Adding a footer in Windows Mail

Does anyone know how to add a footer for messages in Windows Mail? I tried to use the signing setting, but it happens that exactly that - a signature at the end of a message. I would like to add something that is located at the bottom of each message and includes a small picture, but I can't find a setting that will allow me to do.

You must designate a HTML file for the signature (aka low page), then specify the image in the HTML file.  Then a simple example is the copy that and paste it into Notepad:

This is a text

Then modify it as you wish and put in the full path to the image.  Then save it with a htm file extension.  Then go to tools | Options | Signatures and click New and then at the bottom, select the file option and browse to the htm file.

    Hi Daniel,.

There is an in-app Mail notification system. You can check that it is enabled for your account by:

    Opening of the Mail app

To show the charm of settings by pressing " + I"

    Click on 'accounts '.

Click the account that you are having problems with

Scroll down the settings and make sure the "show of notice by e-mail for this account" is enabled!

There are also a couple of global settings that should be on by default:

    Opening of the Mail app

To show the charm of settings by pressing " + I"

    Click "Permissions".

Ensure that the Notifications and Lockscreen is on 'ON '.

Hope this has helped. Please let me know.

  • Importer e-mail and addresses from Windows Mail in windows.old to Outlook 2007 in the new Windows 7

Installed Windows 7 on a laptop last night.
Old system: Vista & Windows Mail
    New system: Windows 7 Ultimate (64) & Outlook 2007

Prior to installation, we have saved copies of records of e-mail and address books for the two users on a disk partition.  These same files are also still available in windows.old.

Import in Outlook 2007 feature, I cannot select a directory where the old files/email address. He just made a kind of research and can't find anything.
I wish that prospects to find them and convert a PST file but can't seem to make it work. I tied each combination in the functionality of Outlook 'import' and even tried to drag the old emails in the outlook Inbox (just create a new email with the .eml attachment file)

What should I install Windows mail, that he could recognize the old addresses / and then inport to Outlook?  Maybe then Outlook will look for them in their actual location?

    A little frustrated...

How did your question related to Windows Update, Al?

You cannot import data from Windows Mail directly in Outlook. See...

How TO migrate [Windows mail] Outlook (when you have only the message store files)
       http://www.HOWTO-Outlook.com/HOWTO/migratefromoewlm.htm#FILES_ONLY

In your case, you must first download/install Windows LIVE Mail and then import data from Windows Mail in this e-mail client. After that, you can EXPORT data from Windows LIVE Mail to Outlook (compared to import the data into Outlook).

Yes, this is all very confusing. Adding to the confusion:

    1. you must set Windows LIVE Mail as your default for mail in CUSTOM (<>) item Set Program Access and computer by default in Win7 before any function send to or MailTo will become available.

    2. you will find general support for all e-mail Win7 Clients in this forum: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7network/threads

    3. you will find support for Windows Live Mail in this public newsgroup:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?DG=Microsoft.public.Windows.live.mail.desktop

    4. you will find support for Outlook in these forums as well as in this public newsgroup:

  • Outlook Express 6 emails were stored on an external drive and are stored in folders with the name of people. Is it possible to import them to Windows Mail on Windows 7?

The strange things about this is that the mails are visible when you view them via Solution Explorer and they can be added to Windows Mail one by one.  However, they do not seem to be in a dbx file and they are not imported when the folder is selected.  Don't know how all these emails got it sorted by name of the person (in the folders).

First of all, please note that Windows Mail is not provided and does not normally work under Windows 7. Perhaps mean you Windows Live Mail, which is a differnet program and also does not come with Windows7, well that many manufacturers together with the computers they sell.

  • Windows Mail sends a single attachment in the form of several parts in several emails

When I send an email with an attachment that is larger than approximately 100 KB, Windows Mail it sends multiple messages.  Here's what happens:

I try to send a message with an attachment that is larger than 100 KB.  When the tasks window comes up, slot the tab 'task', he says:

    "Send 5 messages using"Silverstar".

[The number 5 is just one example.  He tried to send anywhere from 2 to 9 messages instead of just the 1, it should be sent.  The number seems to be proportional to the size of the attachment.]

The part of the progression of the window, said

    «Sending message 1 of 5 (part) 1 of 5...» "

When the 5 messages are received, they are identical, with the original filename of the attachment automatically added to the subject line.  In all the messages received, the accessory itself is unopenable, and its name was changed to '5'].  When I opened the attachment that works, the other 4 have received emails are automatically sent to the deleted items folder.

Who receives these messages often get a warning from the attachment suspicious or it is blocked by their anti-virus software.

This problem just started suddenly after that Windows Mail worked fine for centuries.

Here's what I tried to do to diagnose the problem:
I checked all my internet and dial-up connections, but all parameters were normal.

I thought that the problem could be caused by a virus or a worm, so I checked all my security settings and ran all my scans of security...  Avast! Antivirus, Postini, Spybot Search & destroy, Windows Defender and Windows Firewall.  [I keep up to date and run fast analyses daily and weekly in-depth analysis.]   All the scans came negative.

So, what should I do now?

