Software Adobe acrobat reader always displays the necessary update, but there is none
When I run a check of my modules, I always get a message of update of the Adobe acrobat reader software, but there is no update available
For some reason Adobe any does always have the latest version of Adobe Reader on its download page. I suggest to use the internal update within Adobe Reader DC Auditor:
Help > check for updates
Or you can use this reference page:

Other users have reported similar problems. My particular case: Running Firefox - date (42.0) - Windows 7 (as so far). Firefox has constantly watch the Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in is not up-to-date. I tried to update and reinstalled Acrobat. I just had request Acrobat update which has been a success and also updated to Firefox. Firefox still has reports that Acrobat is obsolete. Firefox reports that the current add-on is 15.9.20069.28170, but clicking on update now button on the Add you check page contains links to a page of Adobe update with the version number 2015.009.20069. When I search (Google) for the latest version, I've reached a page that lists all versions, updates, etc.. The latest version is 2015.009.20069. According to the Panel, the version of Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed on the computer is 15.009.20077!
As far as I can tell it's working properly, updated regularly. I don't know where the 28170 number comes from or why page Add on reports that Acrobat is out of date, unless the version update of the Acrobat Reader software is not actually update the Add On from Firefox portion.
Any suggestion or comment?
My suggestion is to ignore the information from the website of checker plugin and use the built-in functionality of Adobe to check updates. In your DC of Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat DC:
Help menu > check for updates
While the site checker plugin uses data provided by Adobe, there seems to be some discrepancies between the program and the version number of plugin that have not yet been resolved.

I don't have the option "use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox) for the Application PDF
My accounting software runs on a Mozilla browser. When I saw the reports, it downloads it instead of preview of the report in a new window. My instructions are to go to the Options/Applications Mozilla browser and replace Portable Document Format "use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox) - but this option does not exist.
In addition, how to add Applications?
The plugin can be disabled, which means, set to 'never activate', on the plugins page. I think that the forum does not detect it when you posted (see Question details > System Details more).
To verify that you can open the page modules using either:
- CTRL + SHIFT + a
- "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
In the left column, click on Plugins. On the right side, look for Adobe Acrobat. If it is disabled, it will be down on a gray box.
If your plugin is very outdated, it can be disabled for security reasons. In this case, I suggest entering your product Adobe (Reader or Acrobat) and using the Help menu > check for updates.
Update the main program should also update the plugin. If all goes well then you will be able to use again.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Firefox said that my plugin Adobe Acrobat was outdated, so I've updated. It uninstalled my Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18 and replaced it with Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 2015.008.20082 DC. I did not like this program, and more I read there are still bugs in there. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18. I went into the menu of options of Firefox under applications and changed the options Adobe to use Adobe Reader as the default application for PDF files. It is a safe choice, or should I leave Firefox dictate what PDF program I use? I am concerned about safety issues. Any opinions?
I think that your question has been answered mainly in this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1079182
In my opinion, you can trust Adobe to keep the series XI Reader updated for awhile. It is completely safe is impossible to know, given that vulnerabilities are often discovered and kept secret.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I've updated to the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, but Firefox has always said that it is obsolete. I had the Version of Adobe Reader installed 11.0.12.18. The Adobe Acrobat Reader DC uninstalled Adobe Reader software. I read that the DC version is still buggy. I think I'll uninstall Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and reinstall Adobe Reader. Furthermore, I haven't opened the DC application and updates, but there is not. When I had Adobe Reader installed I noticed in the Firefox options under applications menu there is an option to use Adobe Reader (by default). I think I'll try this option. Any advice would be appreciated.
Obsolete false warning for Adobe Acrobat Reader is a known problem, but unfortunately there is no way to repair at the moment (we are not the developers on this forum, just guys who want to help users).
Take a look at this previous thread for more information.

