Adobe Captivate 8 create a toggle between image display/hide

Hello

Anyone know how I can create an action with a button that switches between shows or hides an image.

Thanks in advanced for the help.

Have several examples on my blog. But here go us:

  1. Create a v_visib user with a default value of 0 variable
  2. Create an advanced conditional action of the button like this:

IF v_visib equals 0

Display image

Toggle v_visib

ON THE OTHER

Hide image

Toggle v_visib

  • Remove the text/toggles between Images w/Tap

    I have a title page of an article composed of a photo with the text above it.  I want the user to be able to touch the screen to remove the text in order to allow them to view the photo itself.

    Is there a way to put the text on another layer, and then make sure that the layer disappear / reappear with one tap (like Mag +)?

    I tried a workaround using the sequence of images and slide shows of two images, one with and one without the text.  Using the slide show, I can allow the user to access and 'remove' the text showing them the underlying image without the text, but then they are blocked on this image and unable to return to the image with text/title.

    Anyone has any ideas, how to proceed?

    Thanks in advance!

    I want to change the State of object whenever the user touches the photo.  With a slide show if "Stop at the last frame" I the user cannot return to the original image.   If I don't check "Stop at the last frame" then it will automatically return to the first image - even if the user wants to stay put.

    Any ideas?

    It's simple.

    Create your 2 MSO steps using the State of the object Panel.

    When you select the DSO. The overlay creator Panel Slidshow controls.

    Leave it as what!

    Then, draw a rectangle on the ASM, select it and convert to button (object > Interactive > convert to button).

    In the buttons Panel, set the action of the button to go to the next State.

    Now use the preview at the bottom of the overlay button creator or panels Folio Builder to test the result.

    Each tap (click) will toggle the State currently displayed, that is, if I'm not wrong, what you asked.

    See in this sample file.

  • How create a toggle button that shows/hides a smartshape?

    Hello

    I work in 6 Captivate and want to create a button (may be a smartshape button, say smartshape A), on a click, shows an another smartshape B. When you click on this button (SmartShape), it hides SmartShape B - so basically what it activates / deactivates the visibility of SmartShape B. How would I do this in Captivate?

    Thank you

    Sean

    I guess that SmartshapeB is invisible at first.

    Create a variable, say CountAClick with 0.

    On the A Smartshape, assign an action conditional adv.:

    If CountAClick equals 0

    Assign the CountAClick with 1

    See the SmartshapeB

    On the other

    Hide SmartshapeB

    Assign the CountAClick with 0

  • Adobe Captivate 7 - How to create a custom without the function table of contents table of contents?

    Hello

    I want to create a table of contents in my E-Learning-project because the automatically generated TOC of Adobe Captivate 7 includes all the features I need to check for example chapters which are the groups in the film strip.

    I use master slides in my project.
    The table of contents, I need must be designed and programmed as follows:

    1 intro / title slides

    9 chapters

    The progress of the work - 3 status - all chapters should be moved by symbols in the table of contents

    Symbol 1: chapter has not yet begun (just an empty box)

    Side 2: chapter is work in progress (a square with a green triangle inside)
    Side 3: chapter is finished that means that all of the slides in this chapter are read (the square is filled with a green square)

    All the chapters and Points to the table of contents must be clickable (links) maybe with a mouse over effect (change in colour of mouse) and should start to the first slide of this chapter.

    The chapter which is open must be written in bold with one blue color, others who are not open to be written in the normal font with a black color

    I think it's a little complex, but solutionable.

    I think I need to create three symbols of the buttons form, advanced actions that tend to fade and fade out named symbols.

    Is there someone who can describe the process of creation? Where should I place all the functions, actions and so on? On the slide master?

    Thank you for the answers!

    The only thing I can say about it is that I build it in Flash, so it could be dynamic and reusable.

    If you take the time to build a PC inside it only works for one project. Certainly you would have a base to work from, but for a another edition project wouldn't be fun.

    If you need HTML5, I think it would be much more difficult to build a dynamic table of contents.

  • Adobe Captivate 7 - How can I create a Pop Up window that I can use as a print, warning or something else?

