Add video memory for Pavilion a410e

I have an old HP Pavilion a410e Tower (2.07 GHz AMD Athlon XP) running Windows XP Home Edition which I want to connect to my HDTV to stream internet video. When I start the program, Boxee, I get a message that I have<128 mb="" video="" memory.="" is="" there="" a="" simple="" (i.e.,="" easy="" and="" fairly="" inexpensive)="" way="" to="" increase="" the="" video="" memory="" for="" this="" use?="">

The max that I can choose is 64 MB, what is the difference between PCI and AGP video cards? It would be better for the HDTV display and work better with limited system memory? Thanks, Deb

Deb, AGP is a newer technology and is considerably faster than the PCI ports.  So I suggest an AGP video card.  Now, that being said, I am not sure how well the computer will run with an HDTV because HP supports only 1 GB of system memory.  Additionally, make sure that the power supply unit (PSU) has enough power to run the card you choose correctly.  You can check the wattage in opening the case and by reading the label on the power supply.  The minimum power requirements should be available on the manufacturer's website.

With the help of their memory Advisor...  I see...

    Type of memory: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 (non - ECC)
    Maximum memory: 4 GB
    Slots: 4
Memory each slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1 GB per slot.

  • Video memory for the A50 series

    Hello.

I have a satellite a50-111 and I wonder if it is possible to change the amount of video memory to the maximum value possible.

Below you will find the form reported video memory Panel - graphics:
    -----------------------------
    Minimum graphics memory: 15 MB
    Maximum graphics memory: 64 MB
    Used graphics memory: 18 MB

I have 1 GB of RAM, and I wouldn't mind if the video card supports 64 MB of him all the time.

    Thank you.

    Hello
Your machine has 16-64 MB shared memory with the system. This memory cannot be set to a specific amount, but is controlled at the level of software/hardware for maximum performance

  • Upgrade memory for Pavilion dv7

In October, I bought a Pavilion dv7 (model dv7t-7000) with 16 GB of RAM.  Is it possible to upgrade to 32 GB?  I also want to add an SSD as a second drive.  Is this possible.

    Hello

It's a CTO machine so we can have its specifications.

    1. for the RAM, I think 16 GB is its limit as shown in the following link:

    2. Yes, you can use SSDS on the second span, please watch the following video:

  • Best video card for Pavilion p6 recommendation - 2040 has for balanced performance

    Pavilion P6 - 2040a Desk top. Windows 7 pro 64-bit. 8Gig of ram. NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 Direct X 9

I would like to know the best balanced video card that will compliment the APU used in my desktop pc Pavilion P6 - 2040 has.

    It is currently equipped with a Nvidia GT 520 graphics card, clearly a very basic card as the Windows partitions are only;

Graphics card: Desktop for Windows Aero 5.3 performance

The graphics of games; Business 3D & game performance 6.5

    The other partitions are;

    7.1 PROCESSOR

    7.4 RAM

    HD 7.8

I'm also surprised that, in light of the A8-3800 AMD APU which has the graphics card AMD Radeon HD 6550 integrated that a Radeon graphics card has not been used.

Bearing in mind the constraints of the nominal power of 300 watts what would be the best video card I can use it will complete the graphic part of the AMD APU and get a higher rating of Windows and I hope to use Direct X 11

    Thank you very much

    John G

I must say that I'm quite disappointed with this PC.

Unmatcheted RAM 4 and 2 gig from different suppliers.

I found myself buying little ram Corsair.

Memory locations only 2 and thus limited to 8 GB of ram

And now a pathetic videocard poorly matched to the APU and piddly 300 Watt power supply.

Never another product from HP... NEVER

This will be the most expensive way to buy a PC

Shame on you, HP and the glib and slick sales guy.

This machine is on eBay in recent weeks with no interest whatsoever, I'm not surprised and really angry at myself for having been cheated in this thing. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

  • New video card for Pavilion p6565uk

Hi, the existing card in my HP Pavilion p6565uk desktoprunning Windows 7 (a Nividia GEForce GT230 with technology purevideo HD and 1.5 GB of memory dedictaed) started giving problems with its fan (now more heat and software stops working) I wish to update. I saw the GForce 630 2 GB DDR PCI express announced on Amazon and do not know if it is compatible.  I know that my office has a PSU of 300watts but don't know not what would be an appropriate updated map. The Nividia GeForce GT230 existing provided excellent service for what I use the computer for (some movie edition and normal household usage).

Please can you advise me to use a proper replacement card.

In the meantime, I have cleaned the fan and use the computer with the side panel off the coast for additional cooling.

    Thank you

    Hi Steve,.

Not all 300 Watt power supplies are created equal, and therefore the reason why for the non - OEM GT630 video card manufacturers require more able to provide (350 watts).

Open the PC and read the label on the power supply.  The amperage for the + 12v bus (rails) must be 20 amperes.  You can see two + 12v amperage if the power supply has two supply rails + 12v.

The PCI-E slot is rated at 75 watts and 630 GT is close to the maximum power.  It is a call to close, but if you are not hungry video applications, then you should be OK.  If you begin to experience strange system problems and then I go ahead and replace the power supply.

I normally consider to follow the recommendation of the manufacturer of the video card, but the GT630 is very close.

  • Maximum memory for Pavilion g6-1013sa?

    Hi all

I recently bought this Pavilion laptop g6-1013sa

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&ObjectID=c02780920&jumpi...

