Adobe Bridge Cache problem

When I try to open the bridge I repeatedly get a message telling me to purge the cache. I tried to do this, but the right bridge is very very slow or crashes. I have to close my PC up to get bridge to restart.

Try the suggestions below article and check if this is useful.

I'm having cache problems on my... adobe bridge is that it is full and I need to delete it, but I don't know how.  Now my deck is going slow and I have problems with it.  I hit the drop of cache down to try to clear but it does not work and I have more questions. Please help me to clear my cache another way.

You can clear your cache in two ways, or allocate more space to it if you want

To empty, compact or resize, look here:

    Edit > Preferences > Cache

    This will also show you where your cache is stored;

Or using your file manager, you can locate your cache and manually remove it

  • Feature Request (new); Adobe Bridge Cache Manager

In Adobe Bridge, the Cache is still a problem and a huge memory hog. I asked for a good Manager to Cache more than 3 years while it was necessary to CS4.

Now in CS6, I am disappointed that the cache in Bridge system has not changed. Why do you have a section in the Adobe Forums that asks the "feature request" and then ignore them?

"I would personally like a tool in the bridge that allows me to manage and control the Cache of more personal and effective manner. I would like a rocker that would keep 100% previews"in one folder for a period of time (1 day to 1 month) until the record cache is automatically purged. And an another rocker which would give me the opportunity to preserve permanently cache the selected folder (for example, an Important issue of portfolio or a folder of Images under management).

As a photographer, I take and edit a large number of photos. When I import a photoshoot with 1 500 photos (not uncommom at all), I have the previews of bridge at 100%, but for only a limited period. Unfortunately, I forgot to serve the individual cache of this file, and the cache relies on a point made very slow Adobe Bridge CS4. I have to then to purge the Cache of the entire bridge in order to make the bridge run smooth.

    Adobe couldn't care less.

Its sad but true. : (

  • Corrupted in Adobe Bridge Cache files

Bridge, left me with corrupted files in the Cache of bridge that I can't remove, or scan with Macafee or watching with other programs I have.

When I access the folder that contains the corrupted files my PC just hangs.

I have the latest version of Photoshop and Lightroom running on Windows 7 (64-bit).

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks for your comments.

The files in the Cache are, I believe, created by bridge.  Them are thumbnails of the photos.

I was able to remove them by using the "shift-delete" function, so the problem is solved.

Another question is how this has happened, and I will raise it with Adobe.

  • Adobe Bridge icon is everywhere, what is with that?

I literally hundreds and hundreds of [Adobe Bridge icon], with the following text: Adobe Bridge Cache .bc or .bct...

These are everywhere imaginable, open a folder and see them. They are in the most unlikely places that have no relation to photoshop at all. Icons are usually paired with the .bc and one with the .bct

I always screw up their, it does not affect anything, nothing does not change, or happens by. But, it is very annoying, there may be long strings of them especially in the folders of photos. They can & appear no part/everywhere, but usually only in pairs, in or outside the subfolders but finally in a folder. Not sure, but come to think of it, they may appear on the desktop periodically. Also, when I trash them they always seem to reappear more later... maybe not all but most-

Is there a way to stop this?

    I'm under Ps CS2

My system: 17 "iMac G4: 1.35 GHz, 1 GB of SDRAM, 80 GB HD, 200 GB Maxtor Ext.HD, Leopard 10.5.8.
    * XLR8 MAChSpeed G4 7457 CPU + 512 Cache *.

This has nothing to do with Photoshop. These files are bridge cache files. In CS2, there is an option to use a Central or distributed cache. Looks like you have the selected Distributed option.

    [From: http://www.adobepress.com/articles/article.asp?p=483796]

By default, Adobe Bridge stores its cache in a central location. To make the more robust cache, you can choose the option to use Distributed Cache files when Possible in the bridge's Advanced Preferences dialog box. When this option is selected, bridge stores the cache for each file in this folder. This makes the cache more robust and eliminates the need to export the cache before burning a CD or DVD. However, this creates a pair of cache files in each folder. They are normally hidden, but you can view if you choose the command view > show hidden files. There are other caching options in the submenu of the Tools menu Cache and in the Advanced preferences in bridge.

  • Adobe Bridge CC, cache problems

"Bridge has encountered a problem and cannot read the cache. Please try to purge central cache in the cache preferences to correct the situation. »

This came for the first time about 3 weeks ago. For the first time I opened it with the message, I could click on "ok" and continue working. The last 2 weeks, it won't pull up photos or anything, so I watched the central cache thing.

I'm going to 'Edit' - 'preferences' - 'hide', but when I try to "purge cache" in the lower part, it freezes. The buttons all go gray and I cannot do anything. The rest of the computer and other programs Adobe is fine. I can't even cut the program, even before you go to the preferences.

After half an hour or so of this thing being frozen, I restart the computer, but nothing changes.

I did it about 5 times, tried to uninstall and reinstall the bridge... Nothing moves!

Please help; I really need this to work.

  • It is possible to run Adobe Bridge CS6 on my Toshiba 32 bit?, I don't know why, but when I try to run this program, then the DEP blocks Adobe Bridge, what's the problem?

Adobe Bridge CS6 on my Toshiba 32 bit?, I don't know why, but when I try to run this program, then the DEP blocks Adobe Bridge, what's the problem?

This means that the program will use the incorrect memory or he is attacked by hackers or virus. See if there is an updated version.

To allow the program to function in any case type DEP in the Start menu - Help and Support.

    Help

    Change Data Execution Prevention settings

Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature that protects against viruses and other security threats by analyzing your programs to make sure that they use the system safely memory.

If you choose to protect all programs, you can always turn off DEP for individual programs. If you think that a program does not run correctly when DEP is enabled, check for a compatible version of the DEP program or an update from the software publisher before you change your DEP settings.

    1. Click to open the system.

    2. Click Advanced system settings.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. Under performance, click settings.

    4. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.

To turn off DEP for an individual program

      • Select the check box next to the program that you want to turn off DEP for and then click OK.

If the program is not in the list, click Add. Navigate to the Program files, search for the executable file of the program (it will have the .exe extension) and then click Open.

To turn on DEP for an individual program

      • Clear the check box next to the program that you want to turn on DEP for and then click OK.

Yes, please check if you have Photoshop installed on your machine, if yes open it once so that you can edit your images in Camera Raw Utility in Bridge.

Also, you can update the camera raw plugin: Camera Raw of Adobe Photoshop CC and CS6 Installer

  • Problem of keywords using Adobe Bridge CS5

    Hello

I have a great many photos in all the many issues found under one main folder.

Don't know if this is a defect in the program or a fault on my part, but what I'm trying to do is keep my list of keywords that I continue to add on... bit matter when I sometimes go back to the bridge... "and no matter what picture I select.

Problem is that when I close bridge and return to a particular image, bridge will show me only a part of all the keywords that I'd previously entered. My workaround is to all about navigation for images more alumnae who are lucky enough to have all the keywords listed. (not which means that those keywords are applied to this photo, BUT they are available). After that, the complete list of keywords in the past, I've added will now be available to any other image I have select later.

I hope I explained that properly.

I always thought that Adobe Bridge to be quite intuitive and explicit, but earlier a consult: CS5 manual just to be sure, I was not overlooking something. I couldn't find a solution.

Would appreciate any help in this regard.

    Thanks in advance.

It as one of the key words are italicized which means that they are not persistent and will disappear when you close the form.  You must click with the right button on the keyword, and then choose "persist".