    Hello

    I've produced an e-Learning in Adobe Captivate 7, which consist of a vertical menu and a horizontal menu. The vertical menu on the left of the screen is the table of contents for e-Learning. It consists of all the themes of the small horizontal learning e - Learning.The is located on the upper side of the screen. This menu contains menu options such as 'legal' and 'warning '. They are textlinks / hypertext links. How can I join, it will open a pop-up window on the e-Learning after clicking on menu "imprint" or "warning? The pop-up windows should have the same design as the e-Learning for himself.

    Thank you very much for your answers!

    That would be my approach:

    • Create all objects in the pop-up window on the first slide, group them (Gr_Popup) and their time for the rest of the project, Place objects on verified top. Be sure to include the X button, which should be a button of form because a normal button cannot be programmed for the rest of the project. A form is also a text container, it may not be a problem.
    • Create a tip action "Mount" that you can run on enter for each slide to hide Gr_Popup, tip even action can be used for the X button. You could create an action as well, with one group setting. Depending on the setting of the slide, perhaps, it may be necessary to add the Continue statement for this action if used on enter. Don't need her for the action of the X key.
    • Use another button of form for action "to be clicked to display the context menu. For this one, you have the choice:
      • on the master slide (make sure you have model objects of slides on top for daughter master slides), given that you don't need to control (show/hide) button by any action
      • or also on the first slide and timed for the rest of the project
    • Create another advanced (or shared action) with the statement "Gr_Popup Show".

  • "Project created by Adobe® Captivate® 5 ' flickering popup

    Hello!

    I have an old Flash file in which there is a clip where I call different Captivate files. The Flash file has been exported in a version of Flash Player 6. I tried to export a version of Flash Player 10, but it does not solve my files to captivate the problem, which were really old too, have recently been replaced by a version of Captivate 5 (and exported into Flash Player 10).

    When I open the HTML related to the Flash file, the entire animation of the Captivate flickers and there is a pop up box (shining too) in which it is written "project created bhy Adobe Captivate 5.

    I tried to re - export my HTML file too. I changed the domain to 'always' instead of "sameDomain" in arguments...

    I also tried google, but found nothing relevant.

    Thank you very much for your help!

    Can you let us know what was the version of Captivate in which it was originally created and published for Flash v6.

    Before Captivate 5, content was based on the Action Script v2 and Cp5 from it is AS3 only. Could be a possibility that the objects in your slides are not compatible.

    Yet you can try-

    Clicking on file - publish settings - size SWF and the quality and change to custom - Unchcek the advanced compression option.

    Make file - publish - use Flash Player 9 to publish this time - check the option Force republish all slides and check with different browsers if you are able to see.

    From the publication folder - launch HTM and SWF separately and check if either works?

    What is the content of your project? Do you have quizzes or animations or widgets any?

  • "Jump" to a specific slide in adobe captivate with edge animate.

    I want to "jump" to a specific slide in adobe captivate using interactions created in a file hosted from edge. Is someone able to help me with the javascript code needed to do this?

    So I don't know what was going on in April which did not possible but now 9 Captivate at least you can below to communicate a slide jump in Cape Town from the edge.

    I have an Edge file with a unique symbol to this topic called edgeButton which is just a simple rectangle with text on the subject. On the click to edgeButton event, I added the following script:

    window.parent.postMessage ('2', ' * ');

    Where the '2' is the second slide in a Captivate project. Here's a visual aid on board for the game to the top:

    On the side of the course of things, I set up a simple empty project with two slides on it and have disabled the PlayBar. On the first slide, I imported the OAM Edge file from above and on the second slide are just a simple text caption so that you know you have arrived at this slide after clicking on the "Click me" button in the animation of embedded edge. Here is a visual aid for the CAP put in place:

    Notice that there is a progress of the Actions run on the onEnter of the master slide. This is what looks like this Action:

    First, we add a Pause action so that the project does not automatically. Then we add a Javascript action to perform on the window 'active'. The script in the window Javascript crap is:

    window.addEventListener ("message", slideJump);

    function slideJump (event) {}

    Console.log (Event.Data);

    window.cpAPIInterface.gotoSlide (event.data);

    }

    If you use IE, change the first line of window.attachEvent ("onmessage", slideJump);

    What we have done here is connect Edge (that Cap incorporates in an iframe) with Cap using the postMessage function that allows document windows communicate with each other. Since the Edge object is inside the DOM of the CAP, the script of edge must publish its message to its parent window, which is the Cap document window. Add the listener for the event message to Cap on its current context of window and after receiving the message that we call the function slideJump and suss out the string that was sent to the wire using event.data, which in this case will be "2."

