Addition of several clocks to the taskbar

Hello

I am trying to add another clock in the taskbar beyond two additional clocks which are allowed.

I navigated to HKEY_CURRENT_USER Panel\TimeDate\AdditionalClocks and found two keys named 1 and 2, which contained the info for clocks.

I added a key for "AdditionalClocks" named 3 and included the required information, but he did not display the clock.

I suppose that there is a limit on the number of clocks, but I need knCrystow how to change this limit. I checked on the process using procmon, but I didn't see any reg key that controls the number of clocks. Is it somehow integrated in txres.dll? If so, does anyone know if there is an update for it?

Thanks in advance,

Caleb Begly

Hi marble_tech,

Unfortunately, you can have only 2 additional clocks (3-clocks displayed); You can use your favorite search engine to look for third party software that will help you in this task.

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

It is recommended that you back up your registry before doing any work.

Important: problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • Why the Date is always shown when I move my mouse over the clock in the taskbar? Most of the time, it works very well!

Why does the Date not always appear when I hover my mouse by the clock in the taskbar on my Tablet? It displays immediately if I click somewhere near where on the clock.

Often it doesn't appear when I go through the clock. Sometimes, it does. I don't know why he sometimes reacts different.

And didn't someone jump in and start accusing malware etc. Just read my profile. That is not the issue and I don't want to be around anyone who wants just the head in this direction from the outset or even at all! • The clock in the taskbar has set both military, how can I get that back to the normal time display?

Clock in the taskbar has set both military, how can I get that back to the normal time display?

You make this kind of adjustments in the regional and Language Options applet.

Click Start, settings, Control Panel, regional and Language Options.

On the Regional Options tab, in the section Standards and formats, your language is selected.

To the right of your selected language, click on the Customize button, the click the time tab.

Change the Format of the time to your desires.

    Eastern Standard time: h:mm:ss:tt

    Military time would be: HH

Click OK, OK to save the settings.

You don't need to restart, but I would reboot in any case to ensure the changes 'stick '.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

  • All of a sudden the icons on the desktop on my laptop Dell are sort of gray and clock in the taskbar is in white letters on a gray background.

Original title: need assistance to restore the appearance of the desktop icons and the taskbar clock

Don't know if it's something I've done or what, but all of a sudden the desktop on my laptop Dell icons are little greyed out - they are still useable but difficult to read.

At the same time, the clock in the taskbar is the same way - white letters on a gray background - very difficult to read.

Can anyone help?  I'm not very savvy computer so need to very simple instructions.

I currently have Windows 8 and am installing 8.1

    Thank you

    Hi Sue,

Remember to proceed with changes in hardware or software on the computer before the show?

This issue would have occurred due to any software recently or changes to the material on the computer.

Since the problem started recently, you can try to perform a system restore and see if it helps.

    a. press the Windows and R to open the Run dialog box.

    b. type rstrui and then press enter.

    c. perform the restore the system to a restore point before the problem started and check if it helps.

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

Hope the helps of information. Let us know if you need help with Windows related issues. We will be happy to help you.

  • Close several windows in the taskbar?

I understand that you can get an overview of open windows on the taskbar and close a window from the taskbar. But, you can close several windows? For example, let's say I have 6 open IE browser windows. I hover over the IE icon on the taskbar and see the 5 windows in preview mode. Can I select and close 3 of them at the same time, or I have to do it one by one?

    Hi Jeff,

Yes, if you right-click on the icon in the taskbar, for example Internet Explorer, you will see an option "close all windows".  I think it'll do what you're asking here...

In addition, you can hide, or rather, but in the background by clicking on the "Show Desktop" box on the far right of your taskbar.

Please let me know if this helps or you need anything anyone else.

    Best regards!
    Jon

  • Several icons in the taskbar

I have Firefox pinned to my taskbar. Since the update to version 9.0.1 when I click the icon a second icon appears in the taskbar. Both work correctly. The second displays previews tab of the first but not vice versa. I have been through my options several times and can't find anything that covers this. It makes no sense to have icons in double that leads me to believe that something is wrong. And if something is just a little bit now it won't be long until he is very bad. Is this something I did?

Thanks for your suggestion. Topic: config had hundreds of pref and I had no idea what none of them spoke. My grandson has offered a solution that was simple and fixed the problem. I simply click with the right button on the second icon and it pinned to the task bar, and then release the first icon. Problem solved. He thought that it was because the first icon opens a new version of Firefox. Apparently, he was right. Thanks again for your suggestion. Now I know where to hide all preferences.

  • Cannot select several windows in the taskbar.

In Windows XP, you may hold down the CTRL key and select multiple windows, then right-click on one of them and choose close, which would close all save time and clicks.

However, in Windows 7, you cannot select multiple windows at the same time using CTRL.

Is there a logical reason for it?

    Is there an alternative?

With the redesign of the taskbar, les ingenieurs engineers included a method to close all windows of a particular program.  There is however no more multiple-selection.  You can always do this by pressing Ctrl-Shift-Escape and then using Ctrl-click to select and close the windows of this list of programs.

However, there is no alternative to the taskbar.

For additional reading on technical and creative process that went into the design of the new taskbar, see the Engineering Windows 7 blog by the developers themselves, to http://blogs.msdn.com/e7.

Select System Turn On or Off icons (in the lower left corner of the window)

  • The problem is for some reason, my laptop decided all of a sudden I can't put my network, power, clock, and the volume in my taskbar on the right.

I was in every sense, within the taskbar and Start Menu properties and everything but for some reason it varies between afford all four and then not. I locked the taskbar, unlocked it, tried not by selecting all the others who are there and much more. Do anyone know how I can get them right here, they were there before, when I got the laptop, but a few months ago he started to play up. Best description is that one cannot be activated on, sometimes two at a time, sometimes I can only get the clock in the taskbar. It becomes a little irritating as when working on a laptop that is not plugged in you cannot tell how much battery you have left, or you can not see your volume control and must go through the menu and the accessories and the rigmarole when you do something important gets on my last nerve cords. • Calendar and clock disappeared from the taskbar

I tried to customize the icons in the icon from the task bar, but there was no date/time from the list.  I went to the actual Date and time, but there was nowhere I could see which explains how to set the clock on the taskbar or desktop.  There's a calendar in Gadgets, but no clock, and when I went online to Microsoft, I saw the warning saying NOT to use the Gadget.

    What to do next?

    Thank you

    Hi Pam,.

You mentioned that you are unable to find the time in the window list customize Notification icons. Before proceeding further with this issue, I want to clarify one thing here - as the window to customize Notification icons, did you click on the link "enable or disable the system icons" and check if the "clock" option is available in the list of system icons?

If this isn't the case, I suggest you for this and let us know the status. Please follow these steps:

    (a) right click on the notification area in the taskbar, and then select the option "Customize Notification icons".

    (b) now, at the bottom of the new window that opens, click on the link «enable or disable the system icons»

    (c) you should be able to find the "clock" option in the list of system icons.

    (d) If you have the option "clock" that listed there, and then select the option 'WE' in this menu drop-down.

    (e) click on 'OK', then 'OK'.

    (f) this should display the date and time in the taskbar.

Hope this solves the problem. If this does not resolve the issue, then please get back to us. We will be happy to help you further.
