Active DataGuard: ora-16000 database opened for read-only access

Hi all

Application, I get the error message "ora-16000 database opened for read-only access, while my primary database is up/open for read/write." When I stopped the standby database, the application works very well.

Please suggest what could be the reason and the solution for the same.

OS: RHEL - 5.3

Oracle: 11.2.0.1.

Kind regards

Ronak Masudi

Patch 9322138 ORA-16000 on recursive SQL on standby database Query rewrite

I wouldn't be sure if tha applies to your scenario. What you might want to check is this host = xxxx in your tnsnames file points to the right machine or resolve the correct IP addresses. Perahps you have confused primary and standby.

  • Add in one file other than (s) opened for reading or wirte

    Hello

I work in the lab will be using barcode readers to scan the hardware id for all of his test at the beginning of each test. A material is scanned several pieces of information about the equipment will be appeneded in a single file named because equipment is scanned. So over a period of time, we can look at the different files and see when they material was used (by a stamp) and where it has been used.

So I need to be able to update a file that could be opened by others (be it in playback mode / writing). If anyone has any ideas/suggestions on how I can add to a file that somene has already opened for reading?

Access, SQLServer, MySQL, Oracle and any other database can be used. I do not know to Oracle, but others are provided with MS Office, have a free version or free. Access is suitable for a small number of users. Others are more robust and suitable for businesses. OR sell the database connectivity Toolkit, but there are several free alternatives.

  • Generation to EXPLAIN the PLAN on a database that is open in READ ONLY mode

    Hello

I use the Oracle 10.2.0.3 version.

If my database is opened in READ ONLY mode, means that no insert/update/delete operations are allowed here.

During the generation of the PLAN to EXPLAIN this, the PLAN_TABLE registrations for any SQL. But my database is opened in READ ONLY mode, means that no inserts can happen.

So, how can I generate EXPLAIN PLAN for my SQL in this State?

    Thanks in advance.

You can always do: 'explain the plan in some_table@remote_database' to avoid inclusion in the local database. Unfortunately 10g added an extraction of the sequence of the code "explain plan", and that's where the call fails if you have tried this distant approach on your version.

Here's an idea that I have not tested. If you configure a link of data to your database from production to the database read-only, you could then do a "explain plan" in the database of production for the SQL statement by changing each object reference in the SQL statement to "object@readonlydatabase". In most cases this will allow the optimizer to recognize the statement as "entirely to distance" and get the optimizer on the readonly database to create the execution plan - which will be then written into the production database.

'READ ONLY WITH APPLY"in V$ DATABASE. OPEN_MODE means that active Data Guard is enabled.

Oracle does not check if you have the right license: it's up to you to know which license, you have to your database environments.

  • Read only access to the database

    Hi all

I am unable to give read-only access to a newly created in the Oracle database user. I grant only read permission to the user, but the problem, it's that this user is able to delete data from a table or schema.

Must only give 'Read only' access to the user who will be sql query for any table, schema, etc.

    I followed the steps.

    1 creation of the user

    2 granted suite privilege

  • DBMS - data not visible for read only account users.

I created below to know the status of my lots which run on server every Sunday.

It works fine and I am able to get the information.
now, to make it visible for read only account users - using «grant select» I gave access and created also means public.

but it shows only the names of columns in read only account data.

How to make this visible to read only account?

    Please guide.

Views USER_ will have only the objects owned by the user executing the query... In your case, it will be only schedules made by the user.

You will need EU ALL_ or view s/n (all_scheduler_job_run_details)

  • Will only open in read-only mode

I created a PDF to a Word document in Adobe Acrobat Professional 10.1.1. When I opened the PDF it will only open in read-only mode.  I want to change the security settings to prevent editing before I send it but the file > properties > Security > > security method is gray and the value "no security".  I tried certifying and signing the document and even put in an envelope with no luck.

    Help.

    Thanks in advance.

In Adobe Acrobat format, I found a solution.  Edit > Preferences > Documents/a view Mode I chose 'Never' to view documents in PDF/A mode.  It took care of my issue.

  • Read only access ACS 5.3

    Hello guys,.

I use ACS 5.3 with the internal database for authentication of users, I would like to give some users read only rights on the systems.

What is the best way to do it? by not configuring a password to enable for these users? or is there a better way to do this?

    Thanks in advance.

Give read only access on devices such as the router/switch/firewall?

If Yes, then we don't have that one best option is to configure ACS and devices for approval of the order.

If they have a connection to enable level, they will be able to see the entire configuration (absence of passwords encrypted assuming you are using the service encryption password).

You can make more granular connections and prevent customers from, say, the ability to run arbitrary commands such as "show run". For example you could setup a given user to be alllowed to run 'show interface status' etc. NX - OS has this ability almost "cooked in the oven-in." IOS systems, to a little more work.

  • authorization for file opening in read only mode

I have a server with about 10 computers. I need an authorization on a few of them to open files in read-only mode.

-For all files, when opening, ask for password. If the password is assigned, and then open the full version. If the password is not assigned, then open it in read-only mode.

Is there a chance to implement cela in win 7 or win 10?

    Thank you!

Using the permissions of files and folders, you can set user account of the person having or not a write access to a file.   For example, I could mark a file 'Shawn can change', but 'Ale can only read.

But would not ask for a password each time, she would use just any password used to connect to the computer (your user password).

If you ask every time you open the file, you must use a file format that allows passwords.  This could be Word, Excel, PowerPoint or other Office file.  To set a password on those, click on "save under", then the option tools in the save box will allow you to set passwords.  You can set it is read-only for everyone unless they know the password and make it editable.
