So far I have group assets (flowers), I make a clipping mask, but when I use the symbol sprayer tool it sprays all over the place, not inside the object. What Miss me? Pro Tips?   The spray must happen on a layer just below the clipping mask.

  For a beginner: here's an easy way:

  1. Select the object, and set the mode to draw inside the bottom of the toolbar.
  2. Deselect and spray from a distance.
  3. When you're done, don't forget to return to normal to draw.

  It seems to me that Illustrator uses the PostScript fontname.

  But if I change the fontname in the SVG file to include spaces, it renders fine in FireFox and other browsers that I have installed on my Mac (Safari and Chrome).

  I don't know what is happening with mobile browsers or other platforms, but maybe it's time for a feature request.

  The default options for the representation of styles in SVG is changed. If you want the styles to be defined as attributes, you should choose 'properties CSS"to"presentation attributes. • Equivalent of ideas Adobe Illustrator opacity slider

  Hello!

  I use Adobe ideas to create images and then compile them in Adobe Illustrator.

  In Adobe ideas I set the opacity of some of my very low layers. What is the equivalent of the slide of ideas in Illustrator?

  Please do not answer unless you have a specific experience of solving this problem. I say this because I searched for help to find out how to change the opacity of a layer in Adobe Illustrator, but even the "ghost" layers of ideas (where the cursor is set to 0-20%) seem to be defined as 100% opacity in Illustrator!

  I tried already, helps to Illustrator | Transparency and blend modes already, but Illustrator says my 'ghost' layer is at 100% opacity, which is not what shows the cursor in ideas!

  Adobe ideas is now Adobe Illustrator draw (aka Adobe Draw) and I will answer based on the last version of Adobe draw.

  In the draw, you can set each line that you draw by using the transparency slider in the toolbar and you can set each layer by using the transparency slider in the layers panel.

  In Illustrator, as Monika writes, you can set the transparency to several different object levels.

  When you send your file Draw from the iPad to Illustrator, transparency is maintained at the level you set. So, if you set the transparency of a layer, open the Illustrator layer, target the layer panel (click the circle so that the layer on the right side of the layers panel), open the appearance Panel and you will see the % for the layer transparency.  If you traced lines with transparency, select these lines (you will see that they are actually filled with paths or transparent trace), and each of these objects will have the transparency that you initially drew with.

  If this does not for you, please post a few screenshots to show what you see.

• Cannot install Adobe Illustrator on my Toshiba Vista laptop

  Last week, I bought a new laptop from Toshiba with Windows Vista installed on it. I'm trying to install Adobe Illustrator CS on it, which has installed without problem on my last computer that has windows XP.

  I installed the program but when I open it, it gives me the following message: "you are not allowed to continue running because your account does not have appropriate privileges. Please log in using an account with administrator privileges and try again. The only option I have then is to click ok, which closes the program.

  The computer has only a user account who is the administrator, which is what I use, but it still says I have to log in with an administrator account.
  This means that I can't use Adobe Illustrator on it now which is one of the programs that I need to use the bridge. The copy of the program worked fine with Windows XP on my other computer.

  I called Microsoft and they said that because Vista came installed on the Toshiba laptop so it comes to Toshiba s and not to them, like Toshiba would have configured vista properly before putting it on the laptop.

  Please can anyone help at all. I love my new laptop, but this issue is driving me crazy because I can't do any work of Illustrator here and my other computer is really very slow.

  In my opinion, you must contact Adobe support. Microsoft is not responsible for the use of additional software and Toshiba don't make changes to the OS just add own designed drivers, tools and utilities.

  Adobe must have enough experience with own products. I also think that the Adobe brand tests with own software for use on different operating systems.

• How will I know if Adobe Illustrator version 9 is supported by Windows Vista Ultimate?

  I installed Adobe Illustrator version 9.0 on my Vista machine.  It works without problem, but is not visible in the folder program files.  It can be seen in the Add/Remove Programs feature.  I know the list of hardware compatibility... is there a software?  Is there a way to tell if the program files exist in a folder name that is less obvious.  Advice requested

  Yes, there is a list of software compatibility in Vista Compatibility Center at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-vista/default.aspx.  I checked Adobe Illustrator 9.0 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-vista/Details.aspx?type=Software&p=Adobe%20Illustrator&v=Adobe&uid=9&pf=0&pi=6&s=Adobe%20Illustrator%209.0&os=32-bit and it does not seem as if it is compatible - it seems as if you need to upgrade.  I'm a little surprised that it works for you - I bet there are a few features that you have not used that do not work properly (and the missing icon in all programs may be a symptom of the problems - maybe it intentionally have not installed there because of problems with compatabaility).  It may also cause you other problems on the road that may not seem like they are related at all - I don't know why it was considered incompatible.  I saw some incompatible software products crash the system to the point that a re-installation was necessary (some Sonic and Roxio products).

  Program files can be included in another folder (such as Adobe Illustrator or almost anything) - but probably something related at least enough that you would recognize.  There is no hidden files in all programs, and they would not be anywhere else.  You can add a link to the program by going to the executable file and creating a shortcut, then cut and paste the shortcut in the list of all programs.  However, I would be careful about using this program, given its situation in the Vista Compatibility Center - you must upgrade to a version that is compatible (and I would take the time to ensure that it was compatible with Windows7 at the same time (in case you decide to upgrade to one in the future).  http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Default.aspx.

  I am a graphic designer and photographer. I have Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, Version 6 (Build 6002: Service Pack 2). I use Adobe Illustrator CS4 and Photoshop CS4 to edit my photos. Thumbnails look good, but when you open a file, the picture is really dark. I also have this problem with the windows image viewer. I downloaded FastStone Image viewer so I can see what I'm doing. I asked for direct aid, but they were of no use. They tried to download a different driver, without success. I'm the only one out there with this problem? Can someone tell me what is the problem?   My personal opinion on the subject as I use Photoshop a lot myself, to be able to use Photoshop or any other software design to its full potential, you will need a separate video card and not using the video card to integrate it.  Embed the video card is usually simple and have the basic features, options to work but not many advance options that use Photoshop and other graphic design software.
  With this in mind and consider how not expensive video card today, you can easily find the one that, around $ 50 and can do the job better than your integrated video card.  Not to mention it will release memory for your system to be tied up with integrated video cards.

• Defective feedback from Adobe Illustrator 1525nw Laserjet

  We currently have a 1525nw connected to a SBS of Win2003 Server and workstations with Windows XP 32 bit and Win7 64-bit. This printer is great apart from that we use the most for.

  We mainly work with Adobe Illustrator CS4. This printer is unable to print correctly from I (Adobe Illustrator). It sends fine print jobs, but it reacts to the vector graphics very oddly. If there is no solid form using all the space in our Council of art in artificial intelligence, the printer will compress the closest vector shapes to each other and feel the top of the page.   Another problem is that it is very strange for some of the forms and colors.   The order/way is to update the operating system, and then reinstall the applications. Which was how you did it?

  If this isn't the case, it may be best to reinstall using the way complete three steps (the otherwise strange things may persist):
