Adding a second laptop to the wireless to work

I have a laptop is currently working with the MRT54G Version 2 router.  It works very well.  Now my neighbor wants to connect to my network, but after the connection with the networkkey it cannot connect.  He says he has "little or no connection.  I also read somewhere that it has to do with the IP not being renewed.  What needs to be done in order to make it work?  I hope what I've written makes sence.  I apologize for my ignorance when it comes to computer terminology.  Help, please.  Thank you.

If your other computer is not able to go online wireless and you get an error "Limited or no connectivity" message, this indicates that the security key you typed when connecting to your wireless network is Incorrect... Make sure that the security key that you used to connect to your wireless network is the same key that you set your router...

If you are unsure of your security key, then you must connect to your configuration page of the router from your work computer and find the security key...

Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press ENTER... Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase...

Click on the Wireless tab

Click the sub-tab under wireless > Wireless Security... In this window, you will find your security key... Note your security key... and use this security key to connect to your wireless network... Once connected to your wireless network, you should be able to go online wireless on your computer.

  • Adding a Mac laptop to the network... does not connect

I admit that I suck at the implementation of wireless networks and I am a silly when it comes to Mac and compatibility, so bear with me.

I have configured my WRT54GS router dated in our apartment and it connected very well with my desktop running XP.  I set up the WEP keys and gave it to my roommate so that she could access as well.  She's on a new Mac laptop. She typed in the key correctly (the key worked for me) and she gets only a message "cannot connect".  No error message, just that the connection has failed.   My office is running on wireless too (the LILY is in the living room) so I tend to think that this isn't our DSL modem or the router.

I have to install LELA on his laptop so he can connect?  If so, can I download the driver from the website? In addition, what its firewall blocking the connection?

    Thank you.

Readjust the settings of your router Wireless:

  • Unknown device on network adapter between the laptop and the wireless router

I am running windows 7 64 bit on a laptop computer connected wireless to the router and internet.  The router is Linksys WRT160N connected to the internet.  The map of the network, there is a question mark device unknown between the laptop and the router.  However, I still have access to the internet.  In terms of network, if I hover over the laptop, it does not show an IP address.  It only shows the name of the computer and its MAC address.  Any help would be appreciated.

Solved my problem.  I checked the button of the IPv6 protocol in the properties of a network connection on the laptop, and now I can see it's the IP address and the unknown device has been replaced by a switch and hub which is part of the router.   I do not uncheck the button IPV4.  I'm guessing that it is a bug in Windows 7 that you need to cut of ipV6 Protocol when you have a Win XP computer on the network if you want to see a map of own network.  As I said before, everything worked before, so this seems to be a cosmetic fix only.  I see that my shared files on the XP computer appear faster after a reboot.

  • If I buy a laptop at the Canada will work here in the United Kingdom?

I was wondering if I bought a laptop in canada she would work here?

I got my 3 recent laptops (Yes, 3 toshibas) of the States and their use in Europe. Everything works as it should.

The only differences would be out of the TV... it's Europe Pal and NTSC Canada, but there is no need to worry because it's usually adjustable from inside the BIOS settings. (please have this confirmed through owners)

In addition, the reader DVD Canada works in a region other than our 2 European region, but this can be changed 4 times, until it is permanently attached.

The power supply is self-switching too, allowing you to use your laptop to 110 Volts - 232 Volts without the need to buy a different model. Only a hardware adapter (max of 2 Euro) may be necessary to make it fit within our caps.

The only problem you might face is locate spare parts (mainly the chassis). I've seen a few models that have different chassis in Europe and Foreign Affairs. But in case you need something, you will always have access to appropriate spare parts because they are widespread in the whole of the internet.

    Good and bye buy ;)

  • I have a new laptop and the Wireless does not work as it should.

You can have a new laptop with Windows 8 and are having some problems with wireless, but no other system with Windows 7 or more, there is a problem.

At first glance, this seems to indicate something wrong with the all-new Windows laptop, 8.

Before making a lot of changes and going through troubleshooting, make sure that the firmware of the router is up-to-date.

Similar problems occurred when Windows Vista and 7 have been released and most of the large router manufacturer had a firmware update this rememedied a lot of questions.

Just something to keep in mind is updated updated the firmware of the router because it is not clear that he could be at fault.

    I hope this information helps.

    Hi all.

I have a x 200-15 k and would like to know if it is possible to add another 8700 m, as in the SLI x 200 variants. It is possible, everyone else is doing?

I also have to replace the hard drive, the old man is almost dead. Can I put in any SATA drive in the laptop or should it be a manufactured fujitsu, like the old?

    Hello

These upgrades to the graphics card are not possible. Only the preinstalled graphical card will be taken in charge and not other models or anything else. Just check this:

Whenever I go on the appearance Panel menu > add new fill when the text is selected, the add a new fill button is gray and I can't add a second fill. Anyone know why this is? I can add a new filling of forms, but not text.

I'm probably something wrong, or it's a simple thing to fix - but I can't understand why he is not let me add a second thread.

Select all of the text object, not his characters. You can apply additional fills/strokes at the level of the object, not in character.

Which means that Vista has erased my discs, how l can get the disks on my lap top?

Actually - if you have installed Windows Vista from scratch yourself (booted from the Windows Vista support and followed along to do a clean install or use some CD/DVD by default) then you're the one who has erased your disks and all data about them.  In any case - your "wifi" does not indicate any wiping.  * smile *.

If it's just a simple Windows Vista DVD, then * you * need to get all the drivers for hardware on this computer.  You may need to use a different machine (of course) in order to get the proper and then drivers transfer to them for the Toshiba by USB/CD/DVD.
