  I am writing on this forum to ask for help. a few days a go I'm headache with my Lightroom 5.7 software. When I import an image for editing it alert message above. So I can't do anything with any image for my work it is so boring. I read several forum they talk about disk utility to repair the permission and set the folder to permission I try all these but I still can't fix it. can someone explain to me the detail on this kind of issue. and I really thank you for those who can solve this problem.

  Updated to the latest version of CC - everything worked as expected for a couple of days - earlier this afternoon LR began (and continues) to plant. "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has stopped working" error - I followed different bits of support instructions - uninstall - reinstall - signature and return - downloaded and committed "Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool" - now, a few hours later, the problem has not been resolved - I need to go back to my project. Unfortunately, I even followed the thread that requested to uninstall the previous 5.7.1 version.

  Just out of curiosity, what happens if you disable GPU usage in the 'performance' of the Preferences dialog box tab?

  I just reset my pc following the failure of Windows 10. I reinstalled all my programs downloaded, including Lightroom.

I also reinstalled but I still get the same error message no matter what I do. I tried the demo version of CC of LR and Photoshop and wonder if there is some kind of conflict, although I have uninstalled these before implementing the stand-alone version. Please help as worked on it during the day.

  In the last two weeks, I installed Lightroom (current version: 5.7.1) on a new All-In-One(Model No. 27-p014) HP Envy 2734 with Windows 10.

  It worked fine until today, when all of a sudden, when I tried to import a recent work, I got the above message. After several tests (and failures), I thought using the system restore and reset the unit to the settings of this morning, thinking the problem might be related to an update from HP that I had downloaded all that little before import (improved performance .NET Application - CPS).

  Sir, I just uninstalled the program and installed it again and my version of lightroom just changed to 2015.5.1 but others still facing this problem and I personally think that this is not a good way to solve this problem, nobody don't want to redownload the entire program for this.   I'm not an apple person.  I read on a few different forums that apple has changed what is called 'writing' in a recent update to apple.  You may need to find an Apple expert to show you how to make sure you are allowed to write to files or locations on your computer.
