Access to 16 GB (RAM RAM)

I have window 7 Ultimate 32 bit. I have 16 GB of Ram, but my system says that I use only 2.9 GB.  Is it possible to unlock the rest of my memory (RAM)

The only way to use fully more than 4 GB of RAM would be upgraded to a 64-bit operating system. But the biggest obstacle is to install a clean place, not an upgrade. Thus, your applications will need to be reinstalled.

There is a limit of 32-bit address space, not a forced software limit.

Got the memory but do not know how to change it!

If the memory is not placed under the memory cover (lower side) that the RAM slots are placed under the keyboard. Keyboard needs to be removed and you will find the small cover.
Under the lid, you will find the two RAM slots.

  • Satellite L750D - can't access 4 GB of RAM under Windows 7 64-bit

I recently bought a Satellite L750D/009 with 4 GB of RAM. Have installed Windows 7 64 - bit OS but panel shows that only 3.47 GB of RAM is usable. I expect this from a 32 bit OS but I'm * definitely * running 64-bit OS.

    Can someone explain this?

    Hey,.

Are the whole 4 GB of RAM in BIOS? If Yes, everything is ok.

I think that the rest of the memory will be used for graphics card graphics memory so it of normal. This will be controlled automatically so n t you worry about this.

  • Pavilion 15-ab121dx: 15 laptop HP Pavilion (15-ab121dx) w / AMD A10 8700 p - what are the speed/types/sizes of RAM supported?

I bought a new laptop over the weekend (15-ab121dx - CPU AMD A - 10 p 8700, 6 GB of DDR3 RAM memory) and the sales associate could not tell me the max supported RAM.  I guess I could quickly find the info online, but was strangely wrong...  I searched HP and the Internet in general site but can't find what the maximum RAM allowed in this laptop.  I'm assuming that the laptop is so new, the information is just not there yet?    He came only installed with 6 GB or ram (SODIMM 1 is 4 GB and the 2nd SODIMM 2 GB) and I want to change to 16GB SODIMM (2x8GB) or 32 GB (2x16GB) SODIMM.   The problem is that I can't find the maximum supported memory, speed, memory type for my new machine.  One of the main reasons that I decided to go with this laptop is I read good things about the A10 AMD 8700 p and that it can work with RAM speeds up to 2133 mhz...  But before I buy the fast RAM, I want first of all to ensure that this speed of RAM will work in this laptop?  Please list the supported RAM types, size of RAM, RAM speeds for this laptop.   In addition, support DDR3L, DDR3, or both?    Thank you!

Yes thank you, but the link you have sent (the model computer laptop 15-ab121dx on the HP site) was the first place I checked when I started searching for information on the laptop.    It not there no guide service or y at - it clues about the supported RAM configurations.   I knew that the price of the machine and the CPU is perhaps a little too good to be true.     ... Not extensible user is bad.  Looks like the laptop everything would need to be dismantled to even just replacing the hard drive and, to install or replace the motherboard of the laptop RAM must be removed!    I should have done more research.  But I guess even if I had, I wouldn't have found much (since having to place a post in a forum to know these basic things like access and type of RAM)...   I plan to return it.  Thanks for the quick responses to the post office - this was appreciated.

  • Satellite A200-10W recognize only 3 GB instead of 4 GB of RAM

2 years ago, I bought the laptop Toshiba A200-10w.
He had 1 GB of memory installed (at the time, the seller said that ram can be expandable to 4 GB).

Recently, I bought RAM 2x2gb modules.
When I installed the modules I had to update the update of the BIOS-Windows X, to recognize all the ram installed, but during POST only 3071 MB of RAM is checked (even though the main BIOS screen lists that 4096 Mb is installed).

Even if I use FreeBSD 64-bit operating system I can only access 3071 MB of RAM.
Is there a solution to this problem?

    Hello

To access the full 4 GB of RAM as the three components; Operating system and BIOS of the Chipset must support 4 GB of RAM.

If one of these parts does not support the 4 GB of RAM then your laptop will not handle and will not recognize the full 4 GB of RAM.

Check your chipset and look into the details to the Intel page.
There, you can find an info if your chipset is capable of 4 GB.

  • Satellite L30-10 x and RAM upgrade

    Hello

IM missing to know where and how to upgrade RAM in Satellite L30 - 10 x. I would like to switch to 2 GB (maximum) and also upgrade to vista Home premium.
    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Hello

To upgrade of RAM on this laptop model is very simple. Memory locations are under the memory cover. Remove cover memory placed in the lower corner of your laptop (in the middle) and you will have access to these two RAM slots.

If you want to use max RAM I recommend to buy compatible DDR2 400/533 1 GB module with the PA3411U-1M1G part number.
Vista upgrade should be no problem at all. On the Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > download & support, you can find the Vista drivers, tools and utilities for your Satellite L30 (PSL33E).

