  • Acer monitor mid 2011 MacAir connection

    Hello Apple community support...

I am trying to determine if the monitor I wish to order will connect to my thumb 11 mid-2011 MacAir Running El Capitan.

My Mac Air is a Mid 2011 and the processor is an Intel Core i7 to 1.8 Ghz with 4 GB of ram.  It is a machine that I use on a daily basis and it still works fine.  (There is a link below for Costco.com and the monitor I want to connect to).

I would like to order me a monitor to connect to this gem and found a beautiful 28 "HD monitor by Acer at Costco for $299.   I'd like to get the monitor Apple Thunderbolt, in fact, I held off because that is what I wanted, but alas $1000 still holds back me.  If I get this until maybe one day I can have the curtains match the carpet and get Thunderbolt display.

I want to order this ACER monitor I found online, but I have to be sure that I can connect it to my Mac Air... He says he has a multitude of additional ports, including MHL®, DVI & Display Port allow you to connect other devices, such as your laptop or smartphone, to broaden your perspective of a larger screen.

    Connectivity:

    • 1 x HDMI DVI
    • 1 x DVI with HDCP

    1. can I connect this to my MacAir?

    2. I need a cable or a special adapter (stroke of lightning to the DVI port or display)?

    3. I also need to have my hip MacAir or Air will receive power via display port (I doubt it).

If you can help understand me this I would be so very happy!

    Thank you!

    Ruben

There is a problem that I have not been able to fix & that's when I want to connect an external monitor Acer - X223h or AL2216W.

Windows 7 does not detect monitors.

In this post the solution was to turn off the monitor, etc...

This has not worked for me :)

In other posts, I read that I just need to click on the "Detect" button but it doesn't matter!

The site of Acer and Lenovo both have no Windows 7 driver for these monitors & when I rang them to aid what they told me that it is a problem with Windows 7 :(

Has anyone had this problem with Acer monitors & solved the problem?

    TIA

It's the GRAPHICS drivers you are looking for.  Until your laptop has the correct drivers, Windows cannot correctly identify monitors.  Once they are installed, it should search and find two monitors Acer and install the drivers by itself.

  • I just got a new Acer monitor - but now I have no sound, because there is nowhere where to plug in the connection - what I do

I have a new monitor, which has no connection to speakers - speakers integrated supposedly.  But I have no sound - what should I do?

What type of connection the monitor use (between the monitor and CPU)? Have you checked the folder sounds and Audio devices in Control Panel to make sure that the sound is turned on?

Your best bet is probably to contact Acer technical support (FAQ or maybe forums) to help with this problem.

    Hello

My OS is Windows 10 64-bit. I use Google Chrome and IE 11. What is the recommended screen resolution and screen refresh rate?

    Thank you

Native resolution is the resolution that will give you the best image viewing. The text may be small, but there are settings in Windows Vista, you can change to enlarge the text and icons. I included a link below.

  • Third monitor does not work with Eyefinity more

I am trying to run 3 monitors on my ATI HD 5770

I have two computers that, for years, have worked with several thin monitors... until very recently.  Through all my updates to the OS, they continued to work.  I don't remember exactly at what time each card has ceased to power its third monitor.  Each of my "third monitors" would come on periodically until they all finally stopped.

All monitors are working fine as I juggle the cables and adapters each refreshes and lights up but not all at the same time.

Here's what I have available for troubleshooting.

I have two Mac Pros below.  (OS 10.11.6) on one and (OS 10.7.5) on the other.

Each tower has (2) 5770 cards installed that each have a DVI and 2 mini ports.

So I have a total of (4) cards and is starting the new one that I got on ebay last week.

    I have LG E2350V 23 "monitors (6) and (3) 22" ACER monitors

All my cables are active and I have several active adapters

I just bought some passive extra and many very active adapters to the experience and trouble shooting with.

Thanks in advance for the help and time!

DisplayPort and its variant electrically identical but small size Mini DisplayPort and the implementation which is a subset of Thunderbolt, any differential use (push-pull) of signals pilot very low voltage. They are MORE immune to noise than old methods because the signal is encoded on the difference between the two signals, not a single signal referenced to a "everybody" on the ground. If possible, you must connect all screens with DisplayPort [full-size] or Mini DisplayPort. These put a lot less load on your system.

When you convert this very low level signal to an "inherited" display, the map is short of ability to directly signal levels in the car high enough to be recognized after connection of TWO monitors legacy of any kind. If you choose to use a DVI or HDMI port supplied directly, that still counts as one of your two "free" conversions (It is also possible that a very fussy display is moved even earlier).

