Adjusted image saved as tiff

I notice that when I make adjustments to a dng image in Lightroom 2, the adjusted version is automatically saved in tiff format. Is it better that she recorded as other dng file... or is it still possible?

If you leave an external as editor Photoshop you usually return to save in TIFF format. This is because once you change in the external program you usually make the changes that somehow change the image data. DNG files are RAW files. That's why you can not save them.

There is an option (and here is the source of much confusion) to save on PhotoshopRAW. Really, this isn't a RAW file that we know in digital photography. DNG is as CR2, NEF, etc., RW2 and cannot be saved to only read from.

  • CS6 saving the Tiff file only under .pbm

I'm saving a tiff from an Imacon scanner image before opening in ACR and change it.

Then proceed to Photoshop CS6 for Mac for subsequent changes.  The savings, it will save only .pbm and not .tif.  If I change the suffix is present as .tif.

However, it will not then import into LR4.

It will then open in Photoshop CS5 and it also tries to save as a .pbm, but it will easily change to a suffix of Tiff and save and then reopen in LR4 as a .tif.

Source of confusion.  What is the problem and how can I solve this problem?

My crystal ball says you did two things:

    • You copied your old version of Photoshop plug-ins in the folder plugins to the latest version.
    • Or you set the additional plug-ins folder to point to plug-ins under the old version of Photoshop.

You can not mix plug-ins provided by Adobe with the old version of Photoshop to the top with the most recent version.  Will happen strange things, like what you see here.

You must cancel whatever the thing you did above.

To get all of your old versions of plug-ins in Photoshop CS6 you must get the new installers, or otherwise, to isolate ONLY the plug-ins 3rd third (excluding plug-ins provided by Adobe) and copy them into a folder to access.

  • I don't want Firefox to the files I saved in Web sites "remember" front How can I return Firefox to its old image saving habits?

I recently got a new computer and upgraded to Firefox 8. Now, when I save an image from a website, Firefox will 'remember' and, next time I save an image, open a case at random that I saved an image in the last time I was on this site, then choose Save there. This would not be a problem if, 1) was not a folder randomly on the many I save in and (2) if I have to cancel on a picture for some reason, the next time I will save (seconds later, without leave/refresh a page), it chooses one at random to save me in and I put my files.

I would like to get Firefox back to the previous image, saving habits, where I have to choose the folder every time, and he won't 'remember' everything that I did, as it is originally only headaches.

The current versions of Firefox don't forget not the directory download, based on the URL, so if the URL changes then the default folder can be selected if he has not selected a folder for this server before download.

Is anyone aware of a black halo around objects of transparent feathers. The halo occurs when the area full of pic feathers to transparency.

  • Where is change in Camera Raw to TIF images saved and how can it be undone?

Being new Camera Raw I find there are advantages to use RTAs to make certain types of changes even to non-premieres images like hair that I have a lot of.  One of ACR adjustments I find particularly useful vs using the PS is to adjust the dark and light tones.

I feel that ACR TIF file changes, for example, are "non-destructive" - that is, which means that I could always go back to the original at any time.  With changes to a raw image, I could do than to simply delete or even rename the sidecar XMP image. But it seems that the pods are not created for changes to a TIF image and so far I don't see how I could go back to the original TIF image / non-revised prior to the amendments of the cab.

Just try to understand the possibility to use ACR for non-premieres images.  Grateful if someone could give advice or not ACR change my TIF images are in fact non-destructive, and if so, how could revert to the original image before changes in ACR?

    Thanks for your advice.

    Jerry Keenehan

The changes are non-destructive, even to what is believed, stored as xmp data embedded in the tif (Similarly for jpg) file.  ACR does not have any warning that it is to overwrite the original file.  The pixel data are unchanged.  Of course, only programs Adobe will display the changes.

Changes can be "erased" by right clicking on the thumbnail in Bridge, invoke develop settings and select clear settings.  The tif file remains forever altered in what a story is embedded in the file, but for all practical purposes, the changes are deleted.

