The question

Dear Adobe forum,

I have a user who has problems with Adobe Acrobat DC. The program stops at 5 seconds after you start and no error messages appear, except in the event log Windows I have indicated above.

I searched everywhere for a solution to this problem, but I've never met who were able to remedy.

I tried the following:

-A simple reinstallation of Adobe Acrobat DC

-Remove Adobe Acrobat DC using "Adobe Reader and Acrobat cleaning tool" Adobe (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html)

-Install the latest windows updates

-User temp folder cleaned up (no relation no result, but only because these files are always a mess)

I've never seen this problem before and it's only happened to this one user. All users in my company use the same exact Adobe Acrobat installation.

The only difference I see from other users in my company, is that this user is one of the few other users windows 8 - all others are running 8.1 or 10.

I really hope that this problem can be solved and please let me know if you need clarification or information.

Try to reset the preferences by referring to this link: How to reset preference settings in Acrobat format.

You can try to create a new user account and check if it works in the new user account.

    I consider this a case of corrupt preferences. I will suggest you to do a new installation of the Reader application on your computer.

    Please, try the following:

    Please delete your temp folder by going to %Temp%

    Disable any AntiVirus or firewall for the installation process.

    Remove the drive by using the cleaning tool. Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs

    Reinstall it from Offline Installer. Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

    Restart your computer after installation

    I tried several times to open the program (Acrobat DC) on my iPad Air, but it kept crashing at startup. 2 years worth of documents in the location of the local file. I deleted the app and reinstalled it, my space tablets has not changed. Is it possible that the information is still on my Tablet?

    I'm really sorry that you have had a bad experience with the new Acrobat DC application.

    If you uninstall any application (not only Acrobat DC IOS) iOS, iOS will erase all data in associated app, including your PDF documents.  If you have a full backup of your iPad before the Acrobat DC update, you should be able to restore it and turn off the automatic update of the applications.

    You mentioned "two years for a value of documents".  You remember the total size of the documents?  We heard other users they experienced the same or similar accident and had more than 1.5 GB of PDF documents that are stored locally on the iPad.

    I just downloaded Photoshop CC today and every time I try to open it, it load, load, 2 seconds after it opens it crashes. Now, I found a way around this, I do not know what combination of keys I did but he said opening the file and I downloaded a file, it says you want to save your work before Photoshop stops.     I think I have a possible solution for you. All my CC 2014 applications were crashing, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc. I'm updating graphics drivers, emptied the folder SLCache, everything that has been mentioned in this thread I did, including uninstall applications CC, run the CC cleaning tool and reinstall Photoshop CC 2014. I'm always crashes after the splash screen.

    Which managed to do work for me allowed a full control on the folder SLCache. Here's what I was told to do.

    1. go to "Program Files (x 86) \Common.

    2 remove all the contents of this folder, including hidden files.

    3. go up a level in "Program Files (x 86) \Common.

    4. right click on the SLCache file, go to properties.

    5. on the general tab, make sure "Read Only" to not verified.

    6. on the Security tab, click on "Edit"... »

    7. turn on highlight 'Users' in the group names box or the user.

    8. ensure that the "full control" permission is granted (checked).

    9 do the same for the 'Administrators' and 'SYSTEM' selections as well. (I went ahead and made sure each user/group in this list allowed full control).

    10. click on apply, Ok two dialog boxes.

    11. open your program and see if the issue is resolved.

    We are 2 co-workers who have to use Acrobat each day. My installation works fine, but on the PC of my colleague that it often crashes. She got a job with SSD integrated. Thus, its Cloud Creative applications are installed on a 2nd internal hard drive. But it's the difference between our systems.

    Curiously, the error messages differ from one accident at the other. Sometimes, they look like this:

  • Adobe Acrobat DC crashes on Windows 7 pc.

    After the upgrade to Acrobat Pro XI to Document cloud, multiple instances of Acrobat.exe show to run on Windows 7 pc causing Acrobat hang. I have to stop all the Acrobat.exe processes that are running in the Task Manager and then restart Acrobat. This is however only a temporary solution. The problem eventually returns and Acrobat will just hang out and not usable.

