Adobe PDF error - printing

I use Adobe Acrobat 8 on a Vista Ultimate PC.

When I print a document in PDF format, the box of the printer has the followiung inside:

Status: Error - printing

It shows that it prints to COM1. Should I change?

See attachment

I can't confirm exactly the settings of Vista. But it is the port under XP settings.

This is fort Acrobat 9, but I guess that Acrobat 8 should be similar.

On behalf of Adobe, no version of Acrobat before 8.1 is completely installable or useable on any version of Windows beyond Windows XP. There are fundamental differences in the way that the Adobe PDF printer is installed and accessible on later (1) Windows Vista and/or (2) 64 - bit versions of Windows. In addition, Acrobat 7 coordinates with all recent versions of all Microsoft Office applications. You need Acrobat DC licenses at this stage.

    Thank you for your help

    Hi markusa57,

You could try to mention below as follows:

1 check if there is an update available for Acrobat, launch Acrobat > go to the Help menu > then select check updates.

    2. If that doesn't work, try to remove the printer Adobe PDF under control panel and then add it again. Go to control panel > select devices and printers > under printers > select Adobe PDF > right-click on it and select Remove the instrument. To manually add the Adobe PDF printer, visit this link:install PDF printer manually.

3-If this does not work, try to repair the installation of Acrobat under Help menu > select repair installation.

Could you please let me know the version of Acrobat installed on the machines DC?

  • Download Adobe pdf converter printer

    Hi people,
When you try to print a document in pdf format, the 'pdf converter' printer disappeared form the print options. Does anyone know how to restore or where to download them from? Is it a tool included in Windows 7 or in any other free Adobe product? The fact is that I was used to print office in pdf documents and suddenly he disappeared from my computer and I don't know how to get it back.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I see that you have not found the pdf print option while you try to print a document.

You are able to locate Adobe in Control Panel, in Add / Remove programs?

    Method 1:

If so, try to uninstall and reinstall to check if it works very well.

    Uninstall or change a program

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/uninstall-or-change-a-program

    Method 2:

If not, try the same download from the Adobe Web site:

If the problem persists, contact Adobe for assistance:

  • "error on adobe pdf printing.

    Hi all

I have a new installation of Acrobat DC (15.006.30097) on a new installation (not an upgrade) Windows 10 64-bit (Intel i7, SSD, 8 GB of memory). Creating PDFs using the menus in Word / Excel / PPT works perfectly.  However, while the creation of PDFs by printing to 'Adobe PDF' created successfully the resulting pdf file, a pop-up "on Adobe PDF print error" appears and the document remains in the print Adobe PDF queue.  So after every pdf I created by printing to the Adobe PDF format, I need to manually clear the Adobe PDF document print queue.

Word of welcome from thoughts and thanks.

    Hi AndyNils,

Open Acrobat DC, go to the Help menu and repair the installation.

  • Unable to print through 'Adobe PDF' from a 'Secure' PDF

    Hi guys,.

First, let's define the password for the PDF file with the setting below:

    AdobeProXI_1.jpg

Then, the documents will go to the junior to proceed, when they try to print documents through Adobe PDF for some pages, impossible to do with the error below:

Possible advice any solution for this?

    (1) confirming the previous answer than if you print to Adobe PDF, PostScript printer driver instance, in fact it will fail. It is built-in to Acrobat Distiller functionality to prevent the free removal of security on a PDF file.

    (2) there are very good reasons for securing financial documents. In simple terms, a nonsecure reception or a financial document can be too easily changed for criminal purposes. For example, a non-profit, I worked with that was scammed on a bit of funds by a staff member who changed bills of credit card incoming mask of embezzling funds in PDF format. This protection has its drawbacks, but at least you don't need to worry about the integrity of the content.

I don't think that the AA7 driver will work in an x 64 system. AA8 even has problems and I heard only one person claiming success. However, if you can't allow an AAXI upgrade at this point, here's a possible solution:

Install a PostScript driver and call it Adobe PDF for now. Set the port to the FILE. This problem of name and the file is important if you want a chance to use PDF Maker on the system. It might be possible to establish a control record in Distiller, but I have not tried. Otherwise, simply open the file in Distiller to obtain the PDF file. I have no idea if it will work with AA7 on an x 64 system. On a 32-System x, I did it with AA5. The real problem is the 64-bit system.

You will have no choice but to upgrade to retain the functionality of Acrobat. In fact, AA7 can not eligible for an upgrade (you can check on Adobe Store).

  • Print to Adobe PDF format generates the PDF, but also generates an error entry in the print queue

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition and Adobe Acrobar 8.
Whenever I print a document in PDF format, the PDF document is generated correctly.
Unfortunately, it also generates an error entry in the Adobe PDF print queue. At each system restart Windows Live One Care detects errors and ask me to fix.

