Access problems Windows 8 after his awakening mode standby

I recently bought a VAIO DUO with Windows 8 Pro. I have transferred all my files from my laptop previous to the new, changed the permissions and everything works fine.

However once the laptop enter mode 'sleep' and then is resumed, I can't access all files copied from my previous laptop! All permissions and ownership is identical to any other file for which access is fine and perfectly just.

I don't know what is happening and how I can solve it, and as I can't find anything on the Internet.

Any ideas how I can solve this problem, because it is annoying and requires a reboot to access the files again!

Thank you in advance.

John

I finally found what has created the problem. It's Intel Anti theft on my laptop. It seems that after waking up from his sleep, Intel to think your laptop is stolen and locks... encrypted files even though you can synchronize with the central web console.

I got rid of encryption and now everything works fine.

  • No access to Windows 7 after updates

I turned on my computer and he does a lot of automatic updates and when the computer has restarted after the updates, I can't access to Windows 7. The computer displays the screen with the icons for the three different users defined (myself, my wife and guests), but when I click on an icons of the screen goes black for a few seconds and returns to the screen with the icons, not on the desktop.

    Hi Alvaro,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to consult the below thread and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

Screen flickering and problems log on Windows 7 after installation of updates

If the problem persists, I suggest that you want to run auto repair with installation media and see if it helps you repair system files or not. For the execution of the task, I suggest you to try the steps below and see if it helps.

Method 1: When you use the recovery environment (Windows RE) to troubleshoot startup issues, first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If this does not resolve the problem, or if you have additional problems manually, use the Bootrec.exe tool.

Because you cannot start the computer, you may need to create a bootable Windows installation media, and then do an auto repair, and if this does not help then you try to restore your computer to the previous date.

Note: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

If you are using Windows 7 then the link provided below might help you to download and create installation media.

Download Windows 7 Disk Images (ISO files)

Method 2: If the problem persists, try to rebuild the BCD by using the Bootrec.exe tool. To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows recovery environment (Windows RE) . To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Place the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
    2. Press a key when you are prompted. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
    3. Click repair your computer.
    4. Click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.
    6. Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

See the following link for more information:

How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/927392

Method 3: If after performing the above steps, you are able to start the computer and access the desktop then try to Uninstall KB3097877 update if it is installed, and then reinstall it.

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

  • LAN died after turning the Mode standby with Windows 7!

I have a motherboard Intel DX58SO with the last LAN driver v15.3.  After my computer goes to sleep and then he wakes up, back to the top of the LAN adapter is turned off and it won't work again until I restart my computer. I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and I was using Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit before with no problems. I did a fresh install of Win7 and not upgrade.  Anyone have any ideas?  Thank you for your help and your time!

Here is a copy of the email I got from the Intel Technical Support.  In fact, I solved the problem until I got the email. Decommissioning of the bios resolved the problem for me.

    Please contact Customer Support.

I understand the LAN adapter will extinguish after the system returns to "standby" mode on Windows 7 *.

In this case, we recommend test you the system with BIOS version 5200. Please perform a BIOS recovery to make the update. The file can be found at:http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18938&ProdId=3018&lang=eng

For the BIOS recovery instructions, please visit:http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-023360.htm

If the problem persists after using BIOS version 5200, please try to use driver version 14.6. You can find this driver to:

  • 'open with' access lost Windows Apps after the last update of Mac OS

It seems that the last Mac OS update has broken something with VMWare Fusion. Before I could right-click on a file in the Finder and the menu 'Open with' include all appropriate applications that have been installed in my different Windows VMs.  Now, the menu is empty and I have to run the application in Windows and open the file of the application.  As you can imagine that it's boring and tedious.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or does anyone have a solution?

    Sorry,

If this is the case, you can repopulate windows applications on your Mac in two ways app folder as far as I know.

    (1) via the mode of the unit: VMware KB: applications Windows Add to Applications folder on your Mac using VMware Fusion

    2) from the Virtual Machine settings > default Application

    (a) re - enable (disable and enable) Windows applications run the Mac application folder

A few weeks ago, I was using my computer and it worked very well. Once I got home I turned it on, but it does not turn. After trying several times and get only a black screen I finally got an answer, my computer was looking for solutions, and finally I decided to update it. Once I did, everything seemed to work, but as he was warned many of my apps have been removed. Once I tried to download office, a message appeared and the dignosi said that "a problem is preventing the troubleshooting tool to start. After this, I restarted my PC, but the problem persisted. Then I tried to open the app store and it did not open at all it just poped to the top of the icon of gree. With this problem and no solution, I scanned my computer but nothing. Then I looked on the internet, it seemed to me that many had my problem. Then I tried what more said and noticed that something that I could not even do is run at the prompt as an administrator. It took a lot of my possibilities, and the problem of not being able to download anything at all do not let me even try firefox or install any kind of service. To resolve this problem, I have internet and with the help of my brother, I could do my account manager and perform the sfc can. After that he told me that I had nothing wrong. The next thing I did was try to run "chkdsk/r", after that I could download and install things over the internet so I did a update and installed everything I could. The only problem was that the store and the laptop settings cannot yet open and I tried every utility in the internet troubleshooting and recommendations, but nothing works, I can't even change my background of my photos folder. • Cannot access files on hard disk on windows xp, after I worked with it on win 7.

Cannot access files on external hard drive on windows xp, after that I worked with him on Victory 7.I can see the file, but he says "is not accessible. access is denied. " Can someone help me?

As you can guess, this is a permissions problem.  Here, it makes a difference if you have XP Home or Pro you have to safe boot mode to change permissions in the House.

My crystal ball says that your external drive is formatted with the NTFS file system.  When you connected to Windows 7 (or any other computer besides), the files have been added that this user permissions apparently understood that only Win 7 has access to.  There are several ways to handle this...

Is to save on all your files and reformat the external hard drive with a FAT32 file system and then support files.  You will have no problems of permissions with FAT32, but you can't have any higher than 4 GB single file either.

Another way is as an administrator, to 'Ownership' of all the files on the disk
"How appropriate a file or a folder in Windows XP"
but this could get old if the drive moves back.

Yet another approach is to give "Everyone" full access to everything on the drive.  This may or may not protect against new folders or files added, but may be worth a try:
As a user administrator, open a command window:
    Start-> Run-> "cmd".
    Then, enter the command:
    CACLS E:\/t/e/c/g everyone: F
(where I am assuming that your external drive is mounted as "E:" - change of real player)

I hope that something more top is useful...
