  • 8. do not open the Captivate files

I lost so many hours on this today so I really hope you guys can help me! I have two Captivate 8 and 9 installed on my Mac and they both worked perfectly well even not later than yesterday. Now when I try to open a Captivate 8 he finished the process of opening with the exception of the file is not on the screen. The file is open (as in, I can't open in Captivate 9 as it is already open) I'm not.

So here's what I know so far:

I have tried several different files in Captivate 8 and all had the same problem.

I tried the same files in Captivate 9 and they open smoothly.

It seems that if the file opens "off screen" which I know can be a problem with Mac s when you use two screens as I am. I tried every single problem I could find for it but none of them have worked.

When I open the Captivate 8 opening with recent docs screen shows fine. When I choose a file it has the file loading screen and I get even the message on some elements are not used, but after that there is nothing.

I tried upgrading my operating system is all that far.

    I reinstalled 8 Captivate.

I also lost my will to live.

Please help me! Anyone had this before? How did you solve this problem?

(I need 8 and 9 that I have clients who are still on 8 and some that are on 9)

Hi Lilybiri, I have just finally he fixed after 8-10 hours to try everything! You were certainly on the right track with the issue of preferences. Cordially if someone else asks, I went to ~/Library/Preferences and deleted both the plist for captivate file and a folder called Captivate 8

I had deleted the file yesterday but not the folder so it had not worked.

Such a relief to work again! Thanks for your help.

  • Add a blank slide PowerPt inside the Captivate file.

I have 10 windows, using Captivate 8 subscription. I imported a PowerPoint in Captivate.  I added a new slide in PowerPoint. Then I went to the Captivate file and choose Edit with presentation of MS PowerPoint/Edit it shows fine as indicated in was, but after I click Save, slide 2 is empty as seen in B.  I also used find library and right click to update. Same results, a blank slide in Captivate file.  Confused. Can anyone help?  Thanks in advance.

CP8 AFAIK is not defined as compatible with Win10, only CP9 finds itself in this situation.

There is a lot of animations on this slide? To be honest: Captivate is not the best converter PPT at all, why do you use for this? Is an e-Learning authoring tool, I would never that developed in PPT: you can use the assets of PPT as Fund of images, but please create animations in CP.  You use high fidelity when importing? Other slides look much more static.

  • Captivate files working on Captivate 5 9

    Hi all

I am new to Captivate and the stadium starting my career as design e-learning.

I was put in place to Captivate through version 5. I gained 9 Captivate and explored and made some changes to modules of existing learning initially designed in captivate 5, but save these changes 9 Captivate doesn't not usable in Captivate 5 again. I just want to know if there is a work around that I networked with a group of learning professionals who use captivate 5 and I want to review changes in the e-learning facts 9 Captivate files.

Hope the logical question, any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Not possible, sorry. You will never be able to open the CP9 files in version 5.

  • Opening of a newer version of the Captivate file with an older version

    Hello

Can someone explain the basic rule about open projects that were created with a different version of Captivate.

For example - I work with version 5.5 and if someone sends me a project created with v7 or v8 or v9 (although there's a v9), I will be able to open them?

Even - if I send to someone who has the v7, v8, v9, will a project I created with v5.5 - be able to open it?

Thanks a lot for a (simple) explanation.

    NEL

    ++++++++++++

You can open a file created with an earlier version to a newer version, but you'll be never sure that it will work as expected, especially if you skip several versions. Answer to your second example is YES BUT!

It is not possible to open a file created in a newer version with a previous version, has never been possible with Captivate files. Response to your first example is no.

  • Captivate file is not displayed as completed in LMS.

I have trouble getting my captivate display file correctly completed after completing the requirements of scorm.

Only classes shown below are two long blades to test whether this is the file that has the problem, and it seems that this is the case.

There are about 100 slides in this captivate file which is not saved correctly. The parameters for the course are fixed below.

Anyone would be able to point me in the right direction to solve the problem?

I'm a bit confused because the cloud of SCORM is Complete list.

  • The Captivate file to video conversion

Can I convert a Captivate file into a video file as .swf?

You can publish the Captivate project file that is CP or CPTX using Captivate SWF format.

  • You can embed audio and video in a captivate file?

I was wondering if it is possible to incorporate audio and video into a captivate slideshow files somehow so that no sidecar files are needed?

or do I always have to keep separate files mp3 and flv related the long side of the captivate file?

    Thank you!

    Hello

It's a pleasure. Thanks to the development of the issue.

You don't have to get the audio files or viseo everywhere. Once you have inserted the files in Captivate, you need only to take the rest of the file .cptx files will remain in the project.

    I hope this helps!

    Thank you!

  • Optimization of captivate file for different screen resolution

    Hello

I have a problem to optimize the file captivate for different screens such as laptop, netbook and pc. PC and laptops, this isn't a major problem, as the size of the screen is great. But when you play the swf file captivate generated in a netbook, the entire site gets resized to fit the resolution of the screen with the exception of the captivate file. Captivate file is truncated so that the user can read only half of the slide.

    Thanks in advance

    Parvathy

One thing you can try is to manually adjust the dimensions of the swf.  I have not found a way to do in first grade.  We had a similar with a few eLearning problem, that we have built all our testers used very well.  But once someone undocked their laptop and turned their desktop monitor, had the same problem you describe, where the background of the film was cut.

