  I'm not an apple person.  I read on a few different forums that apple has changed what is called 'writing' in a recent update to apple.  You may need to find an Apple expert to show you how to make sure you are allowed to write to files or locations on your computer.

  The D800 has been supported since Lightroom 4.1.

  You use an earlier version of the Nikon software to transfer files from camera to computer? Older versions are known to make Raw files unreadable by Adobe software.

  Try to download a version update of Nikon. Or use a different card for example reader method.

  Your camera would need ACR version 9 which is not supported by 12 elements.

  You can:

  -upgrade to 13 items, with updates of version 13.1.1

  - or use the free DNGconverter mentionned in the links at the bottom of this faq. You'll be able set of entire folders to convert your raw files to DNG PSE12 can read and modify.

  If you mean Photoshop CS6, select help > updates and download the latest Adobe Camera Raw, which is 8.8.

• Photoshop CC 2015 will not display the RAW files

  I installed Photoshop on my new computer and it will not display the RAW file when I go to change. Instead, it shows a rectangle cream colored with a dark blue background. If I click Open a picture, it will open it for further editing and I can see the image once again, but it will not display in the initial screen.   Click on Photoshop (Mac) or edit (Windows) > Preferences > Camera Raw

  Uncheck the box use Graphics Processor.

  This may seem backwards, but several times when the message says "cannot be read", it means that you don't have write permission in the destination folder where the RAW photos will be written.  You should check your permissions.

  I suggest upgrading to LR6 (later). The upgrade is about 70 dollars and worth it - just my 2 cents.

  You go to your operating system (Mac Finder) and change the permissions on the folder to READ & WRITE permission. Which folder? The folder specified in the import in Lightroom under Destination dialog box.

  You cannot correct the error "file not found" by importing. It's 100 percent the wrong thing to do in this situation.