  • Color change to image saved and exported

    Hi all

    I hope someone can help.

I kept different images for a client, saved as CMYK and color from the client, other laptops, printers and phones is extremely different, almost like a RAW unedited image. I have checked through all the color settings and read all the forums, but nothing. The image I see in PS CS6 is very different from those printed and read by others, the skin is red and image has a very strong purple tinge. I'm going crazy...

The suggestions will be extremely beneficial as contact for Adobe is good, does not exist!

    Kind regards

There are several potential problems here. If you want to send clients, check first convert them to sRGB files.

    To go more in depth:

    • There is no such thing as 'generic' CMYK or RGB 'generic '. You have to study and work, specific CMYK and RGB icc profiles. Image > command Mode can be very misleading and lead to disastrous results, if you don't know that. What it does, is to refer to any CMYK or RGB profiles that you configured as your workspaces, in the Photoshop color settings.
    • To CMYK, you must have the right profile. The profile is one that describes in fact offset press and the papers that will be used for printed documents. Get this printer profile (or they tell you that you use). The default value of Photoshop's us Web Coated (SWOP), but it is actually not used anywhere outside America.
    • All CMYK and RGB profiles differ widely in range, otherwise said, what colors can be contained in this color space. Saturated colors that lie in the range in a single space, may be out of gamut in another. Then it just gets cut and may not be reproduced.
    • A line right profile conversion, so RGB > CMYK, RGB > RGB or something else, will keep the colors as much as possible. But out-of-range colors are lost and replaced by the closer in the range.
    • Photoshop is color managed will properly manage all these profiles and really show you what the file looks like. It will convert between them and preserve the appearance of the color. Many the most other viewers the picture are not the color management and don't know what an ICC profile. They cannot be trusted and will probably wrong colors displayed. Poor/lack of CMYK support in these viewers make it even worse.
  • How can I adjust image height and width independently?

When I do the image > > dialog size of the Image, adjusting height, width automatically changes.

I want to change the independent of each other. There is no option of constraint on the box to uncheck.

I looked in preferences and haven't found anything.

I found nothing in the online help.

I use Photoshop 2014 on cloud on an iMac in summer 2011 and the latest OS X operating system.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

To maintain the original proportions of width to the height measurement, make sure the option keep Proportions is enabled. If you want to scale the width and height independently from each other, click the maintain Proportions to dissociate them.  The icon resembles a linked chain.

  • Is it possible to save the adjusted image virtual copy and throw away the original?

I made a virtual copy of an image which I then adjusted in LR to the way I want to keep it. Now, I wonder if there is a way to easily apply these adjustments to the original, so I can then throw the virtual copy, or do I save the virtual copy and delete the original? I have just need two images, one that is not a custodian. I don't want to delete the original if the virtual copy depends on its existence.

I want to keep the images up to that I want and I'm working to erase those images that I never use. According to what is the best way to handle the above situation will allow me to make a few essential to my catalog household.

    TIA,

    Ken

You must copy the changes to the original, and then destroy the virtual copy. The other way ' round will not work.

In the grid, do a right click on the virtual tour you are interested in. In submenus 'Develop settings' and "Metadata Presets", you can choose "copy...". ». What to do in each of them, right click on the original and make the two corresponding blocks.

  • HP Deskjet F2280 all-in-one: color print images saved offline problems.

When I print an image that I downloaded from the internet, the colors do not conform to the original (a lot of blue in there).  I printed directly from the printer itself, and that's fine.  I changed the color cartridge, did the cleaning, checked, I had download the correct software and tried to open the image in paint, but still not good.  I changed the setting to fast eco who, although not the bright, the image itself so more true to color.  Can anyone help please.

Hi @anniegwenand welcome to the Forums of HP.

I see that when you print images that you save from the internet, the colors are not what you expect and the printed output is more blue than the original. Because when you print directly form the printer (copy) the output is as expected, I suspect that the issue has to do with the print settings, a driver or a program that you are printing from.

