Acrobat crashing at random times

I have a user who has Adobe Acrobat Standard.11. Fully patched.  Windows 7 Ultimate SP1.  The app crashes several times a day.  I tried the repair installation, uninstallation and reinstallation, more variety 'solutions' I thought that may have addressed the issue, that I found via Google.  My last effort was to clean up the system and re - build.  We still get crashes.  There is a window indicating that adobe Acrobat stopped working and event ID 1000 is logged.  Here are some samples:

I really need for that to be resolved.

Brad

Hey Brad,

Run the Acrobat cleaning tool to remove all traces of Acrobat:

Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat cleaning tool - Adobe Labs

Now install XI Acrobat standard again the link mentioned below:

Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X

Now, please check when Acrobat crashes and let me know.

Kind regards

Ana Maria

  • Firefox crashes at random times.

For several months now, Firefox has been crashing at random times. I've been ignoring most of the time, but it's happened more often these days, so I finally want to try to understand what is happening. I guess it has to do with the add - it and the extension of the conflict, but if so, I don't know which ones, and I don't know how to read the crash reports. I tried the update of Firefox (as well as my Add-ons and plug-ins) several times, but it did not help. And as far as I know, it doesn't seem to be something specific causing accidents. Sometimes, this will happen when I go to a Youtube link, and sometimes it's going to happen when I'm in the middle of reading plain text. And sometimes, when I don't do anything.

I am currently using Firefox 24.0 on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I run malware scans regularly with MBAM and SUPERAntiSpyware, which none have done anything malicious in the recent past. Here is my latest 5 crash reports:

  • Acrobat crashes each time after language change once

    Hello

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.14 on W7_64. A few days ago I connected to my computer via desktop remotely from a non EN-US keyboard and used the computer with Acrobat with this keyboard layout.

Since then, whenever I open Acrobat, disappears from the Windows language bar and Acrobat crashes, sometimes recovers from this state after 10 minutes, sometimes I need to put an end to the force. When I change the focus to any other application, the language bar returns. This occurs even when no document is open.

I thank very you much for your time and your help.

  • Hi .___Vista crashed a few times, then don't load in front of Microsoft Corporation at the beginning of the load upward. How can I solve this problem?

system crashed a few times and gave windows normally load or run the Startup Repair tool. I tried to start up normally, but never loaded past screen of Microsoft Corp.  A repaired several times and charged a charge repair screen that once finished, restarted the laptop and vista as normally. But even once she kept at random crashing.  However, after a few times doing this repair, at the launch of the service, he went to repair Viao tools. My experience is somewhat limited, so would not recover the C drive or perform a full recovery.

I can get it to boot in safe mode, but it does not create a restore point or going to a restore point when I go into Control Panel.  It doesn't even have a tab on the system protection on the main system settings protection program.

Can anyone help? We have never had any problems with this laptop in over a year. Have software anti-virus, spyware and adware checks regulalry while it was strange it just started crashing.

    I thank in advance

    my perfume

Restart your computer and press the F8 key until you reach the Advanced Startup Options menu. Perform the following steps:

    1. Select the safe mode with command prompt.

    2. at the command prompt , type sfc/scannow (there is a space between the c and /).

  • Distiller will suddenly end/crash the * SECOND * time I open a file for conversion to PDF.

The subject says it all: Distiller will suddenly end/crash the * SECOND * time I open a file for conversion to PDF.

But I think I have an idea why this is happening. In general, I use Distiller to convert EPS or PS files as PDF files. In addition, almost without fault, I incorporate the required (only of Type 1) fonts directly in files EPS/PS (using the required format to PFA) so no local fonts on my computer are needed to be looked at to distill in to be embedded in the file PDF. they are already in the EPS/PS files.

But yesterday, I tried to convert EPS/PS files to PDF using Distiller in which I had NOT embedded fonts Type 1 (PFA format, of course) in the source of EPS/PS files. All first this conversion would work (in which I select "open" and choose an EPS/PS file for conversion), but after this initial conversion, the * SECOND * time I clicked "Open" the file, Distiller would immediately close/crash.

Then, I searched the web for answers and discovered that some people have trouble distilling to initialize if all their computer system fonts were read-only. So I went back to my EPS/PS files and embedded fonts Type 1 (PFA format) required in them and then - as if by magic - distill worked without a hitch: I could open and convert any number of them in succession, with distilling never close / crashing.

Then, I found the reason why distilling had been crashing at the second attempted to open a file (once again, simply by pressing the "open" button to find a file to convert, * no * after selecting a file) must have something to do with distilling scanning fonts installed on my computer, when there was no PFA font incorporated to make reference to , and a read only font on my system was the cause of the problem. However, I have looked in both places of logic where my fonts must be located (c:\psfonts and c:\windows\fonts), but found * no. attributes * files fonts defined in 'read only' so, I'm stumped.