Once you publish the files, open the file .htm with Notepad or your editor of choice text/html.

Look for a line that looks like this:

    var so = new SWFObject (strURLFile + strURLParams, "seduce", "1100", "798", "10", "#CCCCCC");

    or

    var so = new SWFObject ("filename.swf", "Captivate", "1600", "1200", "10", "#CCCCCC");

Change these numbers quotes at 100%, like this:

    var so = new SWFObject ("filename.swf", "Captivate", "100%", "100%", "10", "#CCCCCC");

    Save the .htm

My experience was it will adjust the swf to fit the height or the width of the screen, depending on which is more short.  In other words, it either will fill the top down OR sideways, but keep the swf in proportion.

    hope that helps.

  • Track substantive addition to the Captivate file in hearing

Hello.  Does anyone know how to add a second track to my audio of the entire project once I have stumble at the hearing?  I want to add background music and control the volume that the Captivate for a background audio clip feature.

You have no answer yet, probably because the question is not clear. You use the feature back and forth to edit audio project in hearing? If Yes, what version of Audition and Captivate you use? If you are indeed looking for a stream of work add a track to the hearing, maybe you'll have better turn on the forum of the hearing.

  • The additional write custom file VI data feed

What I'm looking for is a way to combine these two in a log file. Is it possible to add these additional variables in the data from the signal arriving at the writing on a measure VI file? • Adobe Captivate file size

I have a two part question. I work with Adobe Captivate for the first time, so I am of course a lot of rookie, errors, and now I'm stuck.

I have a project that is 122 229 KB, and when publishing to LMS, is 63 900 KB. I made sure all the graphics are as small as possible, but it still takes a long time to load when you access through the LMS. My first question is, what is the size of ideal file for the publication of LMS? If necessary, I may have to divide my presentation in several modules so that they are more easily, but I'm curious to know if there is an easier way to address the issue before it split.

My second part of the question: is there a way to tell Captivate to begin play the webinar when it loads? When I tested, it took about 2 minutes to load the file that in the world of technology online, it's an eternity. I hope there's a way to tell him to start playing the video during the rest of the presentation the loading in the background.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Kristen

    Hello Kristen,

Welcome to the forums. For your last question: you can reduce the Preloader % in Preferences, project, start & end. Its default value is 100%, which means that the entire project is loaded before playing. Also: avoid having a heavy slide first, no audio action, not complicated, etc..

There is no ideal real file size, because it depends on many factors. Keep the resolution as low as possible, I mean the size in pixels. You talk about graphics: what type of graphics do you use. If you're on the CP9, he agrees to SVG which, in most cases, have smaller file than bitmap images. But it's not only the graphics that define the size of the file: as the number of slides, images, audio and video clips.

  • Updated a Captivate 3 to 8 Captivate file

    Hello

I have an old file created in Captivate 3.

I am now on 8 Captivate and formulated a hypothesis if I opened the file in Captivate 3 in Captivate 8 software would update the file so I could edit in Captivate (other software I use is automatically) 8.

This doesn't seem to work with Captivate and I hope someone can tell me how I can edit files of CP3 at the CP8.  I have more access to the CP3.

The file I have is a .cv file, but when I browse 8 Captivate for the file it is only looking for .cptx, .cptl, .cpvc.    YIKES!

Thanks in advacne to any suggestion you may have.

    Thank you!

    Sherrie

The extension of the Cp files replaced by cp cptx with version 5. Your version of 3 is 10, which means an eternity in the world IT. "other software"? Not an application with a complexity of Captivate, sorry.

If you want to update (that I will not recommend, because I'm sure that you'll spend more time trying to fix all the mistakes when creating from scratch), you will need an intermediate version (5 or 5.5) and do a two-step upgrade. Since CP5 AS2 is no longer supported, which means that you must first display files and exit all the objects of the AS2. Since you don't have access to the CP3, it will prove very difficult.

  • Not able to download the Captivate file

I'm looking at the Adobe Captivate 9 training examples. I was able to locate the file, I'm not able to download.

Someone sees if they can access and download?

Adobe Captivate, presenter & eLearning Suite examples "Rapid e-Learning | Adobe Captivate Blog

Looking at the virtual vacation: Sales Training at the top of the page.

I just downloaded and open this file with no problems. It is approximately 101MB. If you still have problems, could transfer to a place and send you a private link.

Other examples are available in Captivate: use the icon of the small screen, either on the screen of welcome, or when you are in the UI itself, just to the right of the Help menu.

  • Opening earlier Captivate files - .cp

I use 7 Captivate.  In 2006, I created several files using an older version of Captivate that saved the project with the .cp extension name.  I need to fix several .cp project.  Everything I have ideas?

    Anne

You would need a 5 first update to this version and the current version of version 7 or later.

But I want to warn you: I don't quite know what you're going to end up with a project that can be useful because so much has changed. Not sure, but 2006 means that you use version 2? AS2 is no longer supported by Captivate since version 4, when the changed user interface. Themes have been added in version 6. Personally, I would try to recreate from scratch, using images, backgrounds and other assets from earlier versions.
