Adobe bridge cache

I'm having cache problems on my... adobe bridge is that it is full and I need to delete it, but I don't know how.  Now my deck is going slow and I have problems with it.  I hit the drop of cache down to try to clear but it does not work and I have more questions. Please help me to clear my cache another way.

You can clear your cache in two ways, or allocate more space to it if you want

To empty, compact or resize, look here:

Edit > Preferences > Cache

This will also show you where your cache is stored;

Or using your file manager, you can locate your cache and manually remove it

  • Feature Request (new); Adobe Bridge Cache Manager

In Adobe Bridge, the Cache is still a problem and a huge memory hog. I asked for a good Manager to Cache more than 3 years while it was necessary to CS4.

Now in CS6, I am disappointed that the cache in Bridge system has not changed. Why do you have a section in the Adobe Forums that asks the "feature request" and then ignore them?

    http://forums.Adobe.com/message/2652688#2652688

"I would personally like a tool in the bridge that allows me to manage and control the Cache of more personal and effective manner. I would like a rocker that would keep 100% previews"in one folder for a period of time (1 day to 1 month) until the record cache is automatically purged. And an another rocker which would give me the opportunity to preserve permanently cache the selected folder (for example, an Important issue of portfolio or a folder of Images under management).

As a photographer, I take and edit a large number of photos. When I import a photoshoot with 1 500 photos (not uncommom at all), I have the previews of bridge at 100%, but for only a limited period. Unfortunately, I forgot to serve the individual cache of this file, and the cache relies on a point made very slow Adobe Bridge CS4. I have to then to purge the Cache of the entire bridge in order to make the bridge run smooth.

    Adobe couldn't care less.

Its sad but true. : (

  • Corrupted in Adobe Bridge Cache files

Bridge, left me with corrupted files in the Cache of bridge that I can't remove, or scan with Macafee or watching with other programs I have.

When I access the folder that contains the corrupted files my PC just hangs.

I have the latest version of Photoshop and Lightroom running on Windows 7 (64-bit).

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks for your comments.

The files in the Cache are, I believe, created by bridge.  Them are thumbnails of the photos.

I was able to remove them by using the "shift-delete" function, so the problem is solved.

Another question is how this has happened, and I will raise it with Adobe.

  • Adobe Bridge icon is everywhere, what is with that?

I literally hundreds and hundreds of [Adobe Bridge icon], with the following text: Adobe Bridge Cache .bc or .bct...

These are everywhere imaginable, open a folder and see them. They are in the most unlikely places that have no relation to photoshop at all. Icons are usually paired with the .bc and one with the .bct

I always screw up their, it does not affect anything, nothing does not change, or happens by. But, it is very annoying, there may be long strings of them especially in the folders of photos. They can & appear no part/everywhere, but usually only in pairs, in or outside the subfolders but finally in a folder. Not sure, but come to think of it, they may appear on the desktop periodically. Also, when I trash them they always seem to reappear more later... maybe not all but most-

Is there a way to stop this?

    I'm under Ps CS2

    * XLR8 MAChSpeed G4 7457 CPU + 512 Cache *.

This has nothing to do with Photoshop. These files are bridge cache files. In CS2, there is an option to use a Central or distributed cache. Looks like you have the selected Distributed option.

    [From: http://www.adobepress.com/articles/article.asp?p=483796]

By default, Adobe Bridge stores its cache in a central location. To make the more robust cache, you can choose the option to use Distributed Cache files when Possible in the bridge's Advanced Preferences dialog box. When this option is selected, bridge stores the cache for each file in this folder. This makes the cache more robust and eliminates the need to export the cache before burning a CD or DVD. However, this creates a pair of cache files in each folder. They are normally hidden, but you can view if you choose the command view > show hidden files. There are other caching options in the submenu of the Tools menu Cache and in the Advanced preferences in bridge.

  • Adobe Bridge CC, cache problems

"Bridge has encountered a problem and cannot read the cache. Please try to purge central cache in the cache preferences to correct the situation. »

This came for the first time about 3 weeks ago. For the first time I opened it with the message, I could click on "ok" and continue working. The last 2 weeks, it won't pull up photos or anything, so I watched the central cache thing.

I'm going to 'Edit' - 'preferences' - 'hide', but when I try to "purge cache" in the lower part, it freezes. The buttons all go gray and I cannot do anything. The rest of the computer and other programs Adobe is fine. I can't even cut the program, even before you go to the preferences.

After half an hour or so of this thing being frozen, I restart the computer, but nothing changes.

I did it about 5 times, tried to uninstall and reinstall the bridge... Nothing moves!

Please help; I really need this to work.

  • Adobe Bridge CC does not open

I have a Mac 10.9.5, and for some reason, my Adobe Bridge CC does not open on my computer. I uninstalled and reinstalled using the creative cloud and still nothing. When I click the icon on the launchpad he jumps up and down (like the apps on a mac), then disappears as I had not yet clicked on it in the first place. Before that, maybe a few weeks back, bridge had asked if I would like to purge the cache, so I didn't. He then worked as it should be for about a week, and then it just won't open. I'm not all his studies at the technical level and don't know what to do about this. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

    Hey Keira,

We published a new version of Adobe Bridge (CC 2015) on July 19, 2016. This update is available via the Adobe Creative Cloud application.

We addressed some crash bridge issues experienced on the launch of the application. Please try the new version and are looking for the crash problems you encountered.

If you are not able to locate the bridge (CC 2015) on the creative cloud application, you must update the creative cloud application.

    Kind regards

Bridge keeps hiding on your computer and it can be of large size according to the number of photos you process.

    You can cache Purge bridge

Select cache Purge under preferences > Cache

    Hi jillf,

Please reset the preferences of Bridge back to the default values. Reference: troubleshooting errors, freezes | Adobe Bridge | Windows, Mac OS

  • Adobe Bridge to nowhere

Suddenly missing Adobe MAX: Adobe Bridge. What it will be? Update or terminate?

I really want to know what will happen to Adobe Bridge, probably the worst product Adobe has ever produced. Unfortunately, there is nothing comparable if not elsewhere, and so I have to use it constantly.

I learned to put up with its slow ++ performance, capacity reliable crash + 10 times a day and the painful building and re-buildings and re-re-construction of its cache.

For long I while I used Extensis Portfolio (the old Macromedia/Adobe 'Fetch'), but the stand-alone version of this app has been replaced by a new version of 'server' that, to $2K per license, is unjustifiable expensive.

Adobe Bridge, then, has NO competition and, at the same time, it works just ...

So, can someone offer a slight glimpse of hope for the future? (No, Lightroom, do not cut it because it deals only with raster images)

Adobe Bridge fixed or is it, in the end, a 'Bridge to nowhere '?

    Thank you.

I had CS4 to present CC bridge and did not have multiple accidents per day. I use it on PC and Mac. I think other factors involved. Outside of pref, there are scripts start and other things that you must consider. I wonder if it's just to do this on a computer or more.

I suspect something is what makes it a crazy Skunk, and discover what is happening can back you on track. You should also check with the bridge forum and talk with the forum members experienced that can help you much better. Here is the link.
