  Whenever I try to download a copy of Adobe Reader XI on the Adobe website, website only provides Reader X version (even if the Google cache shows XI). I could find the full download for version X 1 here (Adobe - Adobe Reader: for Windows), but the .zip file extracted all files - extract the data1.cab file in the new folder, and so when I click on Setup.exe, Adobe Reader X 1 will not be installed. I uninstalled all old versions of the player and used a tool Adobe "cleaner", which did not all versions of reader on my computer.

  I can't find a version of the player anywhere else on the web site of Adobe - X 1 miss me something? Why must I go through so much trouble to get this 'new' version?

  The download site checks your operating system and make only of the versions available that are compatible with your operating system.  For example

  • Reader XI is not certified for Windows Vista; the latest version is Reader X
  • new versions of reader are certified is no longer for Windows XP; the latest versions are 10.1.10 and 11.0.08

  What can I do if I can't read that the key is for Windows because of the part of the key on the sticker has rubbed off and must be re-installed Windows?  The product ID is located under the control panel > system maintenance > system > Windows Activation of a useful?  I don't want to end up with a Clipboard after that reinstalling Windows because I have a legitimate copy of Windows, but the key became disfigured over time, since it's on the bottom of the laptop.  I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2 running on a Dell Inspiron it's way outside the guarantee of its window.

  If you have a product key on a sticker in your computer, this means that you have an OEM product key. If you have OEM keys, this means that the windows you have here is preinstalled.

  If you reinstall windows OEM copy, you must use either the original manufacturer recovery disk or the recovery partition. If you use one of the people, should not be put to any start-up because the windows OEM versions are technically preactivated.

  If you don't have a disc or a recovery partition, you can contact your OEM (DELL) so that they can send you a disk. Alternatively, you can contact Microsoft Support just in case. : D

• I can't install Adobe Reader 10.1.04 on my Windows Vista computer

  I was unable to install Adobe Reader on my laptop Toshiba 32-bit of Windows Vista (SP1) and it would be really grateful for the help.

  Here is the error message I get:

  Error 1402. Could not open key: UNKNOWN\.api\AcroExch.Plugin\ShellNew. Check that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support team.

  Here is a brief history of what I tried already:

  # 1 AdbeRdr1014_en_US.exe downloaded as stand-alone file several times from different servers and sites.

  # 2 uninstalled Adobe Reader 9.0

  # 3 Ran AdbeArCleaner.exe several times to remove ANY version of Acrobat or Reader perious.

  # 4 open each of my 4 browsers, the latest version of IE, Opera, Firefox and Chrome, looked for Plugins or Add Ons and deleted ALL associated Adobe apps except Flash.

  # 5 Open Control Panel, programs, versions searched and deleted ALL of Acro fast player or quick recorder.

  # 6 Ran Norton Utilities Registry Clean several times.

  # 7 when you try to install the 10.1.04 drive I had ALREADY received this error message:

  Error 1402.Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\AcroExch.Document\Shell\Open\Command. Check that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support team.

  However, after using the cleaning of Adobe tool, I had is no longer this error.

  No, not with Adobe Reader.   In fact, the Acrobat cleaning tool should have taken care of that.  But it's a question that I see from time to time in the forum of Flash Player.  Unfortunately this installer doesn't tell us what key is the origin of the problem.

  SubInACL:
