  You can try the steps below:

  1. close the application of creative cloud.

  2. navigate to the OOBE folder.

  Windows: [system drive]: \Users\ [user name] \AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE

  Mac OS: /Users/ [user name] / folder/Library/Application Support / Adobe / OOBE

  3. delete the opm.db file.

  4. launch creative cloud.

  Hi Andre,

  Let's review what you have and why you cannot sign, which was your original question.

  You have a digital ID that resides in the Windows certificate store. In this case, think 'store' as in 'storage', not in a place where you buy something (e.g. iTunes). This particular digital ID is "self-signed", which means that the public key certificate has been signed by the corresponding private key. I don't know how you generated the digital ID, but any software that allows you to did not add the values of the extension of the use of the key. So, when you looked at the intended use (in the same section below where you tried to delete the user name and the name of the issuer), he said no 'specified '.

  When comes the time to sign a PDF Acrobat/Reader will scan the list of available digital IDS and check the extension of the use of the key and search for one of the two elements. You must see 'either sign the Document' or "Sign Transaction" appearing next to the intended use so that the digital ID can be used for signing.   Havng comes to spend a lot of time on a chat session at Adobe. The "fix" was to reinstall drive DC Pro, allow it to update, creative cloud app update sign My Adobe account and then sign back in and it worked magically.

  Acrobat Reader DC is not an update to Acrobat Pro. It is a different application, with less features (since it's free).

  You need really not drive if you have Acrobat. You can remove and re - associate PDF files on your system with Acrobat.

  I saw this question several times when you are looking for a response, but none of the solutions have worked for me. I have been using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (15.4) for months to edit and comment on PDF documents that I printed and then saved as a PDF file to an online mapping system. Until today, I was able to use the shortcut CTRL + E to bring up the properties toolbar and change the properties for the text boxes, call outs etc., including the font properties. It is in mode 'Commentary'.

  I am now only able to change the properties of a text box - if I select the text itself all the properties in the toolbar are greyed out.

  I tried:

  • Closing and reopening the program
  • With only a single document at a time
  • Ensure the document is not read only or PDF/A
  • Ending the process of "acrotray" (I think that's what it was called)
  • Opening of a previous document when I was able to change the font properties - can do it on any document, old or new, now
  • Checking the properties are not "locked."
  • Verification I have user rights on MS Edge (the mapping system used only works on here, not IE)
  • Updates of the program

  A point that is no accident, that's when I started this work several months ago I set all of the default values that I need them and them have not changed at all, until last week. Doubtful that it is causing the problem but worth a mention anyway.

  Help, please! I need to solve this problem as soon as POSSIBLE in order to do my job!
