Our Network Infrastructure is quite simple. Each client is connected to active directory by using Microsoft Server 2003.I want to make a Note (as the computer lab rules) on a small window on each client for the user, so that each user read it before you put the user name and password.

Please tell me the client-side or server-side implementation.

Client computers use Window XP - SP2.

    Cannot add printer homegroup.  I tried everything I can think of without success.  I have laptop which is part of my home group who can't create a link to a printer attached to another computer.  The search for the printer does nothing.  When I try to add manually, when I click on the computer that hosts the printer, I get the following:

    "[Computer SCIENCE] is not available.  You might not have permission to use this network resource.  Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.  The specified network provider name is invalid.

    The problem seems to exist in the computer on which I am trying to add the printer, not the host, as I was able to add another computer to the host without problem.

  • vSphere Client Web - VM not found after add to the inventory

    We use device and Web Client Version 5.5.0 Build 1750785 vSphere vCenter.

    Machine virtual VM1 in the resource POOL1 pool configured on cluster1. DRS on in manual mode.

    I create user USER1 in AD with no privileges and allow it to turn on VM1. (User1 is a member of the Group GROUP1 and power on permission set GROUP1 POOL1 level.)

    Everything works very well.

    After I have remove the inventory VM1 and add to the inventory again.

    Then I login to vSphere Web Client with the User1 credentials and try to power on VM1, but get error not found "VM".

    I relog to vSphere Web Client with administrative rights and try to turn on VM1. VM1 on successfully.

    I check the permission for User1 on VM1. Everything was ok.

    Can I use vSphere Client Version 5.5.0 build 1746248 (not web) to USER1 qualifications and try to turn on VM1. VM1 lit with success!

    But I need User1 to power on VM1 from WebClient.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Leave the password empty section and see if the XPMUSER can be accessed.

    Method 1: If the problem persists, you can try to access Windows XP Mode with the default account named "Administrator". This account appears when we get into Safe Mode. By default, there is no password for this account, and the password is determined when you set up the Windows XP Mode. We can use this account to reset the password of the other accounts password. To do this, follow these steps:

    (a) Firstly, disable the integration features.

    (b) restart Windows XP Mode. When the Boot Menu appears on startup, press F8. (Continue to press the F8 key until the Windows Startup menu is displayed.)

    (c) on the advanced Windows Menu of Options, select Safe Mode and press ENTER.

    (d) log in Windows by using the administrator account and the password.

    Note: The password is empty by default unless you already set a password.

    (e) after the connection mode safe, click on "Start", go to "run", type "nusrmgr.cpl" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.

    (f) choose the user you want to change and click 'reset password'. Set a new password.

    (g) click on "Advanced" tab, click on the button "Advanced".

    (h) click on "users". The choice of the user you want to edit in the right pane. It to the right and click on "Properties".

    I found the solution!

    This morning, I do the test install desktop manager 4.2 and my blackberry curve on a pc freshly up toward my area.  This pc has never seen a prior blackberry...

    For people who are interesting to do the same, I put here the step by step guide:

    1. If a blackberry is always on the client pc uninstall all software

    Uninstalling lotus Organizer 6.1

    uninstall the Desktop Manager 4.2

    and accept to clean all the files of configuration during the process.

    Remove the blackberry device in Device Manager

    2. update the pc on the domain if is not always do.

    3. connect with the domain on the pc user, and not with the local section!

    4. once the session is entirely built, out of them and log in the local session the user (if it is admin on the pc), or a local administrator user...

    Go to the management console to add to the computer administrator group, the domain user that use the blackberry.

    Disconnect you and relog on domain user session.

    5. now, we are ready to start the lotus Organizer 6.1

    6. start the Desktop Manager 4.2 Setup program may restart or not at the end.

    7. When Desktop Manager 4.2 Setup is complete, start the software

    My guess is that you use the built-in for your first account administrator account.  When you add another account, the built-in Administrator account is hidden so the 'Friendly Welcome' logon screen. (The expected behavior is that the first account ever created will be an administrator account for you with the other accounts to follow - the internal administrator is then hidden emergency purposes)   Given that the content of the folders under "Documents and Settings" for other users is by default protected, you cannot see or access it from your other user.  All this is expected.  Chances are that your files are still there and still recoverable.

    To verify that your account still exists, open a command prompt window (start-> Run-> "cmd") and enter the command:
    net users
    This example displays a list of all the users that currently exist on your computer.  To connect under your former administrator account, you may need to temporarily disable the welcome friendly login screen and manually provide the user name and password in the logon screen "classic  The procedure to do this is shown here:

    I haven't added any hardware lately, so I don't really have any idea why this is happening all of a sudden.

    Almost forgot to mention, the last days I'm on another Site of our society and it seems that some users more have this problem here.

    At the beginning we had some problems with rogue KMS hosts (clients installed with the wrong key, and then they began to behave like a KMS host), but this has been fixed.

    I see activation all requests come to the KMS host.

    Someone at - it an idea?

    As long as it is not the same key that you used on your laptop, then try the phone activation.

    I'm having a problem with my computer, where everytime I try to connect I get the message "the Group Policy Client service could not sign-in. The computer is running Windows 8 and I have only 1 account configured on the computer (so I guess it's the administrator account). This started after I checked for Windows updates which all seem to load correctly. After the updates, the computer was arrested and I started to receive the message from the other day when you try to connect to it. This computer connects to my home network. Help, please!

  • Cannot convert Server 2008 R2 Machine get error: Instant The VSS cannot be stored, because there is not enough space on the source volumes or because the source computer does not all NTFS volumes. Error code: 2147754783 (0x8004231F).

    I have a couple of server 08 R2 machines where the P to V conversion fails.  I did some research and the problem seems to be related to the system reserved Partition that has 0% available 100 MB free space.  Conversion fails with the error below.

    VSS snapshots cannot be stored because there is not enough space on the source volumes or because the source computer has not all NTFS volumes. Error code:
    2147754783 (0x8004231F).


    Someone had this problem and came to the top with a solution or to get around?

    Guessed it.  My snapshots Appassure did not also exist with a similar error, so that's what I did to solve it.  My servers now converted without any problem.

    1. Open disk management.
    2. Look at the partition of the PRS and see if it is 100% full.
      • If Yes, proceed to step 3.
      • If this is not the case, check if there are readers who have no more of 300 MB free (minimum requirement to use VSS).
    3. Click a drive, select properties and then select the instant snapshots tab.
    4. Ensure that all shadow copies are disabled and no limit on all players.
    5. Go to the partition of the SRP and assign the B:drive letter.
    6. Open the B: drive via disk management, and then locate the folder System Volume Information. Note: if necessary, change the folder options so that you can view hidden files, folders and drives.
    7. Right-click the System Volume Information folder, and then select Properties.
    8. On the Security tab, click Edit, and then add the group with full control everyone in the folder.
    9. Open the System Volume Information folder (you should see log files are full), open a running as an administrator command prompt and then type the following commands to unload the filter driver.
      • B:
      • B:\>FLTMC UNLOAD AAFSFLT
    10. Navigate to the System Volume Information folder, and then type the following commands:
      • B:\>CD System Volume Information
      • B:\System Volume Information > AALOG_ DEL * (this will remove all of the log files, and then re-create a new)
      • B:\System Volume Information > CD\
      • B:\>FLTMC LOAD AAFSFLT
    11. Close the command prompt window.
    12. In Windows, right click on the reserve system folder and remove the Group everyone.
    13. In Disk Manager, remove the B: drive (and click Yes when prompted with a warning window).
