Add move to the folder in windows 8

I had my Windows Vista set up so if I get a click on a document, photograph, record, etc. I could choose to "move to or copy to ' and a little box would come and would navigate to where I wanted to go, click and on its way.  I do not have the passage to OR send to option when I right click in Windows 8.

Could someone please tell me if I can and how to add them?  Indeed how we add (something) to do a right click in Windows 8?

Thank you

Mary

Hi Mary,

Thank you for posting.  From your problem description, I understand that you are unable to find moving and copying options

in window 8. If I'm wrong, please let me know.

Double click and open the folder you want to move, top of the window on the tab home, you will have all the options like move, copy, delete and rename.

Consult the following links for more information about Windows 8.

Hope it will be useful. Incase if you still have any other queries please respond with more details and we will be happy to help you.

  • Cannot write to the folder C:\WINDOWS during repair or even Recovery Console

The security on my folder C:\WINDOWS on my XP Home Edition somehow got changed to allow total control over a normal users (not administrator), and * only * this user - that is to say, no one else appeared in the list of users who have access to this folder.  I discovered this in the context of trying to figure out why the windows updates work is more due to the file permission errors.  To try to solve this problem, I changed the security for the C:\WINDOWS folder to 1) completely remove the normal user authorization and 2) add full control permissions to the accounts of two administrators on the computer.

Unfortunately, next time I restarted the system, it would no longer boot properly - it shows a black screen with a white cursor, and that's it.  I then tried using the Windows XP Setup disk to repair the installation.  However, when the repair is executed, it is said that 'Setup cannot copy the file xxx.xxx' most every file it is trying to install.  It may even be all he's trying to install files.  The first file is complains about is vgaoem.fon and I tried to skip all files that fail, but I gave up after a hundred and it was still only about 25% complete.

Then I tried to go to the Recovery Console to see if I could tell what was going on.  I noticed that I can copy files in C:\, but I can't copy anything in C:\WINDOWS or one of its subfolders.  According to the documentation, I should be able to copy files in C:\WINDOWS--sinon, the Recovery Console would be pretty useless.  My best guess at what happens is that the permissions for the folder C:\WINDOWS are somehow restricted such that even the administrator is unable to write to the directory.  The ACL apply in the Recovery Console?  I can't use the ACL commands in the Recovery Console, so I can't say.  Perhaps there is a registry setting that causes this problem?

I really want to do a new installation I'm losing all my data (in addition to having to reinstall all my applications).  Any ideas?

    Thank you.

  • What happens if I delete the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution?

Hey if long story short, I wanted to switch to the window 10 but now I don't have and I get this widow to come it's almost time for my upgrade, even if I deleted the application of windows 10 get and all the installation of my computer files. If I open windows update he says also your upgrade is ready and the point is that I can not new updates for my computer because of her wanting my upgrade. So, I was told I should try deleting the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and that should fix the problem but I don't know what all will happen if I do. • Move the folder presets (Windows 7)?

    Hello world.

I was wondering if there was a way to move these files to a different location and Photoshop use this location instead of the current one for the presets user and preferences:

    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 settings

    C:\Users\sername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1\Presets

I would like to move in my region of origin on the network because that would allow me to keep in sync for several different machines.

    Best regards

    Markus S

Photoshop will follow shortcuts or symbolic links in the Plug-Ins and Presets files.  (I often use make them a link to the content of my essay, so I don't have to copy files autour so often)

BUT Photoshop has list all files in the folder presets at the launch, in order to know what to put in all the predefined menus. So it will be accessing the entire folder to the launch, and put a lot of content on a remote volume could slow down your launch time.

How to work with a colleague on the presets: Dropbox, then put a symbolic link to the dropbox folder in the folder Presets in Photoshop.  In this way, we have both the same synchronization of files across the net, but the copy we use is local and not slowing us down. (Oh well, that we are on different continents, so a network volume is perhaps a little slow)

  • Setup removes the junction point NTFS redirect the folder system "\Windows\Installer" on another disk.

On a computer running Windows XP Professional SP3, I redirected the "\Windows\Installer" system folder, with a junction to a record point in a tree of directories to a different drive.  The operation was conducted and verified using "junction v1.06 - creator of junction point analysis viewer and Windows' published in 2010 by Mark Russinovich. I moved all the files and subdirectories contained in the original "\Windows\Installer' in the target directory (the these files had been previously copied to a temporary directory and after the move, I checked that they were visible in the folder '\Windows\Installer' open the symbolic link with the Explorer).
Then I launched a system patch, and I discovered that the installation of the update of the software deleted program point junction that I created, deleted all the cache contained in the directory with the name of substitute target different files and recreated the "\Windows\Installer" folder in the original disc.
I tested this behaviour a couple of times, installing various software and updates, so I assume that it does not depend on the software that is installed but the installation program itself, which cannot handle a point of junction of the folder "install".
No warning is given before deleting the junction point and all of its contents.  With a similar procedure, I made two points of junction for '\Windows\Downloaded facilities' and '\Windows\Microsoft.NET' and they have exploited properly.
Out of understanding points do not work on startup, so it is impossible to redirect for example. :

    • \Windows
    • \Windows\System32
    • \Windows\Config

"\Windows\Installer" isn't one of those cases, and it is not used at startup.

