    I get the error everytime I try to publish the site I've created below. I tried disabling method (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/986423), I found a similar error, but it did not work.

    After a few attempts to run through the suggested methods and 45 mins with Adobe Support I still couldn't get this to work.

    Then I had a brainwave and thought that this could be a firewall issue on my side, and after doing some test with our technical specialist we have worked on the issue and is currently working.

  • Outlook express 6 on startup reports "an unknown error has occurred."

    Outlook Express 6 has started saying "an unknown error has occurred" (no other text message).  This only seems to happen when I run after she is not running for a while (an hour or two).  If I close and run it again immediately, the error does not occur.  I read in the forum, someone say the folders.dbx file is damaged or missing, and the advice to rename it to folders.old, causing Outlook Express to create a new folders.dbx file.  I hesitate to do that I have several years worth of emails in the system and do not know if I would lose them by forcing the creation of a new file.  What is the function of the file folders.dbx anyway?  How is it, you can rename just to old point and get a new one?  Is there something important in there?

    The only trigger I can think of for this error started to happen, is that I deleted a large number of emails sent just before he began to arrive.  I had sent a large number of photos to friends, and I thought I want to remove messages as they would use space disc unnecessarily masses.  Outlook Express and then put them in a "Deleted" folder, that I also went and deleted all the posts in there.

    Try first the compaction. When you delete messages, the space they took is not recovered until you do.

    Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    Folders.dbx is the "brain" of the system of dbx files.

    In Windows XP, the files of user OE (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    The path to the message will be very similar to this:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User of utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {long string of letters & numbers} \Microsoft\Outlook Express

    With OE closed, find the Folders.dbx file and delete it.  Another will be created automatically when you open OE.

    Note these possible side effects: (you will not lose messages)

    When you re - start OE, it will build a new index of all *.dbx files it can read and create a new Folders.dbx. However, understand that you will lose the mail directory structure and message rules will probably have to be edited.

    Or, you can create a new identity which is probably the best correction. File | Identities | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

    Note: Do not use the main word in the name of the new identity.

    My iMac started having weird errors on mail.  It started when I started to post and all my accounts were gone.  I tried to re - add, but it hung on the iCloud account.  Doing some research, I found suggestions to check my settings to iCloud.  When I checked preferences, only Photos has been verified, and when I tried to activate all the others, they were immediately disabled. I tried a disconnect... and he'd let me say that I had to remove my first iCloud email account. Go to preferences of Internet, my icloud account has been marked inactive, but wouldn't let me remove it.

    Then, I went to my iPad and verified devices on iCloud and removed my iMac, hoping that this would fix it.     I just found a solution to my problem and I would like to help someone else with this problem.  I had two accounts that I could check my e-mail, one @ a @ live.com and hotmail.com

    I deleted the account on Hotmail and now I only log on Windows Live, and it solved my problems.

    You may have a corrupt inbox.  Move all messages from the Inbox to another folder if you can.  Then move the inbox.dbx file in another directory in the message store directory (found via Tools |) Options | Advanced | Maintenance | Storage folder and files are hidden).  OE will create a new one so that should solve the problem.

    Alternatively, you can go to file | Identities and setup a new identity, which will give you a new message store) and then add your e-mail account.  If it works fine, you can use the file | Import | Messages to get the messages from the old identity.

    In the future see points 2 and 3 here: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2 and make sure that you back up your messages frequently, because cases often get corrupted.