I want to remove several downloads Adobe Acrobat.
I have several PDF in duplicate. Adobe Acrobat files, as well as some that I have no other use. How do I permanently remove them from my computer? They take up far too much space on my PC, and they are no longer the documents that I WANT OR that you USE.
Thank you.
These files are always registered in the list of downloads of Firefox? You can see that use "show all downloads" of the arrow icon on the toolbar, or Ctrl - j.
Each successful download must have a small folder icon on the right side, and when you click on that, Firefox should launch a window of Windows Explorer with the selected download. You can press the DELETE key (or right-click > delete) the file here.
If the files are listed is no longer in Firefox, but you know where they are on the disc - for example, the downloads folder or TEMP folder - then you should be able to remove here using the DELETE key (or right-click > delete).
It work?

I had a request to update Adobe Acrobat until I'm on the internet. When I questioned the information, he displays a certificate that expired in July. I left all. I did the thing correct and safe?
It is his somewhat suspicious.
To update Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader, I suggest using the menu inside your Adobe product and then "Check for Updates". This should appeal directly to Adobe and let you know if you need an update.
I would point out that if you use plugin checker Mozilla (https://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/) Web site, it only considers the Reader/Acrobat XI (11) to be updated. If you prefer Reader/Acrobat X (10), you must rely on internal auditor updated Adobe instead of Mozilla.

This happened on & off for a while. I tried updating via firefox, uninstall and update in acrobat and firefox. He says updating but the version does not change and cannot find any evidence, he did. Even uninstall always reinstalled 10.1.4.38 - the same version that I've had since started using firefox.
Also, today I updated 'Shockwave Flash' at the same place & update says it still need to be updated (don't remember which version he says), but I had disabled Shockwave for Director "." When I gave the update kept saying to update Flash.
Any chance there is a link between Acrobat & something similar to the 'Director' which will help to update recognize? A program distant cousin?Hi Uptown22, I guess you tried to restart Windows to see if the Adobe Reader update ends after a restart, or if the update from Adobe works best when the system has just been restarted and that you did not start Firefox or any other program that could use Adobe files. If this isn't the case, you might want to try it.
If you check on Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat in your Adobe product, which version actually installed?
If you have a version higher than 10.1.4:
Search many PDF plugins on your system might try either of the following:
- full search of drive C for nppdf32.dll (be sure to search in hidden folders) - you need to check the version properties to determine if they meet your true version
- Secunia PSI (free for use on non-professional computers): http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/ - will find obsolete plugins and in its advanced mode show you the location on disk

Where can I get the Adobe Acrobat NPAPI plugin?
"Firefox support is a relatively recent addition to Adobe Reader from version 10.1.4. Therefore, even if you have to have Adobe Reader installed for a long time, you may need to install a new version to get the support of Firefox. You can also find that you need to activate Adobe within Firefox Add-on. To enable the Adobe add-on in Firefox, select Tools-> Add-ons-> Plugins, then in the list of plug-ins, locate the option start Adobe Acrobat NPAPI plugin and click on the Activate button. »
When I go in Firefox, select Tools-> Modules-> Plugins, this plugin is not there. So, where can I get?
Thanks for responding so quickly.

Plugin de Adobe Acrobat obsolete
Hello
Since today, before opening a pdf document, I get a dark page where I have to click to activate the Adobe Acrobat plugin. I have Adobe PDF plugin for Firefox and Netscape 10.1.5 and I knew it was out of date because I check regularly the page 'check the plugins', it used to be just associated with the yellow key and that was it. Today I get black screen whenever I try to view a pdf in Firefox and I have to click on it to view the pdf. The command Add-ons/Plugins Panel I can see a red warning written above the entrance of plugin indicating "Adobe Acrobat is known to be vulnerable and must be updated".
I can't update because I have Adobe Acrobat X pro, and I don't want to buy the new version of the suite or install the player pro. My Pc works with WIndows XP SP3 and is old enough, all other plugins are up-to-date, including Java and I don't want to use the new built-in pdf FF reader.Any suggestion as how to disable warnings and vulnerability screens or update the plugin without installing Adobe Reader? Thank you
