  • My guest of "Adobe Reader Update" is real?

Hi all, I'm new to these forums so please forgive me if my question is something that has already been written on the subject and replied.  My wife pointed out an article she read, update the concers of security implemented on the fraudsters using fake Adobe Reader.  Our computer recently prompted us to an update of Adobe Reader, and we try to do not click anything that we are uncertain, without doing research.  She bought and setting up our computer and I frankly didn't not even we had an Adobe Reader.  How can I check that my Adobe Reader Update and I guess my Adobe Reader software is real/authentic and not a scam?

Thanks for any help that anyone can provide,

    Kreagen

You can't see which ran in the past.

Open Adobe Reader (from the desktop icon), and then click Help. On Adobe Reader - that should tell you what exact version you have.  If it's 9.3.3 then you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed.

  • Error 1402 when software adobe reader update

Hi can anyone help, I've had recent requests to update my adobe reader software, but when I try, I get an error 1402. That said its looking for what follows in my registry but can't find: ib hkey-local-machine-32\software\classes\clsid\{c523f39f-9c83-11d3-9094-00104bdod535}\typel

I have the record, but only as hkey-local-machine, I don't have a machine-32 in my registry, so I guess that it won't be able to find. Any ideas people?

OS is windows 7 64-bit, the rest of my machine works fine

    Thank you very much

    Paul Matthews

    Hi paulm29491944,

The key to registry in question is here, just with a different name.

On a 64-bit computer, is translated into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE32\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Classes\CLSID.

Try to install the drive as an administrator - setup the drive right click and select run as administrator and check if Reader install without any problems. If this does not work, try the following:

1 - Hold down the Windows and R key on your keyboard > This will launch the dialog box run > type regedit, and then press ENTER.

2 back up your registry current file - in the Registry Editor dialog box, click file > export.

3 - Type a name for the file and choose a location for the export range, select all > click Save.

    4 - under the heading register > expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node.

    5 hold down the CTRL key and press F > type c523f39f - 9 83 c and press ENTER.

6 - Select the parent key, right click and then select permissions.

    7. choose Group administrators and verify that the full control is selected under the column allow.

8 - Select the system group and verify that full control is selected under the column allow.

    9. in the permissions dialog box, click Advanced.

10 - click on the owner tab and select the Administrators group and the option replace the owner of subcontainers and objects and click apply > OK.

Select the current administrator account if the Administrators group is not available.

11 - click Permissions tab and select the option replace all child object permissions with..., then click apply > OK.

Close the registry editor and try to install the player.

Let us know if it worked.

    Thank you

  • Adobe Reader update scheduled task? Is this Normal?

Hello, I started my computer today and as I usually do, I checked my startup items. Adobe Reader and Acrobat Update Manager has been removed from the list. I was confused and after the reboot to see if that fixes it, checked again. Went again. The research, apparently a "Adobe Refresh Manager" with the number of version 1.8.0 has been installed or something. Or at least configured. Check with CCleaner, I looked up from the Startup tab... the Windows tab remained empty from the entrance of Adobe. However check the section of the scheduled task, I found an entry for the update here for some reason any.

Is this a new feature? Did update the Updater itself and grown from a startup to a scheduled task item? I'm a little worried that something is wrong with my computer. For the record, my Adobe Acrobat had already updated December 9 11.0.10.
    Is this normal now?

I am running Windows 8.1 32 bit btw.

Yes, Acrobat and Reader Updater automatically updates itself with the latest version. There is nothing to worry about. Moving to the Scheduler of tasks done checks more predictable updates. Remove the Run key launch improves the system startup. You can probably find other updaters as well in the Task Scheduler, such as Google, Windows itself, Adobe Flash, etc...

  • Adobe reader update (may not be updated)

I installed Adobe Reader XI 11.0.04 09/10/2013.  If I restore my computer to 09/09/2013 or before Adobe Reader will disappear.  I can't use the way it is now.  Computer won't let me update, pop up says update failed.  Reason is a four digit number.

This can also help.  When I go into Control Panel to remove Adobe, (I would then try to reinstall) a pop up according to can not remove Adobe Reader, this patch can not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the valid windows installer.  I don't know how to do this.

  • Adobe Reader updates day and Flash Plugin to drive.

