Adobe CS2 on Windows 64-bit

Hi people,

Please can someone help us, having just called Adobe Tech support they informed us that they shelter more CS2.  We are trying to install CS2 on Windows XP 64 Bit, but during the installation, the Setup program does not recognize the characters in the path c:\Program Files (x 86).

We have tried loading in the path "C: Program Files" it loads but once loaded the program does not run.

Sorry to put such a question blade upwards, but we are struggling and have work to do.

Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can give.

I read that there is a certain way to install CS2 (or any 32-bit version of PS) on Windows 7 64 bit with success with a code in the folder "C:\progra~2\adobe" or... C:\Program~2\adobe...or the same code but with the backslashes in the opposite direction, as /.

Thank you very much, I'm desperate!

The reason for the use of progra ~ 2 on a 64-bit system when installing a 32-bit application is the 8 character limit imposed by Windows. PROGRA ~ 2 totals up to 8 characters, program ~ 2 is 9

    You have 2 options:

    1. in the installation, change your path to C:\progra~2\... and install it. It should work.

2 copy Setup on your local drive. The right click on Setup.exe, properties > Compatibility tab > run in compatibility mode. The choice of XP SP2. Click OK. Run Setup.exe

    Either we have to work.

Hi, I have a problem in the installation, how to install acrobat 8.1 pro in 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise is existing in Windows XP.  I just want to transfer the license Adobe pro 8 Windows 7 64 bit. What is the procedure?

You need to install 8 AA on the new OS with your current S/N (the license allows 2 installs). After the installation, do all the updates if you expect any chance of 8 AA to run on the system. If the updates will be installed not in the menu help, then go to ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/ and install updates in the order. People seem to have been successful with 32 - bit systems and some have reported success with a 64 bit system. After installation, print something to the Adobe PDF printer to make sure it works. If this works, you should be in good shape as printing treat the bottleneck. There is a solution, but you shouldn't have it.

If all works well, then go back to the old machine and disable this installing and uninstalling. Don't forget that your configuration is not supported by Adobe. It seems with every new version of Windows, MS seeks to make the user to upgrade the other hardware and software for compatibility. There may be legitimate reasons for this action, but the game just seems to be Ms.

You can try to download the 64-bit version.  You can download the demo version of the software through the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.

Don't forget to follow the steps described in the Note: very important Instructions in the section on the pages of this site download and have cookies turned on in your browser, otherwise the download will not work correctly.

  • Install Photoshop CS2 on Windows 7 with upgrade from Photoshop 6.0

Does anyone know how to install Photoshop CS2 on Windows 7 when it came to upgrade Photoshop 6.0? I have to move it to a new computer, since the old one crashed.

Your luck in a bit, given that adobe has taken offline for photoshop cs2 activation servers.

(you would not be able to activate the version cs2 upgrade)

So all you need to do is download no activation of photoshop cs2 and use the serial number on the download page.

  • Photoshop CS2 on Windows 7, cannot start after installation

Hi everyone, I really hope someone can help me with this!

OK, I've always used Imageready CS2 to open avi files to edit and then save as animated GIF without affecting quality (what part of PS CS2 I paid for) on my old laptop with Windows XP in the past.

So I upgrade to PS CS5 (paid) I have installed successfully on my new laptop with Windows 7, but until now, I am dismayed to find that I can't open avi in PS CS5 files just because I have 64 bit, not 32 bits even though I couldn't find the 32-bit program anywhere (apparently I found the 32 bit in searching in the Start button (, but it opens always as 64-bit?).

So I thought I would try to install PS CS2 in Windows 7 using my CD and found that the activation part no longer works which led me to find that I could download a copy of PS CS2 without the bit of activation (yes I did uninstall it before installing PS CS2 without activation) everything was fine BUT... until I tried to start my laptop next time It wouldn't boot correctly at all, only to her for this boot Animation screen then black with the cursor in the middle or, rarely, in the log on screen is not working but that's all, so I had to do a system restore to get it in working order less the CS2 PS manage

I thought it was the fault of the other things I've downloaded at same time as xvid codec decompressor (so I could use VeeDub64) so I downloaded the codeces from different sources and rebooted to see if it boots ok (it did) then I tried to install PS CS2 again but same thing happened during the reboot - fail to start and I had to do some system restores (as some points did not ) until I'm hardly it is in working order once again...

I see that some people have PS CS2 which works perfectly on Windows 7 with 64 bit because they have changed the path of the file during the installation of the program? Or I must have the 32-bit program somewhere that maybe I don't have it because my PS CS5 does not extend? Or the other of these works would be? To be honest, I'm quite reluctant to try as I can kill my laptop this time and it is only about 2 years!

    Any help would be appreciated!

That's the good news about the CS2. I don't know what was the hiccups.

If you still want CS5 32-bit, you can try an uninstall/clean/reinstall. If you are asked a CS2 (qualification s/n) I guess that your old serial number CS2 would do.

If this isn't the case, you will need to call Adobe and use the code challenge system to install CS5.

First address cleaning tool: use the CC cleaning tool to solve the installation problems | CC, CS3 - CS6

Challenge code: apparently, Adobe has a challenge code system.  So, if you have the old serial number of the upgrade and you call customer service.  The customer support has a challenge code procedure where they give you a code that overrides the problem.

