I'm afraid that someone will end you in completely in the wrong direction on this. The recovery media is probably completely OK.

The HP SLIC has absolutely nothing to do with the windows you are trying to install, but stands in the BIOS of the laptop. Someone hacked the BIOS Acer to tell windows antifeatures of piracy which is HP laptop, presumably so that they could use HP media instead. Reinstalling Windows will not fix the BIOS.

All I can suggest is to download the Acer BIOS update files and try and install one to replace the SLIC entry. There is however 2 caveats to that. 1stly that the damaged area is not always included in the files to update the standard BIOS, so if you can run a BIOS update may not solve the problem. 2ndly some BIOS update programs you cannot install an older than the currently installed BIOS and one that fits in a first time (because it can be complete) would be the version original factory.

It's not all just Microsoft to blame for this issue when it was caused by someone trying to circumvent the measures to combat software piracy that any developer has the right to use. As said from your description that it is only a problem due to fraudulent activity.

Also when you are communicating on this forum you're not dealing with Microsoft, all the people here are voluntary and have no direct involvement with Microsoft to help posters like you.

Basically, is it possible to OEM license for use on a DvD at retail?
    Thank you very much

    Hello

You can also use this method.

You do not have a Vista disc that came with the computer to reinstall with, you should have a recovery Partition to do.

Here is the HP Compaq information on how to use the recovery partition to put your computer in a new State.

You press F11 at startup or through their Recovery Manager.

It is all explained in this link.

  • during the installation of licenced copy of windows 7 Home Premium - I can't write my username keyboard wired - num light is off - hoe to write?

I tried to install a licensed copy of windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on C: or D:.

Up to write user name, all measures are gradually running & stops at 'write username. because I'm unable to write because of the keyboard NUMLOCK is off. When I press the num lock light button is "ON", when I release the finger of the num lock key light is disabled (unable to write with key board.

In contrast, windows 8 Pro gets comfortably installed on C: or D:. This means that the keyboard is ok.

What is the problem with the installation of windows 7 so that the keyboard is not recognized (active) while writing "user name".

Can you try to connect the keyboard to a different port and see if it works?

    Turn off the system

It again, go into the BIOS and change USB legacy mode and see if it works.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Danish

    Hello

I want to format my PC and found out that it is legal to download an online version of Windows if you have a CD - key legal. I have a CD - key legal, but I need a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit in Danish. So far I've been able to find it in other languages but not Danish. Is there anyway to find this online version?

My restore partition does not work, so I can't create the recovery of my own DVDs.

    Hello:

    1. download the Windows 7 Pro x 64 Danish on the link below.

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-from-Digital-River/

    2. follow this guide to remove the ei.cfg file in order to obtain all versions of W7, and then either create a flashdrive bootable using win to Flash, or a bootable DVD using Imageburn (these two methods appear in the instructions).

They would need to be able to enter the serial number of your PC.

  • Copy of Windows 7 Home Premium has no valid license.

Bought a copy of Windows 7 Home Preium I believe at the time, he is out. Earlier this year, my computer died. When a friend he got all repaired them for me instead of using my own copy of Windows, he used a pirated copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. Hack broke and Windows complains of not being authentic. I find and install my copy of Windows 7 Home Premium on it, but he always complains about not being authentic, declaring inadmissible permit despite the use of the product key provided with the CD. A possible cause of this problem and the solutions that I can try?

    Some things to note...

    (1) you seem to have tried a WIndows repair install? -C' is the cause of the two file incompatibilities.

    (2) the 0xc004c4ab error indicates that an operation of Activation is installed.

    (3) a downgrade from Ultimate to Home Premium reuires a clean install.

    (4) the validation breaks seem to complain about your system clock.

You must reformat and reinstall from the adequate support for your key (which seems to be valid) - an Activation exploit will tend to leave the system n a vulnerable state where its security is not guaranteed.

  • A backup copy of programs of productivity on a windows 7 Home premium 64-bit PC back to a new windows 7 Professional 64 bit PC?

My task: I backed up all productivity software to a windows 7 home premium 64 - bit PC (which is currently retired) on an external hard drive. I want to use several of these programs on a new PC running windows 7 Professional 64 bit OS. I think I may have several ways to accomplish this task and seeks your advice on the following techniques.

    1. I could remove the hard drive from the old PC and use it as a second hard drive in the new PC. If I do that I must leave the operating system on the drive?

    2. can I just restore my backup to the new PC?

    3. even though I have the original program CD, license restrictions limit the number of times, some programs can be installed and activated. I have addressed the issues of licensining to several software manufacturers of my software, including shade (by PaperPort, Omnipage, etc.) and am waiting for answers.

    4. I also consider the creation of a system dual boot, but I believe that the windows 7 Home Edition premium OS should be the default OS. This change would probably cancel my warranty with HP.

5 Please, don't limit your answers to the above ideas. I would appreciate your help or suggestions on the best way (if any) to accomplish my task.  Thank you.

Programs don't return because there is more than one program that just running the main folder.

When a program installs it puts the files in the Windows system folders. If these files are not present in the active operating system, they most likely will not work. Much depends on how dependent of the program is on files in system folders.

If you have the original CD for the programs in question, re - install. Relative to the license, as long as the programs are installed and running on a single computer ONLY, there should be no problem at all...

When you program discs, there is no point in dual-boot. Don't make life more difficult for yourself...

  • Large (100 gig +) file transfer fails in Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

    Hello

I ran out of sensible troubleshooting options and am hoping that someone on the forum may be able to provide a solution or additional troubleshooting ideas.

