Administrator role
Hello all-Shared residence I assigned my administrator role ID for planning and Essbase (Administrator role) attributed to two shared services. I then refreshed scurity via EAS. I am able to login with my ID so in space work and service Regional. However when I go to SEA and go to security > users and see my ID it in Application Type access I see user type as an administrator and request access Planning Type. I remmeber that when assign us an ID as an administrator for Essbase and planning it appears essbase and planning. When I see my owner ID request and some other ID native administration they show Essbase and planning in application Type Access. This is when it is planning and Essbase & planning both?
Please advise!
Thank you!
Hello
Connect to Shared Services, expand application groups, expand essbase, right-click on the name of the essbase server and select "Assign Access Control"
Select the user, move it to the right window.
Tick the user and multi select the two Planning/Essbase in box, and then click the tick. Record.
Safety of refresh of SAE and the user must be essbase and planning.
Ok?
See you soon

Updated PS3 IOM environment - absent administrator roles
EIS,
I installed upgrading for OIM 11 g PS2-> PS3. Everything seems to work as it should, however, the button for 'Administrator Roles' is not present on the tab 'manage', which I find a bit odd.
The button and related features is when installing a fresh environment and enabling audit services, however, when the upgrade of the enviornemnt, he seems to have disappeared.
Someone at - it solved this problem? In other words: anyone found the controller which allows actually this button?
It is the missing button in our upgrade:
Kind regards
Vegard
Once again, the IHA
For those that I've been wondering about this, you must set the system property named 'Workflow policies Enabled' True. In the event you have a PS1/PS2 to PS3, it is mandatory to show this feature. However, if you are on a clean install of the variant of the PS3 - it is not necessary that the property is set to TRUE by default.
Kind regards
Vegard
PS: This IS remove all customizations made make the tab 'manage '.

This still applies (5.0 and 5.5). I might have missed in the 5 documentation site. I see still ESX Admin workaround applies to 5.5 and wondered about the role of local administrators.VMware vSphere 4 - ESX and vCenter Server
It's the 4.0 site doc."Host records all selected Windows domain user, or a group through the process of assigning permissions." By default, all users who are members of the local windows Group istrators Adminthe vCenter Server have the same rights of access as any user assigned to the Adminsector role. Users who are members of the group Administrators can log on as individuals and have full access. »
EDIT - I found this... VMware vSphere 5.1
Seems to be the same... :))
The main difference is that before 5.1 and 5.5, the local Administrators group on the server vCenter Server is the default vCenter Server Administrator. With vCenter 5.x with the addition of SSO, installing vCenter, you will be asked which user account or the group will be initially given and vCenter Server Administrator role. Here is the screenshot. This screenshot, after installing vCenter, only the [email protected] has the role of administrator on the vCenter server.
If you upgrade your server vCenter to 5.x since a previous version using a Simple installation, if I remember correctly, you won't see the screen above as the installation will use the existing as the vCenter Administrator local Windows Administrators group.
It will be useful.

HelloThis time, I have a question about the GUI Web Client itself. I've been working on looking for predefined privileges before offering a feature in our plugin.
I am able to know if the privilege is granted for an object in my data provider.
Now, I'm ready to test, so I have:
-created a new user in the WebClient service
-created a role that will be assigned to this user of an object (host)
Now, I want to assign privileges to the role, but has problems to understand GUI.
I go to Administration-> roles
-create a new role
-Click on the tab 'privileges '.
Here, I see a tree containing all the privileges that can be assigned to the role, but I'm not able to map these 1 x 1 to
the ones I'm looking for. An example is
'Host.Config.Settings' that is needed to perform the UpdateIPMI() operation for a host.
For example, in the tree, I opened
v home
v Configuration
I expected to see 'Settings', but only
-Advanced settings
-Change the settings
So my question is, how do I know which of these to be defined (without error). Is there a documentation which maps the privileges in the GUI to
the 'real' like 'Host.Config.Settings '? The link help for the link to the Documentation isn't really help here.
These are the privileges for which I find no parameters (at least, it's not intuitive)
Host.Config.Autostart
Host.Config.Settings
Host.Config.NetService
Thanks for the Info.
Cathy
Hi Cathy,.
Here's what you'll need:
Host.Config.AutoStart = startup configuration automatic virtual machine
Host.Config.Settings = change the settings
Host.Config.NetService = security profile and firewall

