    You must do so via the Desktop Manager. I'll give you the steps using the Desktop Manager v4.5:

    1. connect your BlackBerry to the computer via the USB cable and open the Desktop Manager.

    2. click on backup and restore

    3. click on the advanced under the section titled Advanced button

    4. on the next screen, on the right, select address book, then click the button clear down.

    It will delete the address book and leave it empty.

    Use BlackBerry Desktop Manager to synchronize the address book to BlackBerry with your email and address book application. Change from there and then send again.

    While there is no limit on how many contacts you can have on your device, there is a soft limit that you can have as many times as the memory of your device can handle. Check the available memory to see if you have any remaining space. If this isn't the case, then consider cleaning out / uninstallation of some things that you don't need to increase the memory available to more contacts.

    Worked like a champ, with the only exception to the process.  When I looked at my address book to the end, he had more than one entry for each record.  So I went back to the process, but this time, before you reconnect and resynchronize, I deleted manually additional entries - for some reason, they were still there, even though I "erased" address book information!  I'm guessing that these entries were originally a part of the problem.  Anyway, once deleted I've reconnected, resynced ' by replacing ' content of the BB for the address book - and now I have great 2-way synchronization job.     There is a filter action, provided by FiltaQuilla, to "Add sender to the address list", and among all the proposed locations, your address books are included.

    But I see no way easy to offer the user a dialog to allow him to choose or not to do. Perhaps a javascript maven could do something here.

    Any sender can easily be added to the address book by clicking on its name/address in the header of the received message. Maybe you can use a filter just to highlight the messages from unknown senders in order to prompt the user to consider adding to their address book. Or you can create a saved search to collect such messages. Then, their mere presence in this saved search folder would indicate their status is unknown.

    You can try the following:

    Backup your data to the device as shown here. (We would not need the backup, but it is recommended any time you make a change to the data on the device).

    Delete folder Intellisync on your PC as shown here. (This will reset your configuration of PIM in the Desktop Manager).

    Clear the address book on the BlackBerry as described here only the task 2. (This will remove all contacts from the device in order to ensure that your data in Outlook are first updated.)

    Go back to the Desktop Manager and reconfigure your synchronization as shown here , then test the synchronization once more.
