Add RAM to HP Pavilion 754N

Hi, I have 512 MB of RAM. I would switch to 1024 MB or 2048 MB, even if this is possible. Do I need to buy a certain type? What do you recommend and that I buy from? -Thank you

Your HP Pavilion 754n computer has 2 banks of 1 socket for a total of memory 2 sockets.and my guess each of the people currently hold type of memory ram 256MB your pc uses, I think that PC - 2700 DDR DIMM - HP... then, you would use 2 512 MB of ram in these slots... what makes 1 GB... If im not totally wrong with I can be... but from what I could find online that's he uses... the bad, it's... According to the site it says ram max is 1 gig... .. also go to the store to pc with this info... give em model pc... to be sure

  • Add RAM to HP Pavilion dv9720us?

I have 2 GB of RAM that existed when I bought the laptop.  The performance of any opening or respond to keyboard entries is terribly slow.  The HP Wizard points to a need for additonal RAM and maybe change the size of virtual memory.  Regarding the last, I always leave the system to determine what suits him and has never changed.

I use this device on Windows 7 and I had no problem for years.  It is a 32-bit system.

Can I add 2 GB of RAM, how can I do it, and it will solve the problem of slowness?  I already have stop everything I can and stop programs from starting to try to resolve the slow.  A tuneup of cleaning and registry system have already been completed.

    Thank you for your help.

  • Add ram touchsmart 10 10-e010nr for laptop / PC

How can I make my TOUCHSMART from HP Pavilion 10 10-e010nr computer run faster. I have 2 GB of ram, 320 GB hard drive. I can addmore ram.

    Hi @germfree,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand you're wondering if you can add ram to your computer laptop 10-e010nr of HP Pavilion TOUCHSMART from 10. I am pleased to see that for you!

I recommend you to go through this guide, the computer is slow (10 of Windows). To check the amount of memory currently installed and determines the amount of memory can be added, while your computer is turned on, follow one of the sets of steps below:

    In Windows 10:

    1. In Windows, find and open HP Support Assistant.

    2. HP Support Assistant, under Learn click on product information.

      Figure: Support Assistant

    3. See the section of system memory specifications for details on memory that is currently installed.

      Figure: The system memory information

    4. To find the total amount of memory that can be added, subtract the amount of memory currently in the computer of the maximum amount of memory that the computer can hold. To see the maximum memory the computer can take, see the finding information on memory for your computer model.

    5. For the amount of memory per slot, divide the maximum amount of memory that the computer can hold by the number of memory locations of the motherboard. Usually, this is the maximum amount for each type of memory. For example, if the computer is able to contain a maximum of 4096 MB (4 GB) memory and the motherboard has four memory slots, install 1 GB (or less) per slot.

    Source: upgrade (RAM RAM).

Also, you can take a look at this guide, Guide to Service and Maintenance.

Don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

Hope that answers your questions and have a nice day!

    Hello

From everything I read it seems that you have a max of 16 GB for your specific unit and if I'm not mistaken, you should have an open memory slot to expand. Here is a link to a third HP recommends for buying memory, I pulled up information for your exact unit:

    Hello:

.. .and make sure that if you want to update the BIOS, do it before installing W7, or you will be brick the phone if you Flash the BIOS thereafter.

Everyone sees this release note, after they install Windows 7, and they Flash BIOS.

    System requirements: Operating systems
    Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition
    Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic 32 Edition
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Edition
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic 64 edition
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64 edition

    Exit the: 2010-04-06
    Version: F.43
Compatibility: Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit), Microsoft Windows XP
Fix/development: -Fixes an issue where a message that says to replace the battery is incorrectly displayed when upgrading the operating system to a Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.

The good news is someone who is flashing the BIOS on a dv6000 and dv9000 notebook after installation of windows 7 doesn't have to worry about the problem of fake battery error more.

The bad news is that they need a new notebook PC.

  • 8 GB of additional ram to add to my HP Pavilion dv6-7031tx laptop?

Last week, I bought the HP Pavilion dv6-7031TX notebook pc. It's a great laptop for games with 2 GB nvidia GT 630 M, but it came with only 4 GB of DDR3 ram. Now my question is, how much more ram can I add to my laptop? and what brands should be compatible other than HP?

On the HP site, I found that the phone supports up to 8 GB memory DDR3 (http://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Product.aspx), but when I used the crucial scanner (http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/), he suggested the 16 GB (8 GB x 2) kit. What does that mean?

    Hello:

The product specification page is incorrect.

    You can install 2 x 8 GB memory PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600).

See Chapter 1, page 4 of the the service manual on the link below.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03216834.PDF

I live in the United States, so I don't know what brands are available in Australia.

If you can get Kingston, Crucial, Patriot, G.Skill, those would be nice.

Just make sure it is PC3-12800, no ECC, unbuffered memory.

The Crucial system scanner will present the memory you need specs-wise.

  • Impossible to add RAM, Pavilion low g4-1117dx two cover screws of the Panel unscrew a point then pop.

The lower panel of my HP Pavilion 1117dx g4 has two screws to unscrew to a point and then pop.  I was hoping to add another KGB of RAM.  They seem to be most endangered and yet they turn freely, there is a little tension, and they jump as you turn them.  It seems that a few more rounds and they would be out.   Initially, I assumed that they were not out but the coverage does not seem to get out.   I guess you need to release some tabs with a flat edge, but I've had success now.  If anyone has a g4-1117dx can you check to see if these screws come out or are they supposed to stay in cover and apparently I need to apply more pressure to remove the cover.  Thank you...

After the screws are loose, you will have to apply pressure to the nearest edge of the back of the laptop to free the clichés about the rest of the edges.