    Good luck!

  • Upgrade RAM ProBook 6440 b

    Help!

I'm trying to upgrade the RAM in my probook 6440 b

It came with 2GB, and I want to bump it up to 8 GB.

I already have very RAM, but can't access the slots of RAM (other than the one on the bottom of the unit).

I believe that the slots are located under the keyboard, but I can't find the removal instructions (or better yet, a video)

Normally trolling YouTube & Google is what I need, but I hit a wall.  Even the videos that I found who claims to be the correct model are not.  In some cases that aren't even from the same manufacturer and no part in the layout of my laptop.

  • Upgrade RAM voltage

Hello and nice to be here because this is my first post.

I have a new HP laptop 15-r084ng PC and I want to upgrade to 4 GB RAM to 8 GB immediately.

Here are my product directly from HP information sheet: laptop Specs

Well, a few days ago I ordered online this RAM: Kingston RAM

Today, through this Forum, read a post about the tensions of RAM and went and checked my features again.

It seems that the RAM I ordered is 1.5V, opposed to the 1.35v required by HP.

I would ask you please the following:

1 can you please tell me if this 1.5V RAM will be work on my laptop and if in any case it would work.

    2. If it works you see all the problems?

    4. how my warranty HP resist not if I use it? [if the RAM is of course available to all]

On a final note, my laptop is a "closed" model without easy access to upgrade the RAM. It takes literally share the same join RAM.

I read on this Forum RAM upgrade IS NOT cancel your HP warranty. What in this case where the model of the laptop must be completely opened and lots of dismantled parts? [RAM is under the motherboard]

I thank very you much in advance and congratulations on a great Forum.

1.35 volts RAM can also operate at 1.5 volts but not all 1.5 volt RAM can operate at 1.35 volts. 1.35 is made from pieces of high quality and is a newer product. As a general rule, if memory could run at 1.35 volts it would be listed in the specifications so there is a strong chance that this memory will not work. You are right that this laptop is very difficult to service. The memory is under the motherboard. Technically, the guarantee is threatened when you do this. I can't speak for HP, but I understand that the guarantee will be always good, as long as no damage is done in the upgrade process.

  • Update of the modules of RAM on dv4-2145dx

Hello, I need a little help on upgrading the ram for dv4-2145dx I need to know two things, first of all, I tried to unscrew the memory or cover plate but so far, that the coverage is not just comes off and it just makes a noise clicky of sorts even if I had to unscrew and so I can't access or replace the RAM modules. Second type of add-on memory ddr2 can I use with this laptop can be 667 or 800 or less. Well that's all my questions, someone who can help me on this issue I will really appreciate please and thank you have a nice day.

Hey thanks Big Dave your trick to fight against the removal of the cover of the ram or plate has worked like a charm also by doing the same trick I could access the wwan module that seems to need a sim card and the radio module and if you have any idea where I can get these parts please let me know as I am looking to move to 6 GB of ram due I have windows 7 64 bit, but so far, I have to admit that, with only 4 GB of RAM for the operating system works quite ok. Thanks for your help big time I really enjoy it and have a nice day.

  • How do I enter settings RAM Muse?

I'm working on an iMac of 32 GB and I really don' understand why it works well... Of the household activity Muse uses only 780 mb of the 32 GB I have... I could easily access the RAM settings in Photoshop, but I can't understand how to access the parameters of RAM of Muse.

    Thanks in advance

Muse does not all of these parameters and it is simply false to believe that more RAM could solve these problems. Even in PS, they are just guidelines, but not every image you open and each operation will take to the top as much RAM. Such is the nature of dynamic memory allocation. I'm not a Mac user, but it seems these issues on iMac still down high-resolution screen vs bad graphics drivers, so presumably that is nothing, that adobe can fix it for you, at least until a next update.

  • Why adobe photoshop cs5 uses only 3 GB of my ram 12 GB? pls help

Hey guys can help you with this... I'm a bit confuse with my adobe photoshop cs5 in my system... I have an i7 970 processor and channel selection 3 x 4 (12 GB) RAM... but when I look at the EDIT > PREFERENCES > PERFORMANCE in my adbobe cs5 it shows only 3 GB of available ram when I have 12 GB installed in my system... I want to adjust use 8 GB of my 12 GB of ram... How can I solve this? do you need advise please...

    Photoshop CS5 installs as a version and a 32-bit 64-bit on x 64 OS.

Run the 64-bit version to access all of your RAM.

Run the 32-bit version if you need compatibility with older 32-bit snap-ins.

Look in the Start Menu for links at a time.  The 64-bit version is tagged with (64 bit) after his name.
