Add Thindirect to IE6 Thinapp package

Hello

I have a small problem, but I don't how I can solve it...

I have a package with several parameters thinapp IE6 but thindirect does not turn on.

If I want to add Thindirect to this package, how is it possible?

Thank you all

Just to add, you must either install IE6 ThinApp MSI or save the ThinApp IE6 use utility Thinreg to see the redirect. Without having to install the MSI or ThinReg, you do not find the redirect occurs.

For example, install IE6 ThinApp MSI, open native IE (IE7 or 8, for example) and type a URL in the ThinDirect.txt file. You will see that the native IE closes and virtual EI (ThinApp) opens in a new window.

I have thinapp. by IE6 on XP and that helped us to IE8 on XP not migrated. Now that we're upgrading to Windows 7, I had to recreate my IE6 Thinapp to adapt to a new application. One of the features that was lost was the ability to open several windows in IE6 "redirected" on Win7x64. With the functionality of VMware's Thindirect, we are relying on our browser installed IE8 native to pass the URL in a Thinapp was IE6. Previously, we have several IE6 Thinapp Windows Open URLS redirected, however that the feature is now lost. I can launch the Thinapp and have multiple sessions open manually, but are users are waiting to click only one for the internet (IE8) and have everything work from there.

VMware tells me that this feature was lost after Thinapp version 4.6.1. I have restored my packing on XP on 4.6.1 version system - 361923 but the problem still persists.

Any ideas on how to get the window restored multiple redirection functionality?
    Thank you

    Hello

If I understand correctly what you want is if we have 2 thindirected URL mean as below

    [VirtIE6.exe]
    www.Facebook.com
    www.IBNLive.com

You want to be thindirected to a different VirtIE6?

Indeed, you hear, if you copied and thiregged VirtIE6 on a WIndows 7 computer, then when you launch www.facebook.com then it should open in a VirtIE6 and then when an IE8 is restarted and then URL www.ibnlive.com value, then it should open in another VirtIE6.

    Try this

    1. on an XP SP3 machine prénumériser.
    2. click on 'Internet Explorer '.
    3. Select the option button "include an entry Point for a fully virtualized Internet Explorer."
    4. click on OK.
    5. start Internet Explorer 6.
    6. Select Tools-> Internet Options.
    7. Goto Advanced tab.
8 uncheck "reuse windows for launching shortcuts".
    9. click on 'apply' and then 'OK '.
    10. conduct PostScan and continue with the steps by default until VirtIE6 is generated.

Then copy the virtie6 on a Windows 7 computer.
    Make a ThinReg as "ThinReg.exe/a VirtIE6.exe.

Start IE8 and type www.facebook.com it will open in a window separate from VirtIE6.

    The IE8 is now closed.

Restart IE8 and type www.ibnlive.com it will open in a separate window of VirtIE6.

"Separate Thindirected two, IE6 for two different Thindirected URLS.

I did this on thinapp 4.7.2 exersice 771812.

  • Vbs in your ThinApp package using

    Scenario:

Application must check for the existence and create a folder (if it is not there) on a base directory that is physical (uninsulated). Thinapp package should run after that.

Question: I'm pretty sure I've read (but find no reference now... What is there again) I can add a vbs script to the location of package files to achieve this. The vb script needs to check a file in the home directory of the user H:\RigData. If she is not there, create this folder. The ThinApp application should then launch.

You can read about the addition of a VBScript script to your package ThinApp here:

  • ThinApp packages not detected by the workspace

I have a VMware view Horizon 6 Proof of Concept environment. I configured ThinApp in view and added a few bundled applications. I attributed these ThinApps to a pool of offices and they are hunted successfully to desktops when users connect. From this point of view, I'm so happy that the ThinApps work OK.

However, I just installed Workspace 2.1 and it does not detect the ThinApp packages. I've enabled view pools within the workspace and it detects my office pools OK. I also packed ThinApp compatible applications and pulled on my file ThinApp share. However, whenever I try to sync manually (or runs the automatic synchronization) in the area of work, I get the following error:

    Push is scheduled:

    Every day at 23:55

Error occurred in the synchronization of the applications (ThinApp) packed. Please check if packaged applications (ThinApp) configuration is correct and the share path is accessible.

