• ACER Aspire R13 set up as an office

  I just bought an ACER ASpire R13 at costco and I try to use as my office too.  I wanted to know what kind of equipment is recommended to do this, docking station, additional external hard drive, etc. and tips/advice on the implementation.

  I'd start withMediasonic docking station, external keyboard, mouse/trackball. Burner DVD BluRay USB, GB external drive for backup, two monitors 24 "and a line wired gigabit. That's what I have.

• Acer Aspire R13 problems active Pen (R7 - 371T).

  I bought a new R13 Aspire, with recommended acer active pen for this model. Touchpad is flicky and wobbles in his laptop computer screen resolution (very unpleasant to use) place and brightness are great and it is very sensitive to the touch of the finger and capacitive pens.
  However when I use the active stylus, it works very well for about 5 minutes and then it starts to jump and jump and then the pen stops working. After a reboot, pen starts to work, but same thing happens.   I sent my camera previous back and got a new one from microsoftstore. It seems that the problems I had were specific unit. This new one works fine, the touchpad in the last laptop has obviously had a physical since problem she wavered and has not identified any multi-geste.

  I'm happy with this one, it has a pilot updated synaptics, not the most recent one (there is a new Synaptics driver on the Acer site for this laptop that does not yet install) but it works.

  Contacted technical support and asked why not install updates it seems that this model is still a work in progress. They are updating the drivers, software managments power etc.

  Pen Active Acer works very well in ONENOTE, because the application rejects touch capacitive and works only with the participation of digitizer. but in the other Palm apps rejection does not work. I'll trade my pen as well and see if the problem is with the pen or not.

• Acer Veriton N2620G/disconnect keyboard issue

  We set up recently a few new Acer Veriton N2620G thin clients in our call center.  After you have configured an ICA connection, we discovered that if a user presses NumLock and Caps Lock, it disconnects the session... This can happen at any time... login screen, after that they were recorded in during some time... at any time.  We are able to reproduce this on all of our new Acer Veriton N2620G thin clients.  All our thin clients from Wyse existing work perfectly.  We used existing keyboards, we used the keyboards that accompanies the new Acer... same problem.  We configure RDP connections as a test and these function normally... they do NOT disconnect.

  I chatted with the support of DeTOS (OS on the thin client) and their level 1 is zero help.  They tried to transfer me to level 2, but I received a message that they are not open at this time...

  For the record, it was a problem with the version of Citrix ICA Receiver.  Assistance provided an update to the ICA client and he resovled question.

• Acer Aspire E5 - 473G bluetooth issues.

  I don't know if there's a thread on this issue. So be gentle with me on this one.

  In some way, while using my bluetooth headset, listening to music, the audio had disappeared. I have double/triple/quadruple checked my audio on my laptop by turning the power switch bluetooh. The sound was fine without BT, but when I turn it on, the remains of audio problems.

  So I searched on the net it and found that the issue concerned the pilot. When I opened my device manager, several bluetooth drivers related had on yellow triangles. So I "updated" these drivers and even showed "the driver/device is up-to-date. However, when I tried to use my BT headset again, it's the same thing - there was still no audio (well, technically, it was a sound confirming the pairing State / connected to my BT device, and there was still some sounds from my laptop.) But after a few seconds (about 10-20) later, the noise was gone.)

  Is there a driver that I've updated and same "downloaded" who told the driver. When he was done, somehow, I don't know why, the bluetooth on my laptop DISAPPEARED. I checked the settings of the laptop, using devices and there is no Bluetooth not found. I know that it was there before my problem happened.

  Then, I checked on my device manager to see what happened. Now, even the bluetooth device is gone.

  Then I clicked on 'Show hidden devices' and saw the BT drivers with an icon blurred. I did the update again just nothing helps. So what I finally did I "uninstalled" these drivers hidden BT. I then download new drivers of BT to the site hoping to reinstall the driver. But to my dismay, he did nothing. I checked the 'programs and Feautres' on the control panel to see if the new drivers have been installed. It's there, but my bluetooh went still.

  I know this is kind of a long post. I did it so you guys can check where I was wrong. I hope you can help me with that.

  Go to programs and features and uninstall everything concerning Bluetooth. There are 4 drivers for this laptop bluetooth, try first the Atheros and if one does not work, uninstall everything that was installed before that you try the following.

  Hi Nani,

  You can enable or disable your network with a combination of keys on your keyboard, or with a dedicated wireless switch wireless. Acer laptops and netbooks, the following methods are used:

  • A dedicated button located above the keyboard.
  • A rocker switch, located on the front or the side of the unit.
  • The FN and the key with the icon wireless on your keyboard. Usually, the Fn + F3 key combination is used.

  The wireless key can be identified with one of the following icons on or nearby:

  

  Please consult your user manual on how to enable or disable the networks without wire on your specific model.

  When you turn on the wireless feature, a LED on or near the button or toggle switch turns on or a symbol is displayed on your screen.

  NOTE: On models with the slide switch, the switch itself can return to its original position after the wireless function is enabled. This is normal and does not mean that the wireless feature has been disabled.

  THIS CORRECTS THE PROBLEM?

  If your system may detect the available wireless network, the wireless network is enabled. If you cannot connect to a network, visit the Acer problems with wireless networkknowledge base article.

  Where the combination of keys on the keyboard does not work, please visit section of the knowledge base of Acer keyboard shortcuts does not.

  I would recommend also, install the latest network cards on the Acer support website.

  Since I have this laptop with Windows 7 installed, I can't control the cursor movement or keyboard. I turned off the pad and installed a mouse. I adjusted the details slider and mouse in all directions. Yet, too sensitive keyboard and slider eat what I write and pick up parts of words and move them into the text in the wrong place.  It's maddening to try to write anything.  Help, please.

• Acer Aspire V3 - 771G - security issue?

  I just bought this article, I have to install a security drive, as Norton, Kaspersky etc., or that comes pre-loaded.

  I do not know 100% but if you want to check, you can always go in Control Panel, click programs and features and are looking for what is installed. If you recognize a security software that you are happy, then you are good. If there is none or you don't like the program installed, then uninstall the program, you don't want and install the one you want. Of course, I highly recommend that you use some protection at any time. Hope that helps.

• How can I type the characters printed in green on the keyboard of Acer aspire switch 10?

  My (Northern) keyboard on my Acer Aspire switch 10 has some characters printed in green. This includes the backslash character I need desperately. However, I can't find any information in the manual or elsewhere about access (type) these characters. Help, please!

  I tried now. With the help of the button Fn-type only the characters printed in blue. The backslash is printed in green, as is the Danish æ and 0-slash (o). Explaining the problem to my wife, she wanted to give it a go. And to my surprise it resolved in less than a minute. I had missed that the backslash WAS ALSO printed in white on the same key as + and? so, to be able to type it, all I have to do is pressed the Alt - Gr key pressing this key. Stupid of me to do not see it the first time around.

  Getting back to the question initial on the characters printed in green, I came to the conclusion that it is "conversion" of the keyboard in a Danish provision of individual countries by specifying this keyboard layout in Windows settings. Similarly, there are a few characters printed in red. I assume these are Norwegians.

  This type of complexity, that's what you get when manufacturers want to reduce country-variants for as little as possible, I guess.

  However, there is a downside. They keyboard is in German. I think that the German layout is QWERTZ?

  This problem has been reported after that install some recently released update of windows... Currently the ability to perform a restore of the system to an earlier date. You can also try to uninsatlling updates of windows manually from Control Panel > windows update.
