• Vector illustration of harvest for use in Flash

  It is a really hard question. I try to use a complex vector artwork in Flash (exported from or imported from Illustrator)- but I want only the field of illustration that has been trimmed off. When I bring it in Flash (and I tried several ways to get there) - what I get is the illustration with a mask applied. I do not want)-j' have need of have completely cropped out it all while preserving the scalability/vectors of the illustration. I tried the dimensioning of the artboard, clipping masks, cropmarks, etc. - but Flash keeps import the entire illustration - using a mask.

• Illustrator crashing and buggy when adding or changing type

  Hello community!

  Since the last major update, I've had issues where bugs out, or to top illustrator crashes when I add a type, type containers, or go to edit existing type. Other than crashing, bugs don't one not showing bounding boxes, unable to select items, super slow response. The only way to solve this problem is to restart illustrator, which I do several times a day. Everyone knows this? Solutions of suggestion?

  EDIT: I think this may have something to do with the clip board. It seems to occur invariably when I copy type or a container of type.

  Good so I think I've fixed it so I answer to myself!

  The issue was due to a conflict with a Clipboard software I have on my machine (ditto). I turned it off, and the buggy behavior stopped.

  If you experience this kind of problem I should disable all clipboard copy and paste software you may have running. Illustrator don't likey.

• Adding texture to stamp a logo in illustrator

  Hi all

  I'm wanting to add a stamp texture to a logo in illustrator. I'm doing it with the pathfinder palette, but without success.

  I don't want to use clipping paths, since this is a logo I want it to be a straight on vector. The image below will explain better then words. Here is a link to the illustrator file Dropbox - logo.ai. Any help would be greatly appreciated, at the height of frustration.

  Pathfinder will work if you first do your whole logo in a compound path and your texture while another composite path. Move the texture at the front and use less Front.

  Why the prefix default "ns1" when I pointed out that it should be "test"?

  The documentation says that you can save your own custom prefixes. But it does not weather it is possible to do otherwise programmatically.  Is it?  If this is not the case, how? :

  The prefixes are not stored in the data model, but only in the namespace URI. The Analyzer collects namespace prefixes, to be used when the same XMPMeta object is serialized after modification. For the standard Adobe namespaces defined in the XMP specification: part 2, standard schemas, default namespaces are stored in a global namespace of the library registry. You can also save prefixes customized for your own namespaces; If the serializer does not have a prefix that is recommended for a certain namespace, it generates with prefixes of the form "ns1", "ns2" and so on.

  Try the following command to save the pair namespace:

  Hi, I don't know exactly how fonts are managed in windows, but sometimes the main use of the fonts folder will not help. Lately, I have had success copying the fonts in:

  C:\Program Files\Fichiers communs\Adobe\Fonts

  they would then be available in the menu fonts in Illustrator: you must pay attention to their extension .afm, OTF .pfm...

• Adding Panel in Illustrator

  I develop a plugin for illustrator. Currently my plugin is available by clicking on file-> MyPluginName-> launch.
  

  Each user needs to access it by following the given path.

  To make life easier for the user, I want to do the sign for my plugin so that it is available to the user just a click away. (Like "Layers" Panel of the Illustrator who is always available for the user to operate)

  Can someone help me to do so. Is it possible to do using Illustrator SDK.

  You can create a panel using the ADM - there should be an example in the SDK called "ADMNonModalDialog".

• Adding features in Illustrator

  Hi all

  Hoping someone can help me with a quick fix...  I want a fill gold with a red line and a white line...  What I don't want is the domestic lines, if that makes sense.  Here, I have gold | White | Red | White... what I want is golden | Red | White.

  Is there something I can do to achieve this?

  Drag your filling above the strokes in the appearance palette.

  

  If you want traits for white, red, white: Add effect > path > offset path. You can use fill all this easy way.

  Direct type can better do it with your color TYPE & not at the level of the LAVA.

