• Problem adding FLV video to an actionscript 3.0 file

  Hi I'm new to Flash, and I try to add a second 20 long FLV video to a script file 3.0 of action in order to place an animation during this video import. The video is my dog run and I want to animate a sprite in a layer on top of that to make it look as if the sprite is on the heels of my dog. Is this really possible? I tried to import the video into the file, but the video does not play it just shows screenshot one of the video during preview for all the time he plays and when I try to preview the video in an own window, it cannot load it, it freezes just then loading (the program not crushed by the loading bar crashes).

  Any thoughts on where I'm wrong or what I could try or if this idea is feasible using flash professional CS5.5 and my laptop has more capabilities proposed by Adobe for the software?

  If you want to have a type of interaction or layer on the video, you must import the .flv in the main scenario where he will play frame by frame... do not use the FLVPlayback component.

  to insert an flv video, did "" asking you for the next steps. In order, you can control this, I'll try to describe in detail from the beginning (translated from my German DW):

  Create a new subdirectory (that's for this test, you can insert it into an existing file of DW naturally).
  Create a new html/php file.
  Work in designMode--> the Insert Flash video.
  Search / navigate---> yourFLV.flv
  : Skin Halo 3 (w. 280) (it's my choice here)
  width 640 (this is my choice)
  height 480 (this is my choice)
  You can click in all the boxes.

  ---> Away with all these below (products of DW) files to your server.

  Best you have a look with WIN-Explorer in your directory, to see all files DW created in your home directory and don't forget one:

  YourFlv.flv
  YourFlv.htm (or YourFlv.php)
  Clear_Skin_1.swf (my choice)
  Which

  You can see your file in preview (when the file is ok), cause in your directory/DW-disk hard-all these files exist.

  I have a FLV video that is related to my SWF file (he plays inside a flvplayback component in my movie). I would like the flv to zoom (because it plays) when the user will fly over to it. Is this possible? I was able to "Create a motion tween" on it so that it plays in edit mode , but when I preview the it, the flv just stay the same size.

  I am inserting the flv videos that students must be able to start and stop anywhere, and when the video gets to the end, the student click on the button NEXT to go to the next slide.

  Here is what happened.

  I did what you suggested. I also had to insert another Widget playback bar to allow the student to stop the video and restart in a different position. The problem is that the student can stll drag the cursor in the horizontal position at the end of the video, and spend the rest of the video if they want to.

  What I had to do was to show only the playback bar near the end of the tail of the video to allow the student to maniplulate the position of the video if they want to replay one somewhere else. If they don't do anything, the video will automatically switch to the next slide.

When I export the indesign file to a swf file and then open the file using adobe flah player, switch to full screen, then go to the page that contains the video flv - the page is more focused, it goes to the right and page is no longer full screen.   InDesign by default writes a fullscreen.takeover = true parameter to each SWF exported from there. Which causes the behavior you described. One work-around, I have found is to use Flash Professional and create a new file it import FLV and this parameter to false and export it in SWF, place this SWF to InDesign. If you have an audio track used in your video, you still have a problem with the sound - it will continue to play when the user leaves the page. Which can be solved by placing a special 'audio killer' to the previous pages and following of each video... or maybe to a page if you have links to other pages...
