Adding external speakers to the Studio 15?

Hi, I have a Dimension of 4500 with external speakers and have just ordered a 15 Studio, which comes with the integrated HD Audio 2.0. How can I connect my old external speakers for the new laptop? I don't think that there is a speaker port. Can I connect speakers to the headphone jack? Do need me a different driver/card for external speakers? Thanks for any help you can give.

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand that the PC recognizes not the external speakers.

This could be due to hardware conflicts.

I suggest you to refer to the suggestions of Fahimulla K replied on March 4, 2010 and check if that helps.

  • External speakers to the Qosmio G20 106

    Hello

I know it's a stupid question! but where to plug the external speakers? Is this the same entry as the headphones?
    Thank you very much?
    JO

    Hello

On the left side of the device, you can find the headphone jack (S/PDIF). This allows you to connect digital speakers or stereo headphones (minimum of 16 ohms). When you connect the headphones or digital speakers, internal speakers are automatically disabled.
This Jack can also be used as outlet S/PDIF and allows the connection of the optical digital connecting devices.

Connect the plug of 8mm of the speakers in the audio out (headphone jack) on your laptop.  The speakers in their default value of medium power (plug into wall, plug it into a USB POWERED port, etc.).

Make sure that you have downloaded the correct driver on the support site for your computer manufacturer.

    Try this:

Go to control panel, sounds.  On the properties of sounds, click on the playback tab select your speakers, then click on the button "set as default". If you don't see the speakers, right click on the box and click on "Show disabled devices" and "Show disconnected devices".

Do the same for your microphone on the "recording" tab

  • I can us external speakers and the internal speakers of the w19e at the same time? How?

We have little cheapie speakers who have just a plug in his port at the back of our office of a1747c.  I would also use the speaker inside on our w19e monitor, but we have never seen the monitor needed an audio cable so far - just thought that the speakers were broken.  Is it possible to use both?  Where I plug each cable, both on the monitor and Tower?  Also, if it works not with speakers of a taken shortly (they are micro innovations, but no model, no or whatever it is), what type of speakers would work?  We are open to buying new.  Thank you!

    Hello

  • HP Pavilion 11-n038ca: external speakers for Pavilion 11-n038ca

Is it possible to connect external speakers to the 11-n038ca HP Pavilion? If so, any recommendation?

    Hi there @canajan,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is an excellent site for answers and ask questions that you have about the connection of the external speakers.

Here is the User Guide for your HP Pavilion 11-n038ca.

In Chapter 4 on Page 22, you will notice that gives you information on the Audio output (headphone) / audio (microphone) input and it said " ""allows you to connect powered pregnant option stereo, headphones, earphones, headphones or an audio cable from the TV. Also lets you plug in a microphone headset option. This decision supports not only microphone optional devices. «However, you must make sure what you buy, because you will also see that it says "NOTE: remember that the cable of the unit has a connector 4 pin that supports audio output (headphone) and audio (microphone).» »

In Chapter 4, Page 23, it also gives you a small paragraph on the Audio use and connection of the speakers.

Please read the information contained in the manual carefully to make sure you have the specifications appropriate for the type of external speakers, you need for your laptop.

    I hope this helps!

    Have a great day!

The external speakers do you have?