Come on in ' tools | Accounts | (electronic mail). Properties | Advanced tab "and make sure the checkbox"Break apart messages Ko upper (xx)"has not become activated accidentally."

  • Cannot open or save an attachment in Windows Mail

    Hello

I can't open or save attachments in Windows Mail. I can see the attachment and highlight it. However, double clicking on it does nothing. Make a click right attachment makes appear an option "save under", but when I try to save it, I get an error message saying, "the command cannot be run."

I've never had a problem with Window Mail until yesterday. The problem started immediately after agreeing to compact the database of e-mail in Windows Mail. My Outlook in Office 2007 still works fine.

Now, I've read a few interesting comments on the Web about this issue. The tips are given is a variety of different bugs 'proposed '. To some I've seen:

    1. checking / unchecking option boxes withinin Windows Mail Security (does nothing).

    2. turn off your A / V by sending an e-mail to scanning or uninstalling your antivirus total program (at the same time - nothing has changed).

3 window mail accounts are corrupt due to antivirus updates installed (I have not deleted my accounts yet, but he can try it tonight).

4 Microsoft don't support Windows Mail, so install Window Live Mail! (this suggestion from a Microsoft representative real - I think it's very disturbing, because I paid for Windows Mail, which is part of Vista).

OS - Vista Home Premium (latest drivers and updates)

Anyway, if anyone has any info on this issue, any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hi all

As I was listing the foregoing, it dawned on me that it was perhaps related to the security settings for the "Internet" zone

So, I opened IE (8), tools, Internet Options, Security tab.  There, I saw something that I had not seen before, a checkbox titled enable Protected Mode; and it has been verified.

I've disabled and pressed to apply.  He tells me that my computer is in danger, and I agreed to that.

The drag-and-drop attachment problem is now fixed.

I checked IE7, and it doesn't have such a box.  Thus, the check box has been added with IE8, and its default value is checked.

I hope this is the last time that I visit this thread; But if it gets handed over by magic, I guess that I'll be back.

I have done this and it does not solve the problem.

    ATTEMPT TO FIX N ° 2

So I went to my Antivirus, Avira Antivirus program.
    and I changed:

Configuration > CUSTODY > SCAN when READING and WRITING > USE FILE EXTENSIONS LIST >

And here, in the list of extensions of files to analyze and prevent, I deleted the list: JPEG, JPG, PDF.

This does not solve the problem.

    FIXING NO. 3

I also run the new MICROSOFT SECURITY ESSENTIALS BETA.

went to MICROSOFT SECURITY ESSENTIALS (BETA). SETTINGS > EXCLUDE FILE TYPES > and added *.jpeg and *.pdf

There was no change, when I tried to open the PDF attachment, I always received: "command failed implementation.

    FIXING NO. 4

(By the way, I have nothing better to do in my office on Monday morning held that fix this bug for MSFT).

I removed IE 8 on my system and actually removed all IE from my system, I'll stick with Mozilla.

    No change.

    CORRECTION ATTEMPT N ° 5

I finally found an electronic bulletin board and followed the suggestions to save the file to my desktop and then
Open with Adobe and it worked well.

WHY CAN'T I OPEN JUST JOINED MS MAIL?

OK, I found another thread with an answer that works.

Why this answer doesn't work, I have idea of NF.

Instead of opening the e-mail from a shortcut program, on the desktop and open the e-mail program on the start menu to:

Go to: all programs, then select Microsoft Mail.

Then the attachments will be opened.

It worked for me, it's worth a try.

Good luck to you.  I know that's no fun.

  • Having trouble setting up Windows Mail (Vista)

I opened a new gmail account and tried to use Windows Mail to send/retrieve messages instead of you connect on a browser all the time.  Before the change, I used Windows mail to my Shaw account (a local Canadian internet provider).

I have still two addresses on Windows Mail and they worked very well last night.  This morning, Windows Mail prompts for a name of user and password for shawmail.  I put them, he fails to send/receive messages and then claim again the entry.

    Gmail or shawmail works now.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

Remove the account from Shaw and reboot. The Gmail account is working now? If so, try adding the account of Shaw and see if it works.

  • Windows Mail Security Popup

Suddenly, I get a Windows Security popup asking username and password everytime I try to send or receive e-mail in Windows Mail.  This information is in the account profile, the block remember password is checked, and there has never been a problem before.  I provide the security popup and check the block do not forget to send or receive.  I am then able to send or receive OK right now, but I get the popup again when I try to send or receive again.  Had a recent update that created this problem?  How do I return to normal email without the irritating popup every time?

    Hello JCSTE,

Thank you for your response back!

I would first try to test this by creating a new user account with Windows Mail and see if you duplicate the question during the sending/receiving mail.  If you do not have the same problem, then it could possibly be a corrupted account.  In most of the scenerios where I see what is happening to the user will create a new user account and then delete the previous class.

With assistance from the system restore, this might or might not solve the problem, especially if the account is corrupted.  But since this is a recent problem and I hope that you have not added new software or programs in the last few days so you don't lose anything.  Please let us know status.  Thanks again!