The logbook on the virtual appliance contains the following:

    2015 01-08 T 09: + 00:00 XXXXXwork01 ThinAppRepoService 54:14: t@349c7700: cycle start inside hand (\\XXXXXview01.viewtest.internal\ThinApp\).

So Workspace connects successfully to the share, but cannot detect all ThinApp packages. I tried one of the packages ThinApp reconstitution with the option 'Manage the space working with VMware' checked, but the package is not always detected. The permissions on the sharing of files and packages appear to be correct.

What should I do to get the workspace to detect the ThinApp packages?

  • VM snapshots allows you to created a ThinApp Package?

I have a request I want to create a ThinApp Package for.  My application requires also some prerequisite applications to install that I also want to include in the package ThinApp.

Currently my process to build the ThinApp package is as follows:

1 revert/Go To installed a virtual machine 'clean' with VMware ThinApp

    2. perform a scan with ThinApp

    3. install applications prerequisite of my application

    4 install my application

5 perform a postscan with ThinApp

6 building the package ThinApp including my application and its required applications

I have a preview of my 'clean' VM that was created using VMware Workstation so that I can return to my 'clean' machine whenever I want to build a new package ThinApp, however I'd like to be able to use a snapshot of my VM that includes only the application prerequisite so that I don't have to reinstall them whenever I create a new package ThinApp for my application.

My ideal process would be as follows:

1 revert/Go To installed a virtual machine 'clean' with VMware ThinApp

    2. perform a scan with ThinApp

3 snapshot go to a VM to a virtual computer with the prerequisite applications installed

    4 install my application

5 perform a postscan with ThinApp

6 building the package ThinApp including my application and its required applications

Essentially for step 3 above, I want to be able to go to a snapshot of my VM has already some prequiste applications instead of having to install physically each time.

Anyway is to maintain the process of configuration ThinApp Capture while jumping to different snapshots of a virtual computer?

Any advice or suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    I would do the following:

    1. Go to a clean snapshot
    2. Thinapp to start and perform a prescan
    3. Install your applications pre - req
    4. Snapshot at this moment (in memory) and name your application

With this, you can go back to the snapshot in step 4 and install your application each time, then do a postscan, etc..

  • Run ThinApp Package via hyperlink?

Is it possible to run an application ThinApp packaged through a hyperlink?  I want my users to be able to visit a web page and then click on a link to start the application.

At this moment I have a hyperlink that points to my package ThinApp .exe file, however when I click on the link, the .exe file is attempted to be executed, but I think it's having issues finding / interacting with the .dat associate file which is located with the .exe file.

Is there a best practice to achieve this?

    Thank you!

You can run a ThinApp package since a hyperlink if it has a .dat with the EXE file. Either, you will need to download the .dat to the same location (temporary folder) of the ThinApp EXE. Or you can publish the hyperlink for the ThinApp MSI that installs the ThinApp when the user click on the hyperlink and say 'run '.

On the other hand, ThinApp supports running from a network share if you want to try.

  • ThinApp package 3 x larger than the capture folder

    Hello

I have an app that takes 100 MB of space. The size of the capture folder corresponds to that.

But the package of ThinApped is 3 times the size of the capture folder.

By comparison, spoon.net and citrix streaming profiler create packages of 100 MB aprox. ThinApp package is 300 MB!

    Is this normal?

ThinApp 4.5 has a parameter optional package.ini called "OptimizedFor" which can be set to (default) ' memory' or 'disk '. ThinApp new performance and memory sharing features may lead to more big package files.

In the worst case scenario packages may be twice as large as before, but in most cases the difference in size, if it takes place, will be less important. If the size of the disk is more important than the memory usage and startup performance, you can set "OptimizeFor = disk" in package.ini under BuildOptions.

The result of such a change will cause similar as 4.0.4 and less packaging. ThinApp 4.5, executable virtual files such as exe files and dll only is not compressed inside the packages on the disc even when CompressionType = fast is enabled, unless OptimizeFor = disc is also defined.