I use Distiller Pro 10.1.1316 (acrodist.exe) on a machine to earn 8.1. I found similar positions, which dates back to 2004, about Distiller crashing immediately after opening when certain fonts are read-only; I haven't found a post about anyone successfully using Distiller to convert EPS or PS to PDF and then have the program crash when the "Open" button is pressed subsequently. The clues, anyone?

Background: Distiller Server is a product discontinued long - ago - use of Distiller server is now simply prohibited, and LiveCycle PDF Generator is available for servers.

Since you are not using Distiller Server and this forum is essentially abandoned, I recommend that you try the Acrobat - forum creation (etc.) instead.

  • Acrobat crashing since 9.4.1 update

I'm getting errors similar to the one below since installation the 9.4.1 patch on Acrobat Pro.  I can't perform actions within the program, same "help > about" the application crashes.  The errors only occur when the user running the program is not running as an administrator (i.e. limited user/no running the high program).  Administrator accounts have no problem launching and using Acrobat.  Errors occur in XP and 7 (x 86).  On XP, the error is posted on the DEP, 7, DEP is not meant at all.  The material is the same on both machines (information system under the error).  Someone saw this and anyone can offer me a software patch or workaround that does not disable DEP or running the application as an administrator?

Note, I have no problem with 9.4.1 on the drive, its impact only on the pro version.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help us with that.

    Hi Matt,

Have you found a solution to this problem in which Acrobat crashes after update 9.4.1. If this isn't the case, I would like to share a possible solution.

Most likely, the problem is that for the four files (Escript.api authplay.dll, Air\nppdf32.dll and Browser\nppdf32.dll), BuiltIn\Users not having to read and execute permissions. You can open and change the permissions for each file manually or you can do the same by using a built-in windows utility 'icacls'.

Assuming that you have installed Acrobat in the default directory i.e. C:\Program Files\Adobe..., you will need to run following 4 commands BACK to repair file permissions. Commands are, that you can run one by one in the administrator command prompt window.

XP: Start-> Run-> type 'CMD' and press enter

On Vista\Win 7: start-> type 'CMD', right-click on "Cmd.exe" and select "run as administrator".

    ICACLS "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\plug_ins\EScript.api" / grant Builtin\Users:RX / t

    ICACLS "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\authplay.dll" / grant Builtin\Users:RX / t
    ICACLS "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Air\nppdf32.dll" / grant Builtin\Users:RX / t
    ICACLS "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Browser\nppdf32.dll" / grant Builtin\Users:RX / t

Once you have run the four commands as on the screenshot above, restart your computer and start Acrobat. I hope that it will now work without crashing.

Please let me know if this information has helped you.

  • Request master password at random times

request password to master at first, with just enough delay to be annoying, then seemingly random times asking once again, if you just cancel firefox continues to be merrily along, a feature really annoying

This can also occur if you use the synchronization.

The synchronization used in Firefox 34 version then use password manager to store the name (e-mail) and password to use to connect to the synchronization server.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

Hi, according to engineers at mozilla to research in the associated bug report, this accident is probably caused by malicious software that is active on a system.

so, please run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes, adwcleaner, & kaspersky security scan.

  • Firefox crashes almost every time that I try to attach a document. Why?

I just had a new PC from Dell XPS Dimension w/Win 8.1. She doesn't have Firefox, so I downloaded (version 29.0.1).

Almost every time that I try to attach a document, for example, a photo or other file, Firefox crashes. The accident occurred when I double-click on the directory or folder that contains the document I want to join. I presented in reports half a dozen incidents in recent days.

Instead of double-click, I tried everything just clicking once on the button that appears when I OPEN request to attach a document. This reduces the frequency of accidents, but did not eliminate them.

Accidents that occurred when I was trying to attach a document to an email in yahoo mail. The accidents have also occurred when I was trying to add a photo to an article I wrote for Examiner.co using their publishing tool.

I just changed from Windows XP. DO Firefox crashed when I tried to do in XP.

I tried to reproduce the problem in Internet Explorer 11, which came with my PC. I was not able to reproduce the problem with the Explorer.

    What is going on?

I could not identify a reason for the accident. Now, I try to reproduce your crash on Yahoo for the setting of a document.
Other users have reported than the update of Java fixed the problem. (reference: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../949408) Please update Java in the current version

You can also download CCleaner to destroy things that are no longer necessary and can cause problems. Just use the Windows section, do not delete anything since Firefox while CClaner because it can screw with your installation of Firefox.

EDIT: Thank you to fill out a bug if the steps above do not work