    Hello Pino Sannicolo,

Try to check your print to the printer settings. Right-click on the printer, and then click Properties. Click the Advanced tab and then click on "print directly to printer". Dave D

  • Blue screen error when you try to print Adobe PDF files

Original title: the computer crashes when I try to print Adobe PDF files.

I unintalled and reinstalled remains 9.3.3 and it still won't print. The OS crashes when you try to print a .pdf file. I can open the document and view the file but not print, just the blue screen and restarts. I opened a word document, print and print text files. It will print anything but Adobe files. Is there any help out there?

    HonoriusIII

Thank you for your support and help Sicard. I finally got to the last version of Adobe as the culprit. It seems that the latest version 9.3.3 was causing problems. I uninstalled the software, cleaned the registry and other remains and installed the various editions of Adobe. Seems that Vista likes only one software version which proved Adobe 8.0. Once I installed the software, found a few .pdf documents and tried to print. Not only did it print well, it was very fast. Of all the places to find the 8.0 Adobe has been installed on my recovery disks. I don't think Microsoft product (s) are the root cause. Something in Adobe was the cause of the crash. I have the error message has not write against accidents, but it dumped memory and restart is fine, no conflict of driver. Only thing I did after each accident was to defragment. the hard drive and RAM by using certain tools. Vista ran fine since. I know a lot of people out there do not like Vista, but I did have a lot of problems with the software. I found problems with other types of competing software and work with software developers using their products in beta. The crash of the problems were not these beta products. I believe in keeping software simple and effective, it seems that Adobe will conversely making it too complicated software and an application's entire concept.

    Thanks for you help,

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extender. When I try to convert a Word file to PDF that says that it cannot find the drivers from the Adobe PDF printer and reinstall Adobe Acrobat 9.0. In addition, when I open just the program Acrobat 9 Pro Extender an error message comes up saying that a part of the Capture 3D plugin has been damaged. I went to customer service and they sent me here. Please tell me that this is not another race. I'm running out of patience! I have 10 window.

You need to upgrade to Acrobat DC.

  • How can I export my book in Adobe PDF format without it abandoned with a message "printing error"?

I use Adobe InDesign CC 2015 on Windows 7 and a book with several chapters, each chapter being a separate document. Several attempts to export the book to Adobe PDF failed with the following statement:

"Printing error: Adobe Print Engine failed at the end of your data due to an unknown problem."

When I run the command 'Package book for print', it shows that there are some fonts and missing images. However, as far as I know, I replaced all the missing fonts and I'm unable to see all missing fonts or images on the computer screen. Person documents in the book export to Adobe PDF with no problems, but the book does not print as a whole, affecting the table of contents and the page numbering (e.g. Roman in the front-end vs Hindu-Arabic in the rest of the book). I'm frustrated because InDesign doesn't tell me what the problem is. I'd appreciate any help in this regard.

No, I wasn't trying to PRINT to PDF. I tried to export the book in PDF format in following file > export... and then click on PDF for output. That did not work. However, I just realized that I can export the book by clicking on the small arrow in the upper right corner of the menu that shows all the documents in my book (I don't know how it's called). From there on, I chose "export book to PDF...". "and voila! It worked.

  • Try to reinstall using "setup.exe" in the setting of 64-bit Adobe PDF printing error?

Greetings.  I found the following solution to my problem in the Adobe forums:

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Creative-Suite/KB/error-file-adobepdf-DLL-needed.html

    The text is:

Manually extract the 'adobepdf.dll_64' of the file data1.cab file before installing Acrobat. When the prompt appears, navigate to this file and select it.

    1. Navigate to the folder that contains the file setup.exe to your installation of Acrobat 8.
    2. Locate the file "data1.cab" and open it (sometimes it takes a third-party compression utility, such as WinZip, to extract the file).
    3. Inside the content list, locate the file "adobepdf.dll_64" and copy it to your desktop.
    4. Run the program setup.exe installation and when the prompt appears, select Browse and select the file that you copied to the desktop.

Incredibly, my problem starts to #4.  How to run the installer?  I found both the command prompt and running the feature in the menu start (Yes, Windows 8, KMN).  Could not get one of them to run the installer, and I can't seem to find the .exe file in the directory.  Any help is much appreciated, thank you!

The problem may be related to trying to install AA8 on Win8. You may, or may not be successful, or the entirely less successful. The first thing after installation is to open Acrobat and go to help > updates and install all updates (in the order if more than one appears, and repeat until no updates are displayed). You can also install the updates manually in the order using http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows.

There is a good chance with AA8 that the printer driver is not installed. If this is the case, find a good color PS for a HP or other print driver PS printer. Install and change the name of the Adobe PDF printer. Check the ports - if an Adobe PDF port is present, select it and if not to change the port to the FILE.

You should be able to print to the PDF printer to get a PS file. Open the file (the extension can be PRN) in Distiller to obtain a PDF file.

The alternative is to buy the latest version of Acrobat (XI).
