  It is not possible to copy and paste any programs installed on another disk - you must reinstall them because their files are located in various locations on the disk and because of the registry entries.

  Had a minor shock after I discovered that the access permissions default to the "limited users" in "C:\Windows\" and "C:\Program files\" are raised by the image automatically XP - Pro installed on my Tecra A6.

  Default access permissions to the NTFS file in "C:\windows" and "C:\Program files" for "A limited number of users" should not have permissions "File/writing data Creation" or "Creation of folders/adding data. This opens up for what is called dll redirection attacks (ref: http://blogs.msdn.com/aaron_margosis/)

  When you install a Win XP a normal retail or OEM Windows XP cd these two folders are special protected by this measure (not allowing the permissions listed for limited users). Installation procedure of your image work it around (in established Microsoft) measure and open breaches in security.

  However, I think that if each user install antivirus software (nothing unusual at the time; everyone should use) and activate the Microsoft Windows updates and OS firewall should be safe.

  I'm using LabVIEW 2011 SP1.  VideoMASTER 3.1!  I have compiled mass screw on the 2011 folder.  It does nothing good.  2 machines to put up with the same versions of LV and VMS.

  I use the VBF in Image file VI niVMS to convert .vbf files to jpg.  I browse to folder of waveforms in the public domain for VideoMASTER and select the native C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\VideoMASTER\Waveforms\480p RGB OmniGen.vbf file.  I then monostable it in the same folder as the jpg file.  I get the following error:

  "Error 1 occurred in C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\VideoMASTER\bin\VideoMASTER.dll\Check Size.vi of data.

  Possible reasons:

  LabVIEW: An input parameter is not valid. For example if the input is a path, the path can contain a character not allowed by the operating system such as? or @.

  On computer A, I do NOT get this error (in fact, everything works fine for all files).

  Do the same for the vbf HDMI file in the folder of waveforms and it works very well.

  I need to know what is happening in the bowels of this dll.  Maybe I'm missing a codec on Machine B?  It seems that I'm missing a dependency for this file type.  If so how would I know which?  VMS I reinstalled several times.  I copied the dll over the Machine A.  I checked is NOT a licensing problem.

  Jigg, with some quick research, it seems that the accident that you see can be related to do not call the niVMS function initialize before VBF to picture file feature.  Please try to run each of the screws after the launch of LabVIEW 2011 and see if you get the same results, and also adding the Initialize works in your code solves the problem.  If so, it seems that it will be your workaround solution, but we will also file a bug report; crash is not an expected way to treat this condition.

• Programs/files/duplicate files, after re-installing Vista operating system

  I reinstalled the same system of operating Visa yesterday and now my C disk free space reduced 129 GB to 64 GB. Under C:, there are two folders: windows, Windows.old.  I have merged the program .old files in the new folder of Windows. I also moved "Windows" under Window.old folder in the Windows under C:\ folder. Then I deleted Windows.old.  But now I have a folder of Windows under C:, then a Windows folder inside the Windows folder, it is llike C:\ a to-do list of programs, files, including Windows, open the windows and I see the folder of another of the window, I can delete it?

  My C drive should resume a State reinstalled pre: 129 GB or more.

  Please can someone tell me how can I remove files/folders/programs which are scattered arcoss different folders. or you professionals call it "partitions"?
