• Can I import a legacy file in indesign to use adobe dps for ipad?

  I need to create a header animation for a magazine for ipad article, which makes the header appear as if it is written on the screen when the player lands on this page.

  I saw a tutorial on how to create a signature animated using After Effects, but cannot find any mention online if the completed file would be compatible with Adobe DPS, or even if I'll be able to import the file in InDesign, when I'm done.

  I could create this using Photoshop and call it as a sequence of images, but would like to find an easier, less tedious and more fluid way that would hopefully also smaller file size.

  Hi, you cannot import files AE in DPS.

  You can make a video and import it (better .mp4) or return as sequence of images (I prefer to use).

  The first way is more fluid, but the final file will be too big.

  The second way is fluid as a video and the file will be very low.

  I was able to expand the custom Viewer backbone than Derek articles read previously posted on wisely.

  The code works perfectly on IPads later, an Air of the IPad for example, but when you test on an iPad 2 - The Adobe DPS API does not return the folios.

  I placed the same application development on two IPads and side by side one works and returns the correct number of folios and the other returns zero.

  Everyone knows, I am currently working on what could be the problem?

  The only thing I can think is that calls to the Adobe DPS API sending on the IPad version / series to denote its version can return / do not return folios, on this basis that DPS folio support has been dropped for older ipads?

  I'm clutching at straws, I hope someone can help.

  What size are your folios? If you published folios of 2048 x 1536, they will appear on devices iPad 2. It is recommended to publish all folios in 1024 x 768.

  Hi all

  With teething problems in my Adobe DPS on Lynda.Com training

  I'm learning to use Folio Builder and the establishment of the folio in the generator section of folio - where I am giving it a name and given it Horizontal / landscape coordinated as a starting document.

  Q: all this and never see the folio to work on? How can I see what I would do in a normal mode of the Indesign document - it is just sitting in the Folio Builder menu box and can not access?

  What I do wrong here please.

  When you do a folio in Panel Builder Folio is just an empty shell to contain items from the folio. You need create items to put in your folio, using an InDesign document, you create by file > new Document.

  We have a few magazines of our business under development using Adobe Indesign folios and then pushed to Adobe DPS who manages to turn these editions of magazines and pushes the mobile variant stores i.e. iOS App store and Android play store.

  We currently have a requirement to insert script tags in these applications mobile magazines in order to better understand the behavior of our readers of the magazine.

  We opted with a public management service provider company and we use these script tags in our applications.

  I wonder if you can help me on how to insert these script tags inside each page in our magazine?

  There is also another way that involves use of the specially designed for iOS and Android SDK and reference them in our mobile applications.  These SDK we were provided by the management of the public but amazing company if can be used in our environment of DPS?

  Well, you can do some trick to set the context for the content that is currently under discussion and then the reports view to your third party analytical engine. Either use my function Contnet framework one of my blog posts, or use the new (R30 +) Article Metadata API to discern your context of reading. Once you know the context of your reader, you can then call any external system in an invisible Web Overlay that fires when loading or after a certain period of time. It makes sense to put this overlay on the master page, so it automatically appears on each page of your folio.

  Is it effective? It depends on if you build in the event offline storage. If you haven't, you're stuck with a line single solution that is not different from what you are today reporting online.

• Transfer of licenses from Adobe DPS?

  I have no idea about the DPS Adobe license... but to make a long story short.

  Our service provider to publish apps iPad (Booth) will end cooperation with our company.

  They also told us, all current eMags inside App Store and newsstand, which have been published by them, will be deleted, if anyone adopt their DPS from Adobe (Adobe DPS Professional) license before expiry.

  So my Question is : is it true - after the end of their license, the eMags will be all offline?... And is it possible to transfer all eMags service provider to another DPS Adobe account?  What are the options? So what can we do to let the current eMags on the Store?

• Animation of the Adobe & DPS application issues

  Recently, I downloaded the Adobe & DPS application on the app store.  It is mainly a showcase and an informative publication about how the Magazine industry has embraced and incorporated DPS in their creative process.

  I like the effect of the background of the image sharing two screens, so when the user goes to the next page, the central image continuously and moves left.  I managed to reproduce this effect.  My question is however on the animation.

  In the interest of those who have the ipad app, I refer to Page 19 of the production, in front, page directed 18 as Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, for those who do not have the advantage, mainly the central image of 'focus' scrolls to the left like the user enters the page.  There is a delay and then 3 bars of color, red, yellow and blue fly from the background of the central image to the right of the screen.  Text is missing in a downward movement.  Another shot at the next page maintains the continuity of the design of the arrows and melted bars in addition to text after a slight delay.

  I am interested in the technical aspects of this effect.

  In the workflow of InDesign, I'm uncomfortable with the scrolling of the image back picture, but what I can't understand is the following...

  1) are the screen filled in Adobe After effects or Adobe Photoshop animation then exported in the form of sequences of images or videos to load page?  No doubt there is an image of the poster, a delay that triggers the auto start animation then ending on an image rendered ending sequence.

