  Have you already tried to install an earlier version of the software function button on your system? I think the new version is buggy and if not already a newer version is released, you should have the old version until a new one comes out.

  Please check if the old version works, it shouldn´t be a big problem for the single download from the Toshiba driver download site.

  When the repair of Windows opens, click on the tab to start repairs, click Start. Uncheck all boxes except for the following:
  -Reset the registry permissions
  -Reset the permissions of files
  -WMI repair
  -Repair Windows Firewall
  Then click Start. Once it is finished, restart your computer. Let us know if that helps you.

  Normally the Vista drivers are compatible with Windows 7 but that s not always done. I think you should test this because it s always according to the version of the driver and your equipment.

  If n t work Vista drivers you need to use a preinstalled OS to Toshiba or you are looking for on the pilot sites.

  Hello UnderNewbie. I see that you have questions about upgrading to Windows 8. When you bought your laptop? HP should lower drivers for most laptops purchased after October 1, 2011. Here more information on HP and the upgrade to Windows 8.

  I suggest you try the Microsoft upgrade tool to determine what elements of hardware are already supported by the operating system directly. Here a link to the Microsoft upgrade wizard. This should give you a good idea of what is currently supported.

  Currently there are sections of Windows 8 for your laptop to Windows 8 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 8, but it is currently only one driver listed.   Thus, more things should be supported in the future.  Keep an eye on this section and expect more updates.  Enjoy your experience of Windows 8!

• Two issues I think are linked: connectivity and Windows Firewall status. Service dependency dose not exist or has been marked for deletion.

  I reinstall a Menory card to check the weather it was defective. I also reset CMOS as part of the process. (Recommended HP) I found that the card was faulty. After reboot, I had security alerts that Windows Firewall did not work. And also unable to connect to the Internet.  I restarted the Sprint after disconnection and reconnection there. (USB) I was able to get the Internet, but the red X connection
  on the screen in the taskbar never changed to "land". Hovering on it said "dependence on the dose of service not exist or has been deleted. Everything I tried for this problem, either online or offline has failed.
  Pretty much the same thing for Windows Firewall, I can't change the settings, turn on and dosen't snap so. Eror code 0x6D9. Also get code MSSvcservice 87 (0 X 609). Both are still declining. Can't get in Windows Firewall / Advanced to change settings or turn on firewall. Cannot find Microsoft Firewall Client ISA server, look like, go.
  Right now I'm pretty frustrated, been working on this a day and half and I'm pretty well lost.

  This could be due to that... What are the analyses of different viruses that you already have... It may be a product of firewall or security of third parties that interfere the windows firewall, disable one by one your security scanners and try for windows firewall

  (2)if you do not have these installed firewall products, this could be due to malicious software or some other problem...

  If you have an antivirus up to date solution its definitions and do a full scan of the system...

  If you do not have an antivirus solution, or one does not work, use one of the recommended tools (use only one at a time)

  What service pack is installed on the computer?

  Method 1:

  You can run the fixit from following link and check:

  Method 2:

  Re-configure the firewall, then check the issue.

  a. Click Start, click Run, type cmd and then click OK.

  c. restart Windows,

  d. click on start, run, type cmdand then click OK.

  e. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

  Netsh firewall reset

  f. Click Start and run, type firewall.cpl, and then press ENTER. In the Windows Firewall dialog box, click on (recommended), and then click OK.
