DeskJet 2540: deskjet 2540

I'm trying to install the HP Deskjet 2540 on my MacBook Air, Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite running.  I downloaded the drivers on the HP site and installed the drivers.  When I get to the HP Setup Utility, however, the clock has been running and my printer does not appear in the window.  I tried re - install the drivers a number of times.  I turned off the printer and turned it back.  I have reset the router.  Nothing has worked so far.  The blue light on the printer just keeps blinking and I can't connect to it.  One of the solutions was to press the wireless button and follow the prompts on the screen on the printer, but it is not an option on this printer.

Any help or suggestions you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Donna.

    6. On your Mac, click on your Apple icon, system preferences and printers and Scanners.
    7. Hold down the CTRL key and click on an icon of your printer on the left.

  • Cannot print from Android phone to 2540 Deskjet using Direct wireless

I try to print a document on my Android for my Deskjet 2540 phone using wireless live (so without a router involved).  I downloaded the HP ePrint app for my phone and have pressed the button wireless directly on the printer (the led next to it is on).  I enabled Wi - Fi radio on my phone and have made a link to my printer.

But when I try to print the document (a pdf.doc) I get the following on my phone error message: no internet connection.  Please check your network settings, and then try again.

Can you please help?  Thank you.

    Hi Kyle72,

Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I believe that when your Android mobile device is connected to the direct wireless network of your 2540 Deskjet that you can access the document, and you get a connection error message.

When you are connected to the direct the printer wireless network can not access the internet.  If the document you are trying to print does not live on your mobile device, you must copy the file to your phone to be able to print it.  I have included the link to HP Wireless PrintingCenter - HP wireless Direct.  He has a good summary on HP wireless Direct with instructions on how to connect to it and how to use it.

    Hello spoi.

Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand your concerns with the Deskjet 2540.

Unfortunately, "Scan to Email" is not available with this printer. Now, there is a solution. You can scan a document to your computer, open your e-mail account and attach this document.

What kind of e-mail do you use? If you check this, I provide steps to show you how to scan a document, then attach a file to your email.

This printer must really have a connection. You want to connect to this printer via a USB cable or wireless?

  • 2540 DeskJet not print all rows in the column

I am satisfied with my new 2540 Deskjet, except on the simple Excel documents it prints only a portion of the lines even if the grid is checked. This never happened with my old dell printer.

    Hi CathB123,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

If printing works well in other programs, I recommend this site, print gridlines in a worksheet. I would also try using the HP print and Scan Doctor, in which case there may be a driver conflict.

Otherwise, if it does not help, please contact Microsoft Office technical support. The Agency supports, as I am not familiar with Excel.

    Good luck!

  • HP Deskjet 2540: Scanner Communication cannot be established.

My scanner does not work. I am connected by USB. I've tried everything suggested by HP print and Scan doctor. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software for the device, but it still does not work. I'm very angry because it worked fine for 3 months. I went out of town for the winter holidays and took my computer with me. I left my HP Deskjet 2540 to my apartment. Now that I'm back it no longer works.

Here are the mistakes doctor analysis gives me:

The scanning driver is unable to communicate with the product.

    HP Scanner Twain error:

I followed the steps, he told me but even after restarting the computer of the Scan Doctor is unable to solve the problem and he just told me to come here and ask online. I really need this scanner set as soon as possible for my work in the classroom. It is very frustrating that my HP Deskjet 2540 broke shortly after buying it.

Too bad. Solved the problem by changing a connection of 3 USB-a USB 2 connection. For some reason any Scanner HP Deskjet 2540 cannot use via a USB 3.0 connection.

I don't know why it is exactly, but that's what I did and now it works.

I would like to help you to solve this problem today. While you receive a message of .NET Framework under the HP print and the tool of analysis of the doctor, because you are able to print via USB cable connection, I don't believe that the .NET Framework must be causing this specific wireless installation problem. On the contrary, there may be one occurring problem of connection Wi - Fi. I'll run to configure you through some troubleshooting steps the network connection on the printer.
