Dell PowerEdge T610 (memory upgrade)

I bought Dell 16 GB certified replacement Memory Module for select Dell - 2Rx4 1333 MHz RDIMMS LV systems

Currently, I have 8 GB of RAM (1 GB on every slot machines). After I installed this new memory and restart the server, it shows invalid memory configuration. So, I changed the memory setting in BIOS 'Advanced ECC' to 'optimize memory '. But it detects more than my current speed of the memory is 8 GB. Is there something wrong with the configuration of the memory? I tried to re - establish the new RAM.

Help, please. Thank you.

Hello.

Your memory configuration is not valid because the channel memory CH0, is not balanced with channels CH1 & CH2. Refer to the schematic illustration below:

In order to balance the memory on these channels, we should have memory DIMM in:

A1, A2 & A3 = B1, B2 & B3 in addition also A4, A5 & A6 is B4, B5 & B6. That's why CH0, CH1 & CH2 memory modules must be identical for the performance and optimal memory configuration. Depending on the upgrade amount of memory you are looking for, you can buy 1 more 16 GB DIMMS and then fill in slots A1 B1 & offer a total capacity of 32 GB. This will provide more flexibility for future memory upgrade

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have this server in the office: dell poweredge t610.

    Configured with raid 5.

Two of your hard drive has failed, so I replaced the. After the replacement, used windows. Boot. I installed a fresh installation of windows 2008, after a reboot once the installation is complete. I know that the following message:

    System initialization, please wait...

To start replication, please insert your disk replication.

Replication will begin once the system has started.

    I don't have a disk of replication.

    How can I solve this?

  • Dell PowerEdge T610 and ESXi 4.0 integrated

    Hello world

My company has just purchased a new Dell PowerEdge T610 as our first server VM. They bought exactly the same configuration that Dell recommended for virtualization, which came with an option to get the ESXi 4.0 embedded. By charging Dell about $ 2000 for the premium service when buying the ESXi, society has decided that we will install ESXi embedded ourselves (on a SD card or USB key).

And so the task was given to me

Now, here's the problem I encounter. I downloaded the ESXi 4.0 installable with customization of Dell, and it seems to work fine on a USB key. But I can't find the instructions on how to actually install the embedded and non ESXi 4.0 installable version. I have ESXi 4.0 installable on the stick, but how do I get the embedded installed on it (or SD card). I see that people have done with ESXi 3.5, but all it seems to be there on the net about installing ESXi embedded yourself is only how to install the installable on the USB. It's a stupid, and built-in question is nothing more then a installable on a USB?

    Sorry for a newbie question...

Thank you very much in advance!

    André

integrated, installable should be the same, the difference is that with the integrated option you would not need to install

  • Upgrade memory Dell PowerEdge T610?

    Hi, I have a T610 with 8 GB (4 x 2G 2Rx8 PC3-8500R). I would put more than 8 GB, (4 x PC3-10600R 2 G 2Rx8). Works? What is the best setting?

    [of]

    Hello.

How many processors you have installed?  There are several guidelines of population of memory including memory on all channels balanced for optimal performance.

For a single processor, you will only be able to use six modules because of this limitation, where:

    A1, A4, A2A5, A3A6: 2GB with capacity of 12 GB total memory

    For the two processors:

A1A4, A2A5 & B1B4, B2B5: 2GB gives the ability of memory of 16 GB. I advise to use strips of memory ability higher such as 4 GB, 8 GB, or even 16 GB because they offer memory expansion more and robust.

  • Dell inspiron 15R Memory Upgrade N5110

    Hello

I have a dell inspiron N5110, and I plan on upgrading the RAM modules, which are estimated at 1333hz. I would like to know if the motherboard can support modules of RAM at higher frequencies, if so, how much of a gain of performance can I expect.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Fastest modules may work but will not increase the speed - 1333 MHz is the speed of memory limit in this model.

  • The RAID on the PowerEdge T610 controller upgrade

This system came with a SAS6/iR controller and after the installation of Server R2 2012 and with 32 GB of RAM it's on all fours, probably because we use software RAID 5. I want to upgrade RAID controller so that I can use hardware RAID 5. What controllers are compatible with the T610? I know that the H710 is eligible, but what about the H710P and the H810? We have a bottom of basket that holds 8 discs. Do we need anything else? I see that some people needed cables as well.

PERC 6 / i and the H700 are validated for the T610. The Hx10 are 12 generation servers (like T620, T610 is 11G). H8x0 controllers are for external storage.