Welcome
I have a problem with the role of the system administrator
How to create the role of administrator?
I want to create the Administrator role provider with lower privileges as system administrator.
I can choose role when creating the provider administrator. Only, see System Administrator role.
How can I change?
Best regards
Cree
"Read-only provider must see all organization, vApp, VM and networks of the organizations, resource agencies, but do not change anythings. '.
vCloud does not allow this (if I read what you correctly). Basiclly to stay true to multi-tenancy model VMware allows a system administrator who can do almost anything... and then real roles to one per level org (so an admin readonly needed an account by org with the rights they have so that org). It's a real pain and I know was asked to VMware for to make changes (to support clients of the company place - maybe some users should have read rights in some organizations and many others - using the same account).
Please open a request with VMware to let them know what you need, hopfully we can get plent of people who do this and they will make the model of the roles a bit more robust.

OES MAPI problem "assigning managers to an Administration role.
HelloI have the problem to assign by program directors to a role of Directors using the right Oracle Management Server APIs. I can successfully run the sample code after the <Developer Guide> Chapter 5.4.3 main assigning to an administrative role
My code is like this:
List of Directors of < PrincipalEntry > = new ArrayList < PrincipalEntry > ();
principals. Add (new BasicPrincipalEntry
("weblogic.security.principal.WLSUserImpl", "Lisa")) ;Allow users in the role list
admManager.grantAdminRole (customer, principals);And no error or an exception occurs in java app side or oes_admin. But when connect to the admin of http://vmware.localdomain:7001 / apm GUI, I could not connect with Lisa.
I also tried to manually assign app1 with the role of the Chief Executive Officer, and then Lisa can successfully connect to the admin GUI.
Then I run the app to assign app2 with admin role delegated to Lisa programmatically. Connect with Lisa couldn't see app2.
I checked the connection of "weblogic" system admin admin GUI, and he can see that app2 already have Lisa listed on the external user to administrator delegated to app2.
I even checked the DEV_APM. JPS_CHANGELOG in oracle for oes database schema. I can see the changelog d¿ouvertures java app assiging.
Can anyone tell me the reason why work by programming user entitled to delegate admin not correct? Is there some mistake in my java app code or there is a bug in product OES?
I use OES 11.1.1.5 version 11.2.0, Weblogic 10.3.5 on Oracle Enterprise Linux 6 32-bit Oracle database.
Thank you very much.
Thanks a lot for all response messages. Your proposals, I tried to distribute the policy and finally it works!
The code snippet is 4-8 using the distributePolicy() method , listed below:
Download the PolicyDistributionManager
PDM PolicyDistributionManager =
app.getPolicyDistributionManager ();
distribute policies
String distID = pdm.distributePolicy (true);
DistributionStatusEntry status = pdm.getDistributionStatus (distID);
System.out.println ("' Start distributing policy '");
While (status.getPercentComplete ()! = 100) {}
Thread.currentThread () .sleep (200);
System.out.Print(".");
status = pdm.getDistributionStatus (distID);
}
System.out.println ("' finishing distribute political '");
There is something else that I found DEV_APM. JPS_CHANGEBLOG:
If this is the first time the user assigned as a delegated administrator, you must also grant user with applicaionRole 'APMViewer' application 'oracle.security.apm '.
You can check the code example of directors of 2-9 allocation of an Application role , also listed below:
ApplicationPolicy app = ps.getApplicationPolicy("oracle.security.apm");
AppRoleManager roleMgr = app.getAppRoleManager ();
Build the list of users
List
= new ArrayList () managers; principals. Add (new BasicPrincipalEntry
("weblogic.security.principal.WLSUserImpl", "Nick")) ;
Allow users in the role list
admManager.grantAdminRole (customer, principals);
AppRoleEntry appviewerRole = roleMgr.getAppRole("APMViewer");
roleMgr.grantAppRole (appviewerRole, school principals);

pls help.
Thank youHi AAG,.
It depends on the browser to the browser. In the console of administration of IOM, some options may be opened with pop up blocks. And some options will not be opened due to blocks of pop-up. Try to allow the pop-up or try with another browser to open.