    That seems to have solved the problem, it is one or a combination of two things. First of all, I turn off the Welcome screen when starting and then unchecked the box "open documents as tabs in the same window" within the General preferences.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro DC - 100% crash when you try to 'save' or ' Save as '. No work of online solutions.

    I followed each guide out there on the web to solve the problem of Adobe Acrobat DC break during an attempt to 'save' or ' save under ' and nothing has worked. I tried to use the clean uninstall tool and have completely re-installed fees, I've unmarked, the checkboxes for "online storage see saving files", tinkered with potential conflicts antivirus, off 'enable enhanced security '. Right now, it's literally impossible to work on a PDF file and make no progress on this issue. Any help would be extremely beneficial.

    To validate the solution that I found:

    First of all, I would like to express that I have do not tolerate illegal use / misuse of proprietary information, but I indeed did in the past, and while this will discuss specific ways in which this is done for Acrobat, it is strictly intended as a solution for those of you who want to legally use / buy Acrobat who have been down this road as all of the solutions presented revolve around the basic presumption that you have legally purchased Acrobat or downloaded the trial version.

    Second, if you try to contact Adobe regarding this problem, there is no working solution. My case was high until the next layer of support, but the technical support specialist walked through all the "known" methods and he has already proposed, that you can find in the forums / online. I assume that the support specialist understands how the hosts file works and has probably knowledge in order for the program to function properly, the hosts file should not be tampered with - however, I do not support "script" walks in the scenario in which a customer has already changed this file. So respect my specialist who spent time with me.

    Most installation through non-traditional means methods require a basic knowledge to edit the 'hosts' file in your systems32 folder. Most of the earlier versions of Acrobat would require a form any of editing this file patch, either through increased privileges Books edition of the hosts file.

    Indeed, you would block Adobe to be able to contact some outgoing IPS, essentially fooling the program during its use. Come Adobe DC and creative cloud - where Adobe legitimately does not use the programs without creating and connecting to the user ID while using their programs.

    NET effect, not quite sure, but apparently a certain connection to Adobe is necessary in order to use certain features of their applications - especially in Adobe Acrobat DC, be able to 'save' or ' Save as ' a PDF.

    In order to solve the problem:

    1. manually change your hosts file and remove all entries associated with Adobe or download the AdobeLimitedAccessRepairTool (access error limited creative for desktop application cloud ) that will automatically fix your hosts file.

    2. use the Adobe Acro cleaning tool (Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs ) to perform a clean uninstall of Adobe Acrobat.

    3. restart your PC.

    4. either download the trial or paid Version of Adobe Acrobat directly from Adobe's Web site, which will also download Creative Cloud Adobe software.

    5 from them, install Acrobat / creative cloud and try save a pdf file. The problem should be solved.

    I can reproduce the problem by downloading (non-traditional ways) the latest version of Acrobat: 2015.017.20050 and by doing one of the multiple methods of blocking Adobe. Thus, it seems logical to assume that there is a function related to the saving function which requires interaction with Adobe servers, otherwise the program inevitably crashes over the economy.

    I checked only this method works if you have (1) changed your hosts with respect to any IP Adobe file, or (2) If you have installed Acrobat (non-traditional ways) and "patched" to aid AMT emulator of the painter and specifically only to 'save' or ' save under ' problem. This method does NOT / has not been tested for any other mode to "patch" Acrobat including, but not limited to: (1) using the the 'Universal patching Adobe"or (2) with any"Keygen"nor has she been tested for any other function that inherently requires some kind of access to Adobe.

    Again, I want to express the fact that I'm not condoning the illegal use / misuse of confidential information. I want to make this post to help a large population of users who probably have faced or will face this problem and who are legitimately tent / paying to use Adobe products and Adobe to understand when addressing solutions to the problems, other factors of root to play that affect your programs such as an uninstall / reinstall will not correct.
