  I have a Nikon D3000 I was shooting in raw and using lightroom 3 for about 3 or 4 months, he has always worked very well, but today when I tried to download some pictures, he said that he could not read the files.   Connect photo/card reader to your computer and drag image files into a temporary folder (or your desktop).

  A cable/card reader/port can go wrong from one hour to the next, so you have to find the root of your problem using any other material.

  You need to update to the latest version of LR, version 6.5, if the stand-alone version, or the 2015.5 for CC. What version 6 do you have?

  The D800 has been supported since Lightroom 4.1.

  You use an earlier version of the Nikon software to transfer files from camera to computer? Older versions are known to make Raw files unreadable by Adobe software.

  Try to download a version update of Nikon. Or use a different card for example reader method.

  I'm not an apple person.  I read on a few different forums that apple has changed what is called 'writing' in a recent update to apple.  You may need to find an Apple expert to show you how to make sure you are allowed to write to files or locations on your computer.

  The Olympus Stylus 1 was first supported Camera 8.3 crude which is compatible with the CS6 and CC.

  It is not compatible with CS5 or more and never will be.

  If you do not upgrade to CS6 or CC, then you can dwonload the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all Stylus 1 Raw files to DNG, and then edit the DNG in CS5.

  I finally answered my own question... with help with the IT quy I live with that.

  Looks like I deleted somehow the link to the file where imports my test lived. When I chose a new place to direct my imports it worked very well. Then, user error and I don't really know what I've done, but at least I know that works import and I just need to understand my filing system by paying attention to what I do as I learned this.