    We record the value in the console

    Console.log (Event.Data);

    just for sanity check our channel, then pass the string to the common JS Cape API interface

    window.cpAPIInterface.gotoSlide (event.data);

    the Cap project going to slide #2.

    If you're curious, here's a Stack Overflow write to postMessage . Communication between edge and Cap can work in two ways via postMessage, btw. Here is an example where we do something similar, except that we control an animation of edge of assets to Captivate with postMessage.

    I know that this response is a few months late to the party, but if all goes well it helps or helps someone else who might be looking for a response to a similar problem.

  • Adobe Captivate file size

    I have a two part question. I work with Adobe Captivate for the first time, so I am of course a lot of rookie, errors, and now I'm stuck.

    I have a project that is 122 229 KB, and when publishing to LMS, is 63 900 KB. I made sure all the graphics are as small as possible, but it still takes a long time to load when you access through the LMS. My first question is, what is the size of ideal file for the publication of LMS? If necessary, I may have to divide my presentation in several modules so that they are more easily, but I'm curious to know if there is an easier way to address the issue before it split.

    My second part of the question: is there a way to tell Captivate to begin play the webinar when it loads? When I tested, it took about 2 minutes to load the file that in the world of technology online, it's an eternity. I hope there's a way to tell him to start playing the video during the rest of the presentation the loading in the background.

    Thank you in advance for your help!

    Kristen

    Hello Kristen,

    Welcome to the forums. For your last question: you can reduce the Preloader % in Preferences, project, start & end. Its default value is 100%, which means that the entire project is loaded before playing. Also: avoid having a heavy slide first, no audio action, not complicated, etc..

    There is no ideal real file size, because it depends on many factors. Keep the resolution as low as possible, I mean the size in pixels. You talk about graphics: what type of graphics do you use. If you're on the CP9, he agrees to SVG which, in most cases, have smaller file than bitmap images. But it's not only the graphics that define the size of the file: as the number of slides, images, audio and video clips.

    Hello

    I recently installed Adobe® Captivate® 5, but so far failed to use it.

    Furthermore, if I jump directly to create new... Software Simulation, the application seems to save for a few seconds before inexplicably crashing.

    Here's my spec of machine:

    OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

    Processor: Intel Core i5 at 2.7 GHz

    Memory: 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

    Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6770 M 512 MB

    680 + GB of available hard disk space

    I tried to uninstall / reinstall, but still the same problems.

    Anyone have any suggestions for a solution, please?

    Thank you very much!

    Ben

    Captivate 5 is too old for this version of the OS waaaayyyyy.

    My suggestion is that you update the latest version of Captivate instead and save yourself a lot of anguish trying to Cp5 to work on an operating system for which it was never designed to be compatible.

  • Examiner of Adobe Captivate 9 - PC admin rights required

    When we share with SME Captivate project to conduct a review, they must choose the examiner in ADMINISTRATOR mode.  Our security services and HE do not allow all users to have administrative rights to their PC.  Why did they need to have admin rights and are there other alternatives?

    Your IT Department may have extremely high restrictions. In my previous workplace, the it Department had moderated in place restrictions. Users could install optional and applications web browsers as examiner would work as well. If you have tried to install an application like Photoshop or Dreamweaver, the system could stop him.  In other organizations, where I worked, without installation of application would work. Talk to your IT Department and see if they can make Adobe Reviewer is part of the standard image that is installed with all office workers.

    Or view a mini tableview with scroll bars to view all the content.

    No table reactive in Captivate. You will need to change the layout in the Mobile display breakpoint. Scrolling is possible when you have a slide that is greater than the default height of the mobile breakpoint.