DMM Administrator role maintains only superuser after reboot
Hi all
I am running version 5.1 DMM and use LDAP authentication to access the DMM. I currently have 3 users defined in the role of the Admin, me and two others.
Whenever I have perform a reboot of the DMM (user interface, Administration , Services tab, then clicking Options, server restart), all administrators of Admin role disappear, and none of the directors can log in with their own powers but must instead use the "Superuser" account until I have add in the Admin role.
Does anyone have the same problem and how to solve?
Thank you
See you soon
Linda
Linda,
My apologies.
It is a known issue:
CSCta11809 - DMM: user role going to the ADMIN to READ ONLY (LDAP)
The problem has been resolved in DMS 5.2. Briefly, the problem occurs when the DMM
sync with the LDAP server and there has been changes to LDAP users.
So the DMM removes admin users in the admin role list.
I've tested this in point 5.2 and it is solved.
There is no real solution for this. If you can not put right now, you can minimize
the effect in any manual do LDAP synchronization or schedule longer between intervals
synchronization, which may require a setting of role after synchronization.
If this answers your question, take the time to mark thisdiscussion answered & rate the answer.
Thank you!

How can I change which ad group is associated with the role of administrator?
Looks like any admin domain has rights, and I would like to specify a specific security group.

Administration, role option is grayed out
Hello. I am trying to create roles for the first time, and this option is disabled. I am connected with administrative rights.
Thank you
Please go to the sight of the "Administration", then roles, instead of using the drop-down list.
You can use the drop-down menu to manipulate the roles when you're under Administration window!

Problems with the installation of program and the Administrator role
I have a new operating system in 9 years (XP user) and finally bought a new computer with Vista and I'm totally lost. User and Administrator profiles seemed like a good idea, but they are inconvenient for me and significantly. I was lucky good installation of some programs of the administrator account, such as the office, and they work very well with other standard users. HOWEVER, many programs do not work, and although they appear on the desktop for each user, when I try to open them, they want to go through the installation. Makes no sense.
I wish I'd stayed with XP at this point.
My update is that I gave up. I don't have the time and energy to devote to their dleaing with Windows 7. If I could have just installed Outlook and it was operated as Outlook Express identities requiring passwords to open an Inbox, everything would be great. But having a single account opens an Outlook Inbox before requesting a password so that any user can come and see the Inbox of Outlook fins without password user. The password is only seems to allow the Inbox send and receive new mail since the last connection. Frankly, Windows has become extremely bossy and was intended to do what Microsoft thinks is best, not that users don't. I hate it. I hate the new version of Office as well. I hate users. Basically, it's the worst purchase I have made. If I could have picked up this machine and bought a new iMac I would have but I got more than 14 days before the full extent of its clunkiness.
I have a new machine, I want to throw because the operating system responds to my needs are simple... which are a program of easy mail to several users, some different software work-related (I deleted the office suite, I bought and reinstall my copy of Microsoft Office 2000 that is how the current exercise sucks) and for music management and use. In fact, the uses of music and electronic mail are the major uses of family and there where Windows sucks the most. The 'user' approach is required by Windows but iTunes does not work like that, nor it works easy to operate with multiple users.
So that's the update. Bottomline, I have this thing on Craigslist to sell and, hopefully, by a Mac. I should never have left Mac 8 years and I never should have bought a Windows machine last month.

Assigning the role of system administrator
I am able to create tenants using the SSO account (Administrator @vsphere.local). Is there a way to create the other users or LDAP/AD groups for the System Administrator role account
Unfortunately, that won't work. I went through a lot of tests on this and in the current versions, there is no way to assign the system administrator role to another user.

Role "equivalence" to the security administrator
If you application (on all applications) Manager, create / remove application and commissioning, besides the possibility of someone of another creation of new applications that you do not have rights on you the equivalent of Sysadmin rights, or are there things that only admin can do, if so what?
Similarly, is there a real difference between the use of the admin user and the Administrator role granted to another user, in terms of pure 'power '?
Thank you
Robert.
Hello Robert,.
We are in the Essbase forum and I'll refer to Essbase only.
The role of the administrator will have access to the properties of the server and the role of "create / delete the application" does not work.
Another order of the day called the substitution variables. The scale of the system cannot be defined by the administrator. Specific application can be defined with the role of "Application Manager" application.
For the rest, I know not all the differences.
Kind regards
Philippe