Is it possible to use a junction point to redirect the \Windows\Installer on another disk/partition folder, or Setup will always delete all the files that have been targeted in the naming of replacement?

  • Open the folder "Images" = Windows Explorer has stopped working.

Everytime I try to open my pictures folder after a few seconds, I get the message that Windows Explorer has stopped working. I can't understand how to solve this problem. = (If you please help.

I ran the System File Checker and there find and repair corrupt files. However, the problem is still there.

I also ran the disk check and has not helped either.

Ok. I solved the problem by seeking advice in another thread. Here's what I did:

I solved this by going to my computer > click the "Organize" (upper-left) > folder and search options > view tab check "Show icons, never thumbnails" option and uncheck the "display file on the photos." This prevents windows to generate images and solved the problem for me. Less visually flashy Yes, but at least not need a cloth and restart is).

I'm moving all my pictures from external storage. Guess that's the motivation that I needed to finally get the prints and albums. :) I hope this helps someone else.

When the Windows Explorer crashes, Windows Error Reporting Service [1] creates a dmp under C:\Localdumps. Please download the file to your public Skydrive folder [2] and post the link here. I take a look at the discharge with the debugger, maybe that I can see what Shell extension is the cause.

  • Location of the folder to Windows Live Mail attachments

    Hello!

I'm operating on your laptop abroad. The email client is Windows Live Mail.  I do not use it at home. People send me .doc attachments or.docx.  I don't have Office 2010 on this machine so need to open them in free Office or Open Office. I looked in AppData/Roaming and cannot find the .doc files.

    Thank you

    FJJWagner

I just browsed to the folder where incoming .doc files are stored

When you receive an e-mail message with an attachment, the "attachment" is just a block of code at the end of the message you want to read. In the upper part of the block will be a line of header Content-Type by saying the program which contains the code block. For a Word document, it will often be application/msword. You can see for yourself if you select the message in the message list, press Ctrl-F3. This will reveal all of the source of the message. Attachments will be inside; If you start at the bottom and scroll until you get a blank line, you will see the header for the attachment lines.

The attachment does not become a file until you ask the client e-mail program to open it or save it to a file. Then, the program converts the code in the appropriate format - in this case, a Word document - and generates a file. If you have selected Save, the file will have the name you choose and be stored in the location you choose. To do this, in Windows Live Mail, right-click on the icon of the attachment in the message header area, and then select record under. You can accept the file name suggested if there is one, or enter a new name. Once registered, the attachment is a Word document as those you produce yourself and will be treated as such by any program that you use to open it.

If you receive a message like this one in a Hotmail type account and read in your web browser, will give you the ability to view the attached document online, where you will be able to use an online version of Word to read, edit and save the document. • CTRL-Alt-2 moves to the second screen windows - how to disable

    Hello

I have a new computer to dual screen in Windows 8.  When I do Ctrl + Alt + 2, my current window is moved to the screen 2 (and equivalent to 1).  Does anyone know if it is a shortcut of Windows 8 or another utility?  I have a nVidia graphics card and the 7200LE Panel is not shortcut (besides the stereoscopic 3D features that are disabled).

The problem is that Windows seems to treat the key ALT GR (right Alt key for the keyboard layout of the French-Canada) as a combination of Ctrl + Alt, then when I press Alt Gr + 2 to type the symbol @, my window also moves to the second screen.  The equivalent problem is when I type the ± symbol (AltGr + 1 gives my character, and move the window), but this isn't as big a problem.

Anyway, if anyone knows how to disable the Ctrl + Alt + 2 sets of shortcuts, or how to make windows treat differently the keys Ctrl + Alt, AltGr do let me know.

    Thank you
    IM

I had the same problem, and in my case it was a third-party application that came with a USB to DVI adapter.

The utility is called "MCTDUtil.exe" and is in "\Program Files".

It has a visible icon called "Super Utility".  There, you have a menu called "Multi Display Control Panel".  The Ctrl-Alt-1 and Ctrl-Alt-2 are mapped to do exactly this: move the window being displayed 1 and 2 respectively.  You can disable the feature of this Panel.

I suspect that this utility is not necessary and can be removed.

  • Does not add features to the option of windows 8

I use windows 8 pro home & want to upgrade in WMC worm. but I have not found the "add features to windows 8", please help me solve this problem

I found a solution that works, first the version no N or N has not worked for me, I was not able to find the option 'Add features' no matter what I did.

If you use an MSDN subscription and you can download software, download and install iso from windows indicating "Windows 8.1 with update (several editions) (x 64) - DVD (English)", once the installation starts it will ask a key use, get a key for windows 8 pro, once this is made, you will have to 'Add Windows features' available, that's all it took , it seems that iso of windows 8 pro does not have this feature turned on, but the multiple editions seems to have a different version of the operating system.

With that I could buy the pack of Windows Media Center, and now I'm under Windows Media Center on Windows 8.1 pro.

    See you soon!