  2) are compliant screens in InDesign, but the images of movement occurs in Adobe Edge to keep the size of the small file (transparent overlays like HTML5).  If so how do write you movie elements to match the background of the image?  Is superimposed on the bottom or each section independently positioned 2048 step?

  I can't post a screenshot, as I don't want to violate copyright, my initial view is that option 1 is easier since the design is contained in this application, but larger files. Option 2 is interesting, smaller file size, lighter app, but I'm not clear integration between ID and edge as the practice of positioning and visualization, because both apps do not visually bind each other.

  I would be grateful on the reflections on the best approaches for this purpose.

• Insert references VI in an empty array of objects

  Hi all

  I shopped, but I can't seem to find the answer to this particular question.

  Platform: TestStand 4.2.0 LabVEW 8.6.1.  Customer resists upgrade.

  I am trying to build a list of VI references to a variable of TestStand.  TS is an empty array of references to object called Step.VI_References.

  BT, I take the context of the sequence (from "ThisContext") and read it as an object of property.  I then take this reference and use it with search GetPropertyObject Step.VI_References.  I have a table of references VI (of type TS. PropertyObject) that I am an iteration more to extract each reference.  It is then to be inserted by using SetPropertyObjectByOffset.  See the attached picture for the relevant bit of code.

  My problem is I'm getting an error-17300 - essentially a "NULL pointer unexpected shipping reference" SetPropertyObjectByOffset call - even with just a reference to be inserted.

  It doesn't seem to be a mistake to place else, but whenever I try to access VI_References in table form (using any table API), it gives the same error.

  What obvious (or subtle) thing I'm missing?

  If these are references, you must use SetValInterfaceByOffset instead of SetPropertyObjectByOffset.

  In this case, the tunnel of indexation in the outer loop takes an empty 1-d array and adds it as a line to the 2D table. Because the 2D tables can not be serrated, it fills the remaining elements of the line (all) with the default value. Maybe we could say that an empty array should mean 'add all', but this behavior goes back very far and I don't know what effect this would have. As mentioned, it is easy enough to do what you want with a conditional append in the outer loop.

  Check the size of the table. You will find that it is 3,0,0. In other words, you have 3 pages, each with an empty 2D array, which is exactly what builds your code.

  I try to avoid dealing with > 2D paintings and which deals with the cases where they can be empty, so I don't remember the details of why this happens, but IIRC, it follows the rules of the system.

  I use reading of XML File.vi and this VI returns an empty string on my XML file, but on another XML file, it seems to work correctly.

  I open my file XML in Internet Explorer 7.0 and it apears as aspected.

  What could be the problem?

• Why browse cards, banners and pages don't are not scaling in android - Adobe DPS 2015?

  We are experiencing some problems with an Android app, built from Adobe DPS 2015 project.  The application displays beautifully on the iPad, but not so much on android. Note that the droid app is tested via a custom app .apk file

  1. the banner at the top of the page, we have created is not updated with scaling on android. See photos of comparison for iPad vs. Android. What can be done to remedy this?

  

  2. the articles are scaling very well in android, but the navigation pages and maps are not welcoming to the android the bottom navigation bar. They pared down type and you cannot scroll through a more far to see.  Apart from the re-design of cards to move any upward, is it possible to fix?  See photos of comparison for iPad vs. Android. .

  

  What I've noticed, it's only on iOS, cards for 'full picture' default, even if you have not explicitly chosen "full image", but on Android, they don't use 'full picture' until actually go you and select the map editor.

  

  Until I click on the enlarged Image, everything on Android looks like your screenshot.  Try to check "Full Image" is actually selected.  I'll bet that $0.01 it is not set to one.

• Link from an external Source that opens my Adobe DPS

  Is - it somehow possible?

  In detail what I have to do:

  Someone else made a soft (non - Adobe DPS) which is supposed to have a link to my App. If this link is typed, the device is supposed to open my Adobe-DPS application.

  I found this: link to the URL customized by using App DPS scheme but I think that it is an outdated Version. Is there something like that for Adobe-DPS 2015?

  I want to build an application multi-folio as my final thesis for my client project.

  My client is a small monthly editors that run on a programme of charity for the vegan community.

  But I found that we cannot create applications without the license DPSuite and the price that people talk is a little high.

  And I can't use another way to download with adobe DPSuite folio (this one I don't know)

  Please correct me if I'm wrong with what I've got, because I was confused with the Adobe DPS publishing system.

  1. If we need a DPSuite license to build an app?

  2. is there another way to download .folio instead of using adobe DPSuite?

  3. is there a program of tests or student subscribe who can help me to build an app for my folio?

  4. is there a difference between DPSuite and DPSolution? I use DPSuite because I use Indesign cc 2014

  1. Yes. If you want to build a custom multi-folio DPS application you need a DPS license.

  2. What do you mean upload? You can view folios in our Adobe Content Viewer, but need a license to create a custom application.
