Norton antivirus has been updated to support Windows 8 end of September this year. If you have a Symantec account when you installed NAV then you can upgrade to the latest version that your product key appears as part of your account information.

Uninstall NAV 2012, download the latest version of the Symantec web site and use your key to activate it.

  • Using Norton AntiVirus with the iMac

For years I used Norton AntiVirus on my iMac with no problems that I know.  Recently, a novice iMac user was informed by a person from a person of type Geek Squad remove Norton AntiVirus from his Mac immediately because it destroys all of Apple security that protects us.  Is there any truth to this?

Norton AV is NOT recommended for any Mac. Norton has a long sordid history of manufacturing OS X unstable and creates more problems than it solves. OS X is extremely secure and doesn't require any AV, cleaning or other third-party applications 'maintenance' to function well. So simply kept up to date OS X in most cases will run without problem for years. I HIGHLY recommend that you uninstall Norton by following instructions to uninstall Norton!

  • I receive a notice to upgrade Fox Mozilla, but I understand that I will not be able to use my Norton Antivirus. I have to keep it. What should I do?

Hi, if missing the bookmarks toolbar, right-click in the bar tabs (but not on a tab) and tick/check bookmarks toolbar.

If the Bookmarks button is missing, open the 3-bar menu > customize, customize and if you can see, simply drag a toolbar to the location of your choice, then exit to save. If the button is not there, try clicking on default settings. More here - controls customize Firefox, buttons, and toolbars.

  • How to uninstall Norton AntiVirus of my EL Capitan iMac running?

The version of Norton Antivirus, I had before the update to EL Captian does not work with El Capitan, apparently. I want to uninstalled and you are using Symantec Endpoint Protection (which, by the way told me, works better than Norton).

When I tried to install Symantec the computer says that there is an another anti-virus program in use because of it and my computer can't install Symantec. I tried to go to the applications folder and drag in the Norton Virus folder Recycle Bin, then empty the trash and even to do and then restart the computer. I have the same result every time, of course miss me something, because the program is not completely uninstall (it shows in my vertical desk... Any ideas?

    Thank you

One or more of the following may apply:

Uninstall Norton Internet Security for Mac

Remove programs from Symantec for Macintosh using the RemoveSymantecMacFiles removal utility

    RemoveSymantecMacFiles

If you want your Mac to work as it is designed to work, do not install non-Apple "antivirus." Please read of effective defenses against software malware and other threats.

  • I want to get Norton AntiVirus Toolbar for Firefox 17.1. Does anyone know IF or WHEN this is possible?

I just downloaded the latest version of Firefox - 17.01.4715 - but now my Norton Antivirus toolbar no longer appears. I've updated everything, etc.but, people of Norton told me I have to get back to 16 Firefox toolbar to work. This is unacceptable. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this? Or when Norton will get off their royal butt and update their toolbar is compatible?

If you use Norton 1012 then you should do Norton liveupdate support Firefox 17

Norton has actually be pretty good in having a update for a new major version of Firefox the same day or within a few days since Firefox 5.0. However, Norton will be screwing Firefox users when Firefox 18.0 comes out as needed to update then 2013 Norton.

  • Norton Antivirus slows down startup time in Windows Vista

    Hello

need help please, I am led to madness by starting slow time of my laptop.
I he had only a few weeks and don't use it for anything beyond to produce documents word etc.

It has been gradually slower on boot and I suspect it has something to do with the protection of Norton antivirus on it software and updates for norton I downloaded (thinking that it was the right thing to do).

Looking at the log for problems and solutions on the computer, the date on which he began really to slow coincides with downloading an update to norton, which I could not uninstall to check if that's really the problem.

In addition, I tried to do a system restore, my laptop could not complete.
I'm stuck on the screen of the BACK for 10 minutes with the message:
PXE - E32 TFTP open timeout

I have no idea what it means, but the newspaper issues and Solutions said something about a blocking of the system?

I looked on the web for other virus protection software and they all seem to have a problem or slow computers and another down to the start.

Did someone knows a solution or should I just make a cup of tea when I turn on my computer and lace with vodka until it is fully charged to the top!

I am a novice when it comes to using computers so would like to receive technical advice.

    Thank you

    Hi guys

I would like to add a few words about my experience using the Symantec Norton Antivirus software.
I used this software long 3 years. It was great because it supports one of the best options for filtering viruses, BUT it really slow downs the operating system.
I didn t use on preinstalled Vista laptop but on Win XP and I must say that the laptop boot process was stopped about 30 sec - 1 min until the entire parts of Norton Antivirus software has started, it is very annoying

However, I went to AntiVir. It is described by marina4000 software and I really happy because the startup performance of m.

So finally, I also recommend delete this Symantec Norton Antivirus software and switch to other free AntiVir software ;)

    Good bye

    Hello

I recommend to check the tips on the Symantec Norton:
    http://Service1.Symantec.com/support/NAV.nsf/docid/2004090712504306?OpenDocument&LG=en&CT=UK&SEG=HHO& src = eu_hot

The use of the recovery CD will set your laptop to original settings.
I mean, the recovery CD will format the whole HARD drive and will delete all your files

  • Satellite M70: Cannot install Symantec's Norton Antivirus successfully

    I have a Toshiba satellite M70-PSM73-SR2 laptop.
I recently managed to move from Xp Home Xp pro Ed. Since then, I'm trying to re - install my Symantec Norton AntiVirus 2003 but I get the following message is displayed:
"The wizzard was interrupted until the Symantec Antivirus client could be completely installed. Your system has not changed. To complete installation at another time, please run the Setup again. »

It's been two days now that I run the installation program again, I get the same message.
    Can anyone help?

All I can add is that the laptop came with a norton antivirus 2005 valid for 3 months. After 3 months, under Xp home Ed, I have successfully installed my Norton 2003. Now, after having changed the OS to Xp pro, I am unable to complete the installation of Norton 2003.

  • Firefox (which has apparently anti-virus protection) is usable on a computer with already installed Norton antivirus?

I said that I can only have 1 antivirus program on my computer at the same time. Since firefox has features antivirus, can install it on a computer that already has a Norton antivirus program?

    User Agent

    Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.0; WOW64; Trident/4.0; GTB6.5; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; .NET CLR 3.5.21022; .NET CLR 3.5.30729 .NET CLR 3.0.30729; NET4.0C)

Firefox does not include anti-virus protection, you need a separate program such as Norton anti-virus.

  • Norton AntiVirus 2005 installation failure

    Hello!
I have a Toshiba Equium A 60 in November. With her, he had a three month pre installed Norton Internet Security and AntiVirus 2005. After its expiry, I uninstalled the Norton files using Add / Remove programs in the control panel. Then when you try to install an original copy of Norton AntiVirus 2005 it not to continue with a message indicating a failure of the installation. I have been informed that the old software (three months preinstalled) is still alive and it blocks the installation of the original copy of a year. Now even if I restore Toshiba to its original game upwards (using the DVD provided with my Toshiba when first purchased) offer of three months of Norton Internet Security and AntiVirus 2005 will install automatically; Therefore, the problem persists. Please can you advise on a way out?
    With my best regards.
