More likely is that you CMOS abttery is done. Need a new installed.

Here is an article on changing the cmos battery. If you are NOT comfortable doing it yourself, suggest that you find a friend to help you.
The safest way, of course, is to let your local computer tech do it for you. But it will cost you.
The choice is yours.

    Myrna KayGould Hi,

    ·         How long have you had this problem?

First of all, I suggest you to check if the semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide battery must be replaced and replace the same as such.

    Caution:

Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.

  • The clock in the taskbar has set both military, how can I get that back to the normal time display?

Clock in the taskbar has set both military, how can I get that back to the normal time display?

You make this kind of adjustments in the regional and Language Options applet.

Click Start, settings, Control Panel, regional and Language Options.

On the Regional Options tab, in the section Standards and formats, your language is selected.

To the right of your selected language, click on the Customize button, the click the time tab.

Change the Format of the time to your desires.

    Eastern Standard time: h:mm:ss:tt

    Military time would be: HH

Click OK, OK to save the settings.

You don't need to restart, but I would reboot in any case to ensure the changes 'stick '.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

  • PC clock stops

Since setting up a new motherboard my pc clock stops whenever the pc is asleep or is cut.  I have reset the pc to sleep and I stop and retsart time service and it is then ok for the session.  Any ideas please?

Verify that the CMOS battery is actually activated. They often come with a thin plastic cover to stop it unloads during transit/storage before use. If the battery still has his film (or if the battery is duff), you will have this problem.

But I should also mention that if it's a new installation of the motherboard as a replacement for that you used all of the old hardware and disks, etc, have you installed new drivers of motherboard that should have come on a CD?

  • Addition of several clocks to the taskbar

    Hello

I am trying to add another clock in the taskbar beyond two additional clocks which are allowed.

I navigated to HKEY_CURRENT_USER Panel\TimeDate\AdditionalClocks and found two keys named 1 and 2, which contained the info for clocks.

I added a key for "AdditionalClocks" named 3 and included the required information, but he did not display the clock.

I suppose that there is a limit on the number of clocks, but I need knCrystow how to change this limit. I checked on the process using procmon, but I didn't see any reg key that controls the number of clocks. Is it somehow integrated in txres.dll? If so, does anyone know if there is an update for it?

    Thanks in advance,

    Caleb Begly

    Hi marble_tech,

Unfortunately, you can have only 2 additional clocks (3-clocks displayed); You can use your favorite search engine to look for third party software that will help you in this task.

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

It is recommended that you back up your registry before doing any work.

Important: problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • Clock stops every time computer is closed

My computer's clock stops whenever I stopped or paused.  I thought it was the cmos battery and replaced it, but the problem started again.

The problem started shortly after I installed windows 7.  What maybe a software problem?

    Hi ppphhh,

My first suggestion would be to see if the time service restarting may solve the problem. Follow the path below to do the same.

Start> type Services.msc in the search bar > search for time service Windows in the window that opens > restart the operation of the service.

If restarting the service of time will not solve, try it at "stop" then restart your computer.  He should stop and try again. If it is not manually, navigate to the location and restart.

If that does not solve the problem, then you can look for any conflict of third-party application. Perform a clean boot and see if you can find any third-party application which is in conflict with the normal performance of the computer.

To perform a clean boot on a computer that is running Windows 7, follow these steps.

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

    5. click on OK.

    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

    7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

If your issue is resolved, follow the how to determine what is causing the problem section in KB article to narrow down the exact source.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

In addition, refer to the section on how to restore your computer to a Normal startup mode

  • Clock stops when portable HP6715B is off

clock stops when portable hp6715b is off

    Original title: time clock

Looks like it is time to replace your CMOS/RTC battery, which is located on your motherboard. Refer to the Service Manual of your laptop to http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02834030/c02834030.pdf, for the location and type (they vary in appearance, but a lot of them looks like a watch battery). If you feel uncomfortable, replacing yourself, have a pc do service technology...

  • All of a sudden the icons on the desktop on my laptop Dell are sort of gray and clock in the taskbar is in white letters on a gray background.

Original title: need assistance to restore the appearance of the desktop icons and the taskbar clock

Don't know if it's something I've done or what, but all of a sudden the desktop on my laptop Dell icons are little greyed out - they are still useable but difficult to read.

At the same time, the clock in the taskbar is the same way - white letters on a gray background - very difficult to read.

Can anyone help?  I'm not very savvy computer so need to very simple instructions.

