit Linux. I use OPatch to ensure that the RDBMS software is at the same level and have found I have patch #7522473 (10.2.0.4.12P) installed in my house Oracle Windows but not Linux. I can't find the Linux 64-bit equivalent. Any idea where I could find this?

    The 'P' in the way patch number is platform-specific. Windows patch bundles are completely different from the rest of the platforms supported, like for Windows patches are merged into the bundle and binary are precompiled, there is no unique pieces for the Oracle executable files. For other platforms, Oracle releases the files objects that solve a problem specific and executable are reprinted in the moment with them. If this patch is in conflict with some other exceptional items, you request a merge or wait for a power supply. This means have probably Oracle under Windows in perfect synchronization with Oracle everywhere else patch-wise - you do not have control on which patches are included in clusters of Windows patch and there may be cases where the batch of Windows hotfixes merges some one-offs for which no merger is on other platforms.

    And Jean Valentine advice is correct: patch to 10.2.0.5 then to CPUJan2011.