Scenario: I created a 178 concert file, an image of my old laptop XP file to be used for a virtual machine, on an external drive of USB3 for import to my new Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit computer laptop (ASUS N61JQ i7, 4Gig of DDR3 RAM). Operation failed for copy of file on the Win 7 machine (current patches, drive D:, NTFS, 250 free concerts), without error messages, regardless of the method.

    Troubleshooting:

Removes the file structure - exemplary fine for XP SP3 on a different machine, a smaller version (image of the C: drive only) copies very well to new laptop Win7 and creates the virtual machine that works.

Eliminated the USB drive - used 2 different drives

Eliminated from the USB - used Ports all three USB 2 and 3 ports and all failed, tried mapping to machine XP and do a drag and drop and copy and paste and even set up a ftp server on the Win 7 and tried machine download failed him via gigE and 802.11nall.

More advice in this forum and others, I downloaded Teracopy who do not - this failed with a message indicating that "the operation failed due to a file system limitation", but wikipedia shows the limit of file of an order of magnitude larger than my 16 TB file.

I also tried PowerShell coming to stop the copy without error message (resource monitor showed no activity on the external drive - the source of the file).

    I also have:

    • tried disabling / uninstalling antivirus
    • run the copy in safe mode
    • I tried to find answers in the newspaper of the events without success.

All seemed to fail somewhere after 100 gig mark. Often (but not always) failures caused strange behavior, including being unable to , unable to task switch, unable to stop. Often (but not always) a power switch reboot was necessary. My suspicion is that the copy of file is using some pool of memory that is needed by other processes of basic and cause misfortune wide system.

Interestingly, a new file by concatenating a line of 50 concerts three times for 150 gig in the same location as the destination file, a new file in target in the same place creating worked!

After having exhausted the limits of my personal creativity I now submit this problem to the collective wisdom of the tribe. A big thank you in advance, Richard.

    Success!

I tried another file copy utility FastCopy http://ipmsg.org/tools/fastcopy.html.en, he also failed, but with a slightly different error message:

"The requested operation was not successful due to a file system limitation665"

Search on Google that the message has led to this article:

    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/winserverfiles/thread/e0d55018-CF06-43ca-8e20-dd2bb8494c96

... his fundamental premise - de-Frag - did not help (drive was off fragmented already), but the link internally to:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc781134%28WS.10%29.aspx

which is a NTFS bible made me think on the compression of files and directories and of course the compression in this directory was put on, I never use the disk compression so I don't know how it's happened, but once set to 'off', the flow of the copy more than doubled and the copy proceeded until the end!

Things that Microsoft might want to address:

    • I don't see anything in the literature suggesting there is a limitation to the compression of files. Fixing it, or the weakness of advertising would be a good thing
    • None of the built-in tools advised of an error or managed properly, one would think that NTFS has been mature enough so that it would no longer be a problem.

    Sort of, it's fixed now:

    Solution: COMPRESSION SET OFF

Best regards and happy new year

    Richard

  • How do I upgrade/switch to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OF Windows 7 Home Premium 32 Bit?

I noticed that my laptop has 64-bit capabilities. My processor is AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-60 1.90 GHZ. Can someone give me detailed instructions on how to move to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit? Also, I have 2 GB of RAM, and I don't know if I should get another 2 GB for the transition to work. Thank you. ~ Mystery.

@LVTravel my laptop came with Windows Vista installed, but last Christmas, I installed Windows 7 Home Premium. It actually came with 64-bit disk, and the activation key.

I understood the part when you say that I have to reinstall all my programs basically. I'm not sure what you mean by data files, they are available when I insert the backup? Where can I insert the disc to backup at all? My question is, how to restore these "data files"? Also, sorry for all the questions. :)

    ~ Mystery.

Data files are the files that you create with your programs such as movies of documents, spreadsheets Excel, Word, photographs, etc.  If the files have been copied on the device to backup using Windows Explorer you can just copy them to the refurbished computer.  If you used a backup of some program you type then need to use this program to put the files back on the computer.  Some backup programs will create an image of the drive hard and if you do not select the data files only you could possibly replace your 64-bit operating system installation.  I would recommend that you get your cousin to ensure that data is backed up and the restore is performed correctly.

  • Is there a possibility of upgrade version OEM of Windows Vista Home Premium 32 - bit for Windows 7 for free?

I learned from a few sources online that I can get a 'upgrade' for the version OEM of Windows Vista Home Premium 32 - bit for Windows 7 free. Is this true? Should I participate in forums feedback for Windows, etc. in order to acquire such a valuable product?

If not, is there another 'economic' way to get a copy of windows 7?

Really appreciate your time in answering my question.

Despite what you may have "competent" wrong, there is no "free" upgrade to Windows 7.  You can buy Windows 7 from the Microsoft Store. Carey Frisch

  • Need Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - bit license key

    Hello.

I have a desktop computer has Windows 7 Home Premium computer, ended the expiration date, and now I need to activate it using the true 32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium license key (detail).

    I just want to know...

Where can I purchase the genuine license for this key? I am looking for the internet, but I have not found what I want...

If you have used product keys Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit (retail, can be transferred), I will be very thankful to you if you can give me...

Because I have not found the right place to buy, I need your advice to me...

Please I need genuine product key Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - bit retail, where I can buy the product key? If you have one, I'll be very grateful if you give me...

I just avoid software illegal, I have fear of God, if I use the illegal, I just want it to be original...

    Thank you...

Product keys are not sold separately, you will need to buy it as part of a package.

Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this created demand due to its rarity. This means the retail boxed copies request a bonus, while the OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.

You can buy Windows 7 Home Premium 64 or 32 bit OEM System Builder License and use the product key provided to activate your installation.

You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.

There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? Don't ask Microsoft

    Press Windows key + R

    Type: slui.exe 3

    Press enter

Enter the new product key, and then click next to activate over the Internet.
