  Hi Stephen39,

  Do you have any 3rd party plugin installed for Adobe Reader? If not, close all instances of Adobe Reader running and delete the entire folder to: C:\program Adobe [version] \Reader\plug_ins.

  Now go to control panel > programs and features. Locate the entry for Adobe Reader X and choose to repair the installation.

  If you do not have a 3rd party plugin installed, try to uninstall them and see if the problem is related to the same. If it works, let me know what plugins have been the origin of the problem so that I can have a look.

  If all goes well, this should fix things.

I downloaded the adobe 9.0 SDK, but now I don't know how to continue? Visual Studio can I or can I use another program which is a freeware? What other program do you recommend?  How to open a .api file in order to see the code? I put the SDK software files in a specific location?

  1. you will need Visual Studio. Get your first plug-in compilation can be an event, be sure to use a sample project and work with it, exactly.

  2 API files are the work of other programmers. You can't look inside, and trying to do so is a violation of most software licenses.

  3 API files are installed in the Acrobat plug-ins folder.

  4. you won't find samples or code to copy/paste. You should be an experienced C/C++ programmer, you should be familiar with the basics of the PDF ISO 32000-1 file format, and you should be ready to read thousands of pages of documentation.

  My Solution: I have uninstalled Viewpoint Media Player from Windows. There is no need for me to remove the GOAL (in reference to the previous answer). If the 2 were installed at the same time seem irrelevant because GOAL still works without perspective and two of my Plugin problems have been resolved.

  Obsolete false warning for Adobe Acrobat Reader is a known problem, but unfortunately there is no way to repair at the moment (we are not the developers on this forum, just guys who want to help users).

  I need to have Acrobat reader for some of my work files, but for some reason when I load the web page that is using the drive it I get a gray screen that says 'a plugin is required to view this content. Of course, the plugin is Adobe Reader, I already installed. The web page works fine when I open it in IE, so I know that the drive is installed and working. When I go to About: Plugins Adobe isn't in the list.

  You are right. I completely forgot that I was running Waterfox. I closed and open Firefox and the plugin Adobe is there and it works.

  No temporary certificate is required. Plugin developers should test with the free Acrobat. Once it works player plugins must apply for a licence which is granted in some cases. Tax is by negotiation and can rise to $30,000 or more annually. Not free is payable for plugins for Acrobat.

  Open Acrobat Pro DC, go to the Help menu and repair the installation. In addition, cheque or updates under the Help menu, if necessary please install.