Main differences between H700 or PERC 6:

PERC 6 is 3Gbps, max disk 2 TB, 256 MB cache
    PERC H700 is cache cache/memory NVRAM 6Gpbs, TB + 2 disks, 512 MB or 1 GB

  • Dell Dimension 8200 Memory Upgrade after upgrade the processor

    Hello

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 (shipping date is 01/05/2002) which came with a FSB of 400. I've recently updated the its origianl 1.8 GHz a 2.4 GHz processor.  I understand that the 8200 with a FSB of 400 can use 800-40ns or 800-45ns memory sticks (I think that mine came with 800-45).  I intend to upgrade memory 1 GB to 4 X 512 (2GB), I installed (4 X 256).  My question is when I went to buy the 4 X 512 memory, said the pub, it could be used in a 8200 with a 2.1 GHz CPU or less.  I have a 2.4 GHz chip. Is that going to be a problem?

    Rbatleman,

Great question!  When the Dimension 8200 was released the processor speed max was 2.1 ghz (probably why the memory you were viewing had this label).   We have updated later to the processor 2.4 ghz when it was available.  The two units came with the PC800-45 (400 mhz) memory, you should run into any problems with this memory.  Keep in mind the system supports only the RIMM modules that contain devices memory of 4, 8 or 16.  I hope this helps!

  • PowerEdge T310 - Memory upgrade Question

I'm trying to upgrade a T310 to 16 GB of memory. It has a processor Xeon 3430 2.4 GHz with 8 GB of memory installed factory - four 2 GB 1Rx8 DIMM. I want to spend a total of 16 GB so tried to add two 2RX8 4G memory ECC low voltage according to the recommendations of upgrade parts from Dell. The server will not start. I looked through the forum and Dell manuals to try to understand this. Can I switch to 16 GB with 8 GB of memory installed in existing plant, or do I have to replace the existing memory with four 4 GB RDIMMs? Thank you! Bev S

The DIMMs you listed are actually UDIMM, why upgrade Rdimms do not work for you. Now with those being UDIMM the T310 only supports using total 4 DIMM. In order to reach 16, you will need to replace the existing 2 GB UDIMM with 4 x 4 GB UDIMM.   Which is the same as using just the 2 8 GB Rdimms only to hit the total of 16 GB you are looking for.

  • Dell Dimension B110: Memory upgrade problem

I have problems with my upgrade memory. I bought a few 1GBX2 2 GB of memory, and I know that my computer can take because I had done the research before I bought the memory. But with I put memory he doesn't recognize her, it's like id I have no memory what so ever in the machine. I was wondering if there was something that I'm supposed to do or change to get the ram to read. It takes PC-3200 RAM type.

And another thing... I have 512 MB of RAM, but he acknowledges as 504 MB of RAM... Any reason why it's like that?

    Specifications of the computer:

    Microsoft Windows XP
    Professional
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 3

    Intel [R]
    Celeron (R) CPU 2.53 GHz

  • Dell Optiplex GX520 Memory Upgrade

Hello, I install 4 GB of memory on Dell Optiplex GX520.

Of memory can what type I install?

PC2-4200 is not fast enough for some of the processors supported FSB.

Faster RAM doesn't hurt anything, but it may not work at the fastest speed, unless the processor is running at top speed for the FSB also.

    • PC2-4200 = 533 MHz clock
    • PC2-5300 = 667 MHz clock
    • PC2-6400 = 800 MHz clock

  • Dell XPS 8500 - memory upgrade problems

I bought a Dell XPS 8500 nine a couple of years.  It came with 8 GB of memory (2-4 GB DDR 3 1600).  Recently, I picked up two sticks of 8 GB, DDR-3 new, 1600.  In total, this should give me 24 GB of memory.

Currently, housing 1 and 3 are using 4 GB sticks and slot 4 has a key of 8 GB.  If I try to stick the other stick in slot 2, the system does not start.  I assumed it was because a bad stick, so I went back to the store and I replaced it, but the problem persists.  I can get a total of 16 GB, which is recognized in the system.  According to Dell, and Crucial, this system should support up to 32 GB.

This system only supports the memory to some total amounts, as the 16/08/32?  I checked my BIOS is updated as well.

I'd appreciate any comments on it.  Thank you!

If you consult the technical data sheet, the only supported RAM configs are: 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 32 GB.

    Read this.

EDIT: And modules are best installed in pairs, so 2 x 4 GB + 1x8GB is not an optimal config.