All display "legacy" beyond the first two requires ACTIVE description adapters. Adapters ASSETS contain re-drivers of signal and are therefore more expensive than ordinary adapters. Typical prices are of the order of $ 40, but competition has lowered some prices slightly. Mini DisplayPort has a descendant-comparability mode requested by the regular cards, who can get to produce a Single-Link DVI signal to up to 1920 wide, but a regular adapter not pushed the signal levels.

The Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI Dual-Link, which is used for DVI displays wider width of 1920, is more complex and expensive and requires extra power beyond all signal re-pilots. This power is usually taken on a tail of pig USB, USB data are generally not used by the adapter, so a different USB power source can be overridden.

  • Satellite A200-1AX - External monitor reset

I got my car and Acer monitor 20 inch and after a few minutes of use resets the monitor (becomes black and goes up to 1280 x 800).
I tried on a different Satellite A200 with same works card (my brothers) like a charm, but when his hook on mine it keeps resetting. And also I see horizontal lines on the screen.

My model is TOSHIBA Satellite A200-1AX (with a vga HD 2600 card).

    Hello

You can disable the option in the power options of Vista to prevent mode standby when the lid is closed.

    > I got my self and Acer monitor 20 inch and after a few minutes of use resets the monitor (becomes black and goes up to 1280 x 800).
However, reading this post I'm not sure if your external monitor goes black or the A200 display internal.
    Is what screen affected?

Did you try a BIOS and update the display driver?
If this is not the case, check this box!

  • iMac (2008) - monitor external glitter

I have an iMac, and there is a problem when I try to connect an external monitor. When the secondary monitor is connected, the photo shows well. However, as soon as I do something that causes an animation on the second screen (move an application window, click on the top menu, etc...), the external Monitor flashes black for a second when there is activity of GUI/animation, then returns. Sometimes you can see small lines of pixels, with random colors during the flashing. It will continue to do so on several occasions, especially if I use the programs normally on the primary monitor (built-in) on the iMac.

    Plug the iMac:

    • Mac OS x 'El Capitan' 10.11.3 (latest version at display time)
    • "At the beginning of 2008' iMac aluminum
    • 20 "@ 1680 x 1050 screen
    • Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz
    • 4 GB (2x2gb) DDR2 RAM
    • HARD DRIVE 500 GB
    • ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB
    • Connected to monitor like this:
      • iMac-> Mini-DVI to DVI (from Apple brand)-> DVI cable-> Acer monitor

    Acer Monitor Details:

    • Model X193W
    • Resolution of 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz
    • More Details.

    Triggers for monitor flicker:

    • Move windows app.
    • Using any application as usual (on the 2nd monitor)
    • Using any application as usual (on iMac LCD screen)

    What did not monitor flash:

    • Simply by moving the slider on the 2nd screen.
    • Boot without failure (update at startup) and train over triggers. (Photo of loads vertically and slowly for a reason if any...).
    • Connection of the monitor to a Windows PC Acer (works perfectly normal).

    I have tried (without success):

    • Reset the SMC.
    • Reset the PRAM.
    • Reinstall the RAM memory. (why not)
    • Starts in safe mode (apparently the system caches deletes) and boot back to normal.
    • Monitor power cycling then the iMac was on and out.
    • With the help of option "Detect displays" in the display settings (do not do anything).
    • Different cables DVI.
    • Another mini-DVI to DVI (first and third parts) adapters
    • Has tried to Update the firmware GPU (System reported that it didn't need this update).
    • Reinstalled OS X (El Capitan).
    • Ran the Apple Hardware Test (AHT) - system is OK.

I've been reading around online, and it's apparently something with a lot of other people with similar iMacs. There was never a clear solution in other areas of discussion, then maybe I'll just ask here. What is going on? I have a hunch that it's a software/OS problem, as everything seems to work very well. You figure that these iMacs should be able to endure without problem even more big screens as the Apple Cinema HD Display 30 "monitor...

Obviously, taking this Apple iMac and throw money at them until it works are not an appropriate solution, is not buying a new machine. The iMac is already well beyond the warranty period, because it is from 2008. However, since he is still able to support latest Apple OS desktop, we should expect so he could support a secondary monitor of all things - the mini-DVI port is not there for nothing!

Y at - it any sort of solution to this problem, or even a workaround?

I suspect the problem may be caused or associated connector, not all are built as so it is wise to purchase high quality connectors Mini DVI to DVI. If this does not work, do a few resets base such as the iMac SMC and PRAM reset s. default of these, then your mail GPU gets old. Don't forget that your computer is almost 10 years old now if things will begin to deplete. Finally, consider testing with a different external screen, consider that what is perhaps too.
