Accessing an application WebWorks built the database via a Java application

Hi all

My Java application needs to access a database that was created by a WebWorks built application. I see WebWorks encryption applications their databases using the code keys automatically signing. When I first tried to read the database, he said that it was encrypted as IOException: headers are encrypted. Since then, I installed the same key code in my Eclipse IDE to signature and have signed the java application with the same keys used by the WebWorks app. I always seem to get an IOException error, but this time it does not specify the exact error.

Quite simply, I need to use the same database created in the WebWorks app in my Java application. Is it possible if I use the same code key for both signature requests? Or WebWorks uses a completely different algorithm to encrypt data in the database from Eclipse and so cannot use the same database?

Thank you for all your help.

Rob

Yes, the DB is encrypted by default by using the identity of the application (code signing key and I believe in association with the name of the application)

Thus, the type of DB of SQLite that is created from a WebWorks app is different from one created from a Java application, which can be a conflict at stake here.

If you believe that it is a Google Gears database!

https://github.com/BlackBerry/WebWorks/BLOB/master/framework/src/js/html5_init.js#L586

Well Yes, to subsidize bequests to devices BBOS 5.0, which had no WebKit as web rendering engine, Gears is the 'wedge' up here.

For the above reasons, I do not think that its going to be possible for you to achieve what you're trying with SQLite DB. To share data between applications on BBOS, you would need to use a different channel (encrypt the data and save it in the file system, or use your own remote web service + DB)

    Hello

    ORCL:/D32/orawc/product/10.2.0/Db_1:N
    Oracl:/D32/orawind/product/10.2.0/Db_1:N

    testwind:/D32/tstuser1/product/10.2.0/Db_1:N
    pdmorcl1:/D32/pdmorcl1/product/10.2.0/Db_1:N
    Wind:/D32/pdmorcl1/product/10.2.0/Db_1:N

So now, I think that problem is some hand if environment variable at startup of the database. oratab files sows that you have multiple homes of oracle on your server
    1 /d32/orawc/product/10.2.0/Db_1
    2 /d32/orawind/product/10.2.0/Db_1
    3 /d32/tstuser1/product/10.2.0/Db_1
    4 /d32/pdmorcl1/product/10.2.0/Db_1

Your environment variable must be set correctly when you start the database so that it starts from the good House. Listener could run from any head of mission and your database can register automatically. For your particular case, you should and environment flow as follows and it should work for you

    export ORACLE_HOME=/d32/pdmorcl1/product/10.2.0/Db_1
    export ORACLE_SID=wind
    export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$PATH

After setting your environment like that, now you conect 'as sysdba' and startup of the database (I think you know how to start the database. If it is already started, stopped and then start early). Now your database said the correct House

Now you pasted above your tnsnames.ora file. Should the tnsnames.ora file $$be to the following Director (in the current home you above)

    /D32/pdmorcl1/product/10.2.0/Db_1/network/admin

Now you try to connect you wanted. To make sure everything, also stick out now in the course of execution of the command line

    which tnsping
    which sqlplus
    which lsnrctl

No, it is the opposite: Oracle instance blocked any new database entry to be recoverable.

And as we cannot access, we cannot remove these logs?

Even if archive destination is stored in ASM you can access (for example with the utility asmcmd command line interface).

What you need to do is:
    1 backup archived redo logs
    2. Remove archived redo logs that have been saved.

For example if you use RMAN, you can try

    backup archivelog all delete input;

  • How to integrate Oracle policy Automation (OPA) to the database

    Hi all

We are implementing the OPA to one of our customer, we would like to know, how the OPA can be integrated with the database.

    Chandra

    Chandra,

We do not provide direct tools for integration with databases, but there are two approaches to integration. I guess that we are talking about get data of a database and registration of the results of assays to the database.

Write a program to use the API engine server or decisions provide for rules.

With this approach, your program is responsible to get and set the data to the database (via JDBC or Hibernate in Java, for example). OPA provides an API for performs regulation operations and results, that your program needs to save in the database.

An alternative is to use the server of determinations that provides a SOAP/XML interface to perform operations of regulation and retrieve results, but you will still need to persist/retrieve the answers yourself.

    DataSource connector

We have a connector of the data source, but it is a bit misnamed. It reads in the CSV (likely exported from a database) files and provides results as CSV files.

The connector of the data source as part of a solution to integrate with the database, but you must still provide data base real connectibity yourself.

  • Restrict access to the database for the upgrade of the application

    Hi all

We're performing an upgrade of the application that requires us to perform a lot of scripts on our server Oracle EE 11.2.0.4.

This specific database has around a website based end and a front end based client, but it is also accessible on the network through TNS SQLPLUS/Toad, ODBC, JDBC etc.

For obvious reasons, the upgrade, I want to make sure that no one else that the DBA can access the database. Usually change us the listening port of 1521 to let say 1544. This prevents all access.

But now we run in a physical Data Guard with two Standby configuration so I don't really want to play with the listener ports. The upgrade must propagate changes from primary to Standby. I could interrupt them temporarily, but I would like to avoid that if possible.

Another way I thought would work was to stop the database and open it in restricted mode. But before that, I would need to grant the privilege of the Session to RESTRICT all users upgrade scripts using (around 5 users).

This approach using the restricted mode seems reasonable?

Other opinions would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

This is exactly what restricted session is for. You can do online and then kill a session is currently connected. No need to stop:

    orclz > alter system enable restricted session;

    Modified system.

    orclz > change system disable restricted session;