  • Change the ThinApp packages as you can do with Cameyo

Cameyo Packer has the possibility to open a previously created. EXE file and allow you to add/remove files/files/registry entries etc. Is this possible with ThinApp? I can't find any possibility to do anywhere. Y at - it a stand-alone application that I missed somewhere that allows you to do this?

There is no way to open/modify a ThinApp created EXE (package). It takes any changes in the registry/project files before building the package ThinApp.

  • How to add a sqlite database to package for playbook

I use FlashBuilder Burrito and you have created an application that retrieves data from an sqlite database file. It works fine on my computer, but in the Simulator, it does not find the database. I think that I tried to add the file anywhere in the package, but it never works on the playbook. If I create the database in the code, it works fine, but I need to package the database programmatically.  Can someone point me in the right direction?  Thank you

This database is read-only?  Never need to change?  If this isn't the case, you'll want to copy it in the folder appstorage as shown in this other thread.

In any case, you seem to have lot able to find the database file. Here's what I would do in your place.

Take your .bar file and extract it or dig in there.  It's just a .zip with a different extension file, so I assume that you know how to do it.

Inside, there are files in the file meta-inf / folder (at the less OBVIOUS. MF that is interesting to look at) and air / folder.  All application files (.swf, assets, etc.) are air / folder.

To do anything in this air / folder, use File.applicationDirectory.  Which means that if, for example, your database is in air/foobar/mydata.db in the .bar file, you will get a path as follows:

    File.applicationDirectory.resolvePath('foobar/mydata.db').nativePath

    Who help me?

You can see that the file is in a different location in the simulator that where you when you run in with ADLS (test on your development computer) and .bar.  If this is the case, you have several choices, one of which is to change the layout of a way to always appear in the same place, anywhere that you test.  Someone who uses actually an IDE would have to help you with that...

  • ODP 12 c version 3 with EF 6.1.1 I can't add Stored Procedure of a package to my model

I use the ODP 12 c Release 3 (12.1.0.2.1), with Entity Framework 6.1.1 with the first database in MS Visual Studio 2013 update 4

I have a MVC 5 (.Net Framework 4.5.2) project that connects to Oracle 11 G R2 Database server, an existing database (Tables, views and a pack of Stored procedures)

I can add tables and use them successfully in my model
I can add a simple stored procedure

    Here's the problem:
I have my .edmx file right click and click on "update model from database...". «, on the 'Add' tab, I chose «Stored procedures and functions»
I can see the list of procedures stored in the package (format packageName.usp) and check the box for the stored procedure of my package, then click 'Finish' to start the update process.

No stored procedures have been added to my Model.Store

The only possible exit I get the 'entity data model' is:
    Generated template file: Model1.edmx.
Loading metadata from the database took 00:00:00.5803351.
    The model generation took 00:00:00.3761861.

How to add a stored procedure from a package with the Entity Framework 6.1.1?

    I found the answer.

When in the edmx model and you right click "Update Model database.

Uncheck "Import selected stored procedures and functions in the entity model", select the package and update procedures. (It works)

Then in "Model Explorer" under "Model. Store\ stored procedures/functions" you will see your procedures in the package (finally). Then their card in "Function Imports".

I don't understand why unchecking import stored procedures works, but it does.

I also found easier to simply call the procedure directly and not using Entity Framework, as all my procedures are: insertion, update and deletions and not all parameters mapped on the model for the view.

  • ThinApp packages are very slow on Win7 64 bit

    Hello

I am facing a strange problem.

A large number of packets passed a client on WinXP with ThinApp 4.7.1 was not compatible with win7.

Repeated customer requests for scrach on a clean win7 64 Virtual Machine.

New packages work on win7 64 machines, but very very slowly (about 200% slower).

It sews the biggest package is, the slower, the package is runing.

Customer must take a position now. It continues with ThinApp or it restarts with physical application (because a Win7 migration begins in 2 months).

Someone has an idea or a solution to improve performance?

VMware one can give me an official status of Win7 64 b thinapp compatibility?

There is a problem of performance known with 4.7.1 do not know if this applies to your customer well.

You must contact VMware Support and file an SR to solve this problem.