I suggest to use the following steps to remove the printer from the device and printers and the driver from the properties of the server. This will help isolate the driver.

    1. in the folder "devices and printers".

    2. choose "print server properties.

    • Win XP - with no printer selected, click 'File' then 'server properties '.
    • Windows Vista - with no printer selected, press 'Alt' and then click 'file' then 'server properties '.
    • Windows 7/8, 8.1 and 10 -select any printer in the "Devices and printers" folder and click on "Print server properties" above.

    3. click on the "Drivers" tab at the top of the window "properties of the print server.

    4. choose the printer that you want to uninstall, and then click 'remove '.

    5. choose "Remove driver only.

    6. the next screen will give a warning, letting you know that the removal of the driver package will remove it from the system. Click 'Yes' to say are you sure you want to do.

If documents are stuck in the spooler to print, you see an error, cancel all documents waiting in the print queue or try restart the spooler to print, and then try to delete the driver from 'Print server properties' again. If she will not always remove the sachet, restart the computer and the printer should correct this error "in use" and allow the driver to be removed.

Once the driver is then deleted, open start > all programs > HP folder > folder printer > HP Setup and software (or the icon of the printer). The installation screen and the software opens and you can click on connect a new printer.

If the fingerprints still don't match what you see on the screen, try to print in a different program. For example, instead of save an internet image, print the image directly from the browser. In bold, what brings the cause to wonder, when you save, you are printing on photo paper? Have you compared the print quality between an image printed on ordinary paper and a image on photo paper? If you use photo paper, and that's the only time where the output is more blue than expected, please try different photo paper. I know this sounds unlikely, but I seen the book be causing more time than you probably imagine.

Let me know the results of your efforts at this point, and we will proceed if other troubleshooting is necessary. If something I suggested the problem, please click Accept button Solution below to report your post as solved.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing back on your part.

  • Why not Vista Home Basic or IE8 display images saved in saved, html pages after I change them?

My system is Vista Home Basic and IE8.
As an amateur, I often save Web pages with the content I want, then later in offline mode, I change the content of the Web page so that the party I want to keep. Often, the Web page contains an image, and when I want only the part of this picture, I change to delete unwanted parts. For example, I can only wish part of a radio chart.
Vista Home Basic or IE8 will not display these edited images, jpg and gif. I can only record the image as a bitmap, which Vista Home Basic or IE8 will display, after having been edited.
I tried to share the image with EVERYONE. I tried to share the webpage with ALL file.
I don't know if this problem is of Vista Home Basic or IE8, but this IS Microsoft.
Someone knows a way to solve this problem?
What is one of the tools Microsoft neutered for the cheap Vista Home Basic?

The painting seems to be the problem.  I had not heard of this problem with the paint before, but it is possible, that he has always been there.  At least you have a program that gives you a work around for the problem you may need to consider that your standard procedure (since there is no way to uninstall it and reinstall Microsoft Paint on its own to fix everything that could be bad if indeed there is one problem other than a stardard deficit in the program.  It is not a very sophisticated program, after all - but what you try to do should work as far as I know (he just apparently)).

Maybe you can get more information in the Forum program: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaprograms/threads where people who specialize in Vista (like Microsoft Paint) additional programs will be more than happy to help you with your problem (if there is in fact a solution).

    I hope this helps.

  • Old image saved in Flex builder?

My application draws a path of the database icon. The image will then appear in my application. Now, the picture is the same path with the same name. Basically, it points to the same path of the icon except for the image of the icon is now different. But, my request still the old image of loading. I searched my C: drive and made sure that there is no such thing as the old icon. I reboot the system and rebuild the project. But he continues to show the old image of the icon. Any idea?

Could be a number of things. First thing I would try is to clear the cache of your browser. If this does not work, consider adding some kind of version number to the URL of the image. That will certainly force the browser to download the new image.

Also... make sure that any Web server you are using is not send a HTTP 304 response. A 304 response indicates to the browser that the resource on the Web server has not changed and to go ahead and use whatever the version, it is cached on the client.

    Hope that helps.