• Bernina JAF without synchronization in Illustrator (MAC)

I connected, rebooted, reset the illustrator preferences sync, unsync in TypeKit... When I try to synchronize this font in Illustrator missed paying attention, notting comes the police still missing.   Thanks for posting these screenshots. I checked with our Library Manager, and the smelter changed the names of fonts PostScript for Bernina without digests; new files have been added to Typekit on 10 August. When you resynced policies recently, you would have received these new files with the updated PostScript names. (Font names do not change often, but it is sometimes necessary for the Foundry update files.)

  Once you have updated the file to use the new font names, the software automatically finds the files just go forward.

  We will work on how we can improve this in the future, so that the software can match the correct font with a similar name. Please let me know if you have any other questions, and I'm sorry for the interruption of your workflow.

• Network/geometric Illustration knot

  Hi all

  I'm looking for advice on how to effectively create geometric illustrations similar to following geometric random with connected points. Is this possible in Illustrator. I'm not sure of how to create this other that manually which would be too long and tedious brushes dispersion of known plugins. This looks like it was created in the plexus (sequelae) and imported in HAVE? Help is greatly appreciated.
  

  Arrowheads could help with adding nodes, but you always will affect each path manually.

  

• A way to prevent the first writing of file extension added to the XMP file names?

  I'm having a problem with the creation of sidecar XMP files that I hope you can help me with. I found that, as a general rule, the XMP sidecar files created in Adobe applications are named the same as the original file, that they are associated with, only with a different extension, for example add metadata about the file IMG1234. CR2 in Lightroom creates the file IMG1234.xmp . However, in Premiere Pro, adding metadata against CLIP1234. MXF creates one CLIP1234. MXF .xmp sidecar.

  We are wanting to use a dam at our office (Daminion) for all our assets (photos, Photoshop and Illustrator files and videos). Ideally, it uses XMP to manage metadata and can automatically recognize the XMP metadata created by Adobe applications - except metadata added by first. In this case, I have to manually remove the first extension in filenames sidecar created by first for Daminion to their affiliation with their corresponding video files. It is a royal pain and prevents any exchange of metadata without seam between the two programs.

  Is it possible to stop the Premiere Pro adds the extension of video to the XMP file format? No other work around?

• Zig - zag Illustrator

  Hello

  I found a movie to youtube on how to make a lace border. Exactly what I need!

  He seemded quite simple how to do you do a strait at the border and apply the zigzag effect. then you duplicate the zig zag and once again for the 3rd time.

  I can see how it does and it looks amazing!

  BUT when I try to duplicate the zig - zag the 3rd time, Illustrator gets stuck "not responding".

  I really need this border for my birth announcement

  And I've been messing around with the zig - zag now all morning, I think I found my problem...

  I really want to use a gradient of color on the lines...

  I discovered that it works in solid color, but with the gradient, it gets stuck.

• Import of Illustrator files to animate flash/cc

  I'm involved creating a Tablet app using cc Animate/Flash. I will be creating graphics in Illustrator.

  Could all sages members give me some info on:

  What size I should create my graphics. Should I create just to the rectangular ratio of tablets.

  Illustrator creates vectors so my graphics imported resizing (roughly) automatically through different screen sizes?

  Animate/Flash application dimensions of the screen in pixels, inches, etc. - when a new project is opened. I'm not sure that the best sides are to start work - layout screens, adding interactive elements etc.

  is the only easy answer, use pixels for everything that will be displayed on an electronic screen.

  because graphics vector scaling with perfect fidelity, the only thing on the size that counts is the aspect ratio.  in flash/animate, you have several options on how you step can be resized.  Since the help files:

  EXACT_FIT : String = "exactFit".

  [static] Specifies that the entire application be visible in the area specified without trying to preserve the original proportions.

  		NO_BORDER : String = "noBorder" [static] Specifies complete application fill the specified area, without distortion but possibly with some cropping, while maintaining the proportions of origin of the request.
  		NO_SCALE : String = "noScale". [static] Specifies that the size of the fixed application, so that it remains unchanged even if the size of the player window are changed.
  		SHOW_ALL : String = "showAll". [static] Specifies that the entire application is visible in the area specified without distortion while maintaining the proportions of origin of the request.