Hmm... can not do it on a weekend when closing the customer.

  • CS2 running Windows 8?

I have CS2 installation disc. I used this on my new windows 64-bit 8 PC. It's when the problem started, it would not be installed. Online chat called & they told me, "his old man and is no longer supported. I accepted that. Then, they gave me a link to download CS2 I did. I also had a new activation code. Now when I try to install, I get this error at the window of the installation location.

It selects for me this "C:\Program Files (x 86) \adobe" as location

    Click "next".

    This error comes then upward

The path you selected for installing contains unsupported characters. Please select a different folder for installation.

What should I do? Customer support won't help at all - I thought that this should be where CS2 should be as it is a 32-bit on a 64-bit computer.

If someone can help? Please - I'm stuck can't afford to move to the current version and CS2 does everything that I need.

    Thank you

    Hi [email protected],

CS2 is not compatible with Windows 8.

Please consider buying the latest version of the CS6 software / Creative Cloud subscription.

  • Satellite new C660-1F1 windows 64-bit - cannot use graphics editing software

Hi guys... any help appreciated... This is the message that I sent with Toshiba, but they take their time to get back to me:

Hello... I bought my phone from Argos a month ago, and it has a warranty of 2 years. I have a big problem - 2 graphics main editing programs I use do not work. Corel Paintshop Photo Pro x 3 and Adobe CS5 can also be installed and opened, but as soon as I try to save a picture or change a picture both of the programs crash and I must close by using end task in Task Manager.

It happened when I installed the full versions of both programs that I bought and it also occurs when you download the trial versions of the Corel and Adobe download sites. I've been on the help so many forums for both adobe and corel and the most useful pointer came from one of the creators of Adobe - a Chris Cox.

Very logically, it said as it happened to both of these packages that it was probably a problem with the edition of 2 graphic graphics card drivers or the real hardware graphics card. I bought a 64-bit operating system to manage precisely these 2 programs which can be exhausting on the system. I know that I have only 2 GB of RAM at the moment, but it has happened with other people... who have same 8 GB and 16 GB of RAM which is what I'll have in the next few weeks. However, not if I can't fix this problem. Please can you help/advise the best solution. This seems to be a problem only with 64-bit systems. Adobe and Corel are 64-bit capable.

There is also a message that appears when I open Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended... which is as follows:

... "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements, visit the manufacturers of video card for the latest version of the software."

I then click this message below... .use of the program, change something, try to save and it crashes. I have gone through all the troubleshooting directions and ran countless diagnosis but it seems to be a common denominator between 2 different programs and it's my laptop Toshiba... I even tried to install another great photo software of edition to test and I got the same result - a crash of the application.

Help, please! Thanking you in advance.

    Kind regards
    John

    Hello John

You already have some response from Toshiba?
What about my friend? In my opinion the best advice you can get from Corel and Adobe. They have the best experience with own products and have probably tested on different hardware platforms.

Computer laptop manufacturers offer models of different laptops with different hardware configurations. Some of them are cheap and available material to the average. The performance is not the best but good enough for every day such as internet activities, office, shipping and so on.
On the other hand, there are laptops fitted with excellent and powerful equipment. Very often, these notebooks cost twice as low-priced budget.

Please don t get me wrong, but your portable C is not one that is suitable for use with this powerful software.
I really put t know that Toshiba can do about it. I guess that you need another graphics driver but support for graphics drivers for laptops is quite limited and I n t think you can do much about it.

What you can try is to download and install the driver from the manufacturer of the graphics card, but you must do it at your own risk.

Sorry friend, but I put t have any other advice for you. I think you ve bought bad laptop for such complex graphical operations. 2 GB OF RAM? I put t know.

    Good luck.

Unless you use the 64-bit browser, you will not need 64-bit plugins.  Just because Windows is 64-bit does not mean that everything has been installed it is.

Uninstall all Plugins Internet (RealPlayer, QuickTime, Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Shockwave Player, Adobe Air, Microsoft Silverlight, K-lite codec pack, etc.) of your computer.

    Turn it back on.

Reset Internet Explorer default.  If used, reset the default values for Firefox.
[Note: If you don't have any other browsers installed at that time, taste.]  Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera are decent.

    Turn it back on.

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner. Delete everything is found.

    Turn it back on.

Install Adobe Flash Player (in Internet Explorer and Firefox separately) and Microsoft Silverlight.  Remember to UNCHECK all the boxes to install other software with them.

    Turn it back on.

Try whatever you were doing before.  Come back and let everyone know how things went.

This error happens quite randomly and usually after having used the program after several minutes.

When I save or use any of, the toolbar (floating) window disappears and then re - appears when I click on a little autour. When I use for example the option of fluidity, the normal program toolbar is always visible and overflow of the flow window. I use Windows 7 and have not changed anything. Someone knows the problem or how I can fix this?

    Hi Anshie,

I had the same problem with a job perfectly well CS2 on Windows 7 64 bit. The problem started about 6 days ago. I ended up uninstalling all updates from Microsoft since 04 14, 2016 and it looks like I've isolated the problem to KB3145739 (Security Bulletin Microsoft MS16-039, security update for the Windows graphical component). I reinstalled all the other updates and have not seen the problem more. I will update this post if the problem shows once again.