Very fast and all. I'm lucky to have a disk sata hard 7200 RPM autour so I upgraded which without problem. When the level I noticed that there are two memory banks, but only one of the populated with 4GB and a free module.

I wanted to add another 4 GB module because it is not that expensive but I looked at the link above and it does not say that it suport 8 GB.

Anyone know if I can add another 4 GB module for a total of 8 GB?

    Thank you

    Hello:

Simple card for your PC page is misleading in that it shows it comes standard with 4 GB of memory and goes on to say that it is expandable to 4 GB of memory.

I would interpret who just like you... Max is 4 GB, but I think they meant you can install another chip of 4 GB.

In any case, this is confirmed looking at your service on page 3 manual, where it provides memory configurations.

    8 GB is certainly supported.

  • Food and update video card for Pavilion s5 - 1021p

I want to upgrade the power supply 270w in my Pavilion s5 - to 500-600w 1021p and replace the graphics card integrated with a Radeon 4650 video card.  Is it possible, given the constraints of size?  Any help is appreciated!

    Hi callen3625,

According to HP Partsufer, the power supply of your PC is not included because it has a separate part number.  This is also confirmed by the information contained in the library of Services HP partner.  The block of power SUPPLY HP Partsurfer therein is 220 watts.

Look here in HP Partsurfer for video cards that are used in the new Slimline models with a 220 Watt power supply.  These cards have been made specifically for the HP Slimline PC with a 220 watt power supply.

Even more recent slimlines are other graphics cards AMD that work with a 220 Watt power supply.  Look here and here.

Review the specifications of performance ATI and NVIDIA . Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

You should contact HP support and get a recommendation of the video card or maybe even HP Partsurfer.

  • ProBook 450 G3 (T3L12UT #ABA): you can add video card for G3 450 Probook?

    Hello

I am looking to buy a Probook 450 G3, a model that only comes with the integrated graphics card.  I see that in the manual a dedicated graphics card (if I read correctly) is an option for the laptop.  I wonder if anyone knows if this can be added later on (for example I am on a budget and cannot afford the model without a dedicated graphics card, but may be able to upgrade down the road)?

    Thank you

    Phil

    Hi, Phil:

There is no provision to add a chart 'card' in your laptop as you can with many of the PC desktop.

On most laptops, the GPU are part of the system board.

Dedicated GPUS have a system of separate graphics memory of PC system memory and can also use part of this memory system if necessary.

In order to have a graphics system dedicated to your laptop, the card mother together would be so should be replaced with one of those enrolled in the service including the switchable graphics feature manual.

This would be very expensive and labor intensive.

Only the most expensive mobile company HP workstations may still have different available graphics cards.

  • Upgrade memory for Pavilion 23-f213W

The motherboard on this machine has two locations of memory, which has a module of 4 GB. The machine obviously fits 16 GB of total memory. Without replacing the existing 4 GB module, I could just add a module of 8 GB or would be - that give rise to a memory failure?

    Hello Whippit65,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more. I read your post about how you want to update your RAM, and I'd be happy to help you!

According to the product specification of HP Pavilion TouchSmart 23 - f213w all-in-one desktop PC, you can simply add a module of 8 GB, as long as she follows these requirements memory:

    • The module is DDR3 SO-DIMM: PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600) PC3-14900 (DDR3-1866)
    • The memory does not exceed the 16 GB of RAM on 64-bit systems (that your computer is installed with).

    I hope this helps!

  • Update of add-on memory for laptop CQ57

Regarding the upgrade memory on a laptop Compaq Presario CQ57-229WM with DDR3/1333 MHz.  Product number: LW437UA #ABA.  And I am using Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition.

I want to improve my memory of current populated two modules (1024 × 2) two total concert, for a total concerts three of memory by replacing a module of a concert with a module of two concert.  New configuration would be: 1024 x 2 048 and 1 x 1.

However, the user guide States: "To use a dual-channel configuration when adding a second memory module, make sure that both modules of memory are identical."

By upgrading to one of the 2 GB modules and losing two "dual-channel configuration" will degrade any benefit from the extra memory?

In addition, the HP Support Assistant reported memory as units 1 and 2 with Samsung 1066 MHz.  Maintenance and Service Guide however, 1333 MHz.   Is it important when I order the memory?

One last question: if I may add a 2-gig module, does it matter which slot it should occupy?

    I would appreciate your advice.

    Hello

RAM sticks are very cheap now, your machine is running 64 bit OS why not go for 8 GB (2 x 4 GB).

    (a) If you want to reuse 1 stick, you must order the same speed and of course to buy Samsung.

    (b) if uneven, location 0 (or slot) 1 contains normally greater ability than the slot 1 (or slot 2).

    (c) unless you have a tool to measure, you do not feel the difference between single and double channel, but you can see your machine multi files/application under open a little more quickly when going from 2 GB to 3 GB.

Go once again for 8 GB.

  • How to add video memory in my Satellite L670D-159?

    Hi all

I have a satellite L670D-159 with 8 GB RAM and 1 TB of HARD drive.

When I look at the record, I noticed that the video RAM could be upgraded to 1917 MB with 4 GB of RAM and an x 64 system.

    I use Windows 7 Home Premium x 64.
When I look at the video card, I saw that only affected the video RAM 256 MB.

I wanted to know how I could increase this value to 512 MB or 1 GB.
I found nothing in the BIOS and video driver.

If anyone has information of operation really, it'll be great.

    Sincerely.

    Hi Christophe

Unfortunately this option does not exist. Everything works automatically and the control system of the use of the Ram for video operations.