I currently have Windows 8 and am installing 8.1

    Thank you

    Sue Pollard

    Hi Sue,

Remember to proceed with changes in hardware or software on the computer before the show?

This issue would have occurred due to any software recently or changes to the material on the computer.

Since the problem started recently, you can try to perform a system restore and see if it helps.

    a. press the Windows and R to open the Run dialog box.

    b. type rstrui and then press enter.

    c. perform the restore the system to a restore point before the problem started and check if it helps.

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

Hope the helps of information. Let us know if you need help with Windows related issues. We will be happy to help you.

  • Clock stops on the pre 2

I can't find for the Pre 2, but a search reveals major problems with the internal clock in many products of Palm / WebOS 2.x.

My problem is that whenever I have turn off the display of the clock stops. Time network or not makes no difference. The clock works if the phone is on the touchstone charger, regardless if the screen is on or off.

There is no application synchronization clock for the pre 2 and I checked that I have the latest WebOS. The phone had behaved this way since I got it two weeks ago. Restarts, or even the battery doesn't help either.

    Any suggestions?

I got the unit replaced by Palm and now is able to tell the time correctly.

  • INSPIRON 1545 time-clock stopped

    Hello

My 2 year old grandson has decided to play with my INSPIRON 1545, I had left on while I was preparing dinner. It was touching and hit all the keys at once for a good 3-4 minutes before I could leave what I was doing to stop it as I stupidly thought that no harm could be done at laptop computer system simply by working the keyboard too!

In 3-4 minutes of him knocking and tapping multiple keys on the keyboard of my laptop closed of the isolates and it was not until the grandson returned home a few hours later I tried to restart the laptop and discovered that it would not 'start '.

When I turn the laptop on I see the LOGO DELL page and for about 30 seconds, I get a black screen with the message "Time-of-day clock stopped" in the upper left. I tried everything to go beyond this error message such as turn on by pressing constantly F2 and F12 and F8 but... nothing is only two screenshots I get are the DELL LOGO screen then black screen with "Time-of-day clock stopped" message.

I tried calling DELL technical support, but I stayed on hold every time after that I gave them the 'service number'... I give up after 10-15 to be kept waiting... I now gave up on 4 - 5 times after having gone through the same exact ritual with DELL technical support 4 - 5 times without ever actually learn to speak to a "live" technician

I hope someone here can give me some advice as to what may be the problem and what I can do to bring my laptop "back from the dead"...?

All responses will be very well appreciated and followed... so, more we're crazy please lol. Maybe one of you has experienced this problem yourself at some point, or maybe you have a suggestion as to what could be the cause of the problem... maybe someone could tell me just what the "Time-of-day clock" is and where it might be, to be honest I have no idea and has none of my friends whom I've asked...? ... N °

Quick intervention is required as the clock time needs re-winding

    Thank you

    Love today

The stopped clock time the clock chip has no means.  You must be a repair shop that can weld in a new (figure on $150 or more) or replace the motherboard (or more with work on this double figure).

  • Portege 3490CT: clock stops and how to remove the second operating system?

I recently bought a 3490CT that has a few probs.
    (1) the continuous clock to stop--has a separate battery? It has an impact on things like sending emails, which are always evil dated/timed. You can set an hour latter, it stops again.

    (2) it came with 2 operating systems, Wind98 and Win2000... you get a choice at startup, how do I remove the old?

    (3) what updates are available to make it faster - playing DVDs on the "plug in the drive" is slow and jerky...

Thanks to all, any info appreciated.

Which one do you mean? The clock of the OS?
Check in the BIOS if the time and data are correct.
Eventually, you use settings area of bad weather and time of the laptop is going to be permanent synchronize with internet time server. This option that you can find in the Date and time properties

  • Satellite Pro L10: CMOS clock stops when the OS is not running

    Hello

We know a reason why the cmos clock would stop when the operating system does not (phone off), the laptop is 18 months old, I've updated the bios tries to give him a good boost, but no effect, he was also in charge for 24 hours.
    Any advice would be great.

    See you soon
    Paul

    Hello

Usually if the BIOS date/time is wrong and always changes, the RTC battery which is mounted on the motherboard fails.
In this case the CMOS battery needs to be changed or maybe only removed for awhile

If your laptop is 18 months, the guarantee must be valid.
Generally if you have registered on the page of Toshiba notebook the warranty covers all repairs for about 2 years (24 months).

In this case, I would recommend contacting ASP in your country, because the technician must be able to solve this problem very easily.

    Good bye