I was surprised to discover that the updates to Adobe Reader and Flash Plugin for Adobe Reader cannot be installed on Windows 7 without administrator rights!

I remember, on Windows XP, that it wasn't a problem. I'm sure I checked the option to install Adobe Flash Plugin for Adobe Reader on Windows XP without administrator rights and it worked...

Now, we have a major problem...

I have prepared some Adobe PDF portfolio for a new policy for housing loan and deployed it is opened in a Web browser. According to my tests, he worked very nice, and loved the business user. On Windows XP, if the flash player plugin is not installed, the user will be guided to install it and it works fine.

Just before sending the announcement to all users, we have made on Windows 7, if the flash player plugin is not installed, then when the user clicks the link to open the Briefcase, and then nothing happens. The browser window opens, and it crashes.

Then we found that on Windows 7 to manually install the Plugin of Flash Reader, and in addition, the user must have Admin rights...

Now, a decision was made to cancel the work done using the PDF portfolio and develop a simple page with links to documents...

    Any solution for this?

How can we install the needed plugin without Admin right?

Why on Windows 7, the user does not receive the prompts to guide to install the Flash Plugin from Adobe Reader?

    Tarek.

No, there is an Installer separated for the XI Acrobat family Flash element - have installed Web plugin is not relevant.

Check out my blog for more details

You cannot pre-install the plugin Flash Player via the Adobe Reader business tools, it should be pulled from the Adobe Web site and installed manually. There is no equivalent to the agreement of redistribution of Adobe Reader for the Acrobat Flash Player plugin, and of course if it was distributed on CD or via a corporate intranet, normal users couldn't run anyway.

  • I have install a LEGIT Adobe Reader update? Or a Trojan horse?

There is an icon at the bottom of my screen for days and finally, I clicked it to "install update Adobe Reader". It took some time (several minutes - 10 maybe?) and I saw some things that worry. During the process, he says things like "erasing registry", etc. However, everything about the update until I clicked to 'install' seemed legitimate. It was only later that I found a few articles on a Trojan virus disguised as an Adobe update... but many of these items were dated in 2009 and 2010. The only thing I've seen to date of 2012 (10/01/2012) said this virus is only a concern for version 4. I have version 9. I would be terrified (as I am now)... or was it an update of the LEGITIMATE Adobe Reader?

    Help!

No doubt, it was perfectly normal. Acrobat / Reader auto-updater works very well in this way - it uninstall everything and then combine archive installation on the drive with the new files. Anyway, you can see the history of update to Acrobat / Reader about / check the screen updates. If the update is in the list with the correct date, you can assume that everything is as it should be...

  • Adobe Reader updated to date?

I have Adobe Reader and trying of the documents that were sent to me. A got a pop upfrom adobe telling me my system/drive was out of date and I couldn't open the documents with him, and I had to download Adobe Acrobat DC. I did and it is fantastic, but now they say I have to buy for $200! Does anyone have experience with this?

It seems that you have downloaded the right product. You don't want Adobe Acrobat. You want Adobe Acrobat Reader (free product).

Uninstall Acrobat and install the reader from here: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC install for all versions

  • How is it that when I try to download a file from a web site, I get this message: Adobe Reader update and I'm unable to download the file?

How can I overcome the Abobe Reader message whenever I try to download a file from a web site: Adobe Reader outdated! Subsequently, I am unable to download and print the file

You do not give us the exact words, but I guess that this message appears on the screen, like on a regular PDF with this message. If so, ignore the message and save the file in the usual way on your desktop. Now open in Adobe Reader.

  • Adobe Reader updater - download Reader script error does not occur

When you access a web page that tries to view a document PDF, Firefox said my plugin needs to be updated and proposes to do. I download the update and run it and it comes up with a dialog box with the information below. Interestingly, even if I'm under Firefox, the dialog box is "Error in Script Internet Explorer" box. Note, I still can't view the PDF document by closing the notification bar of Firefox that should be updated my plugin.

  • Update Windows XP Pro/Adobe Reader fail/error 1601

Problem started with the pop-up box 'Windows Installer' TrayApp.msi, ScannerCopy.msi, error 1601. Computer works fine, the printer works fine. Adobe Reader update installation failure. Worried about the security updates. Set to "automatic updates" everyday. Printer installation has been done since the HP Web site. Can you help me? English plain please. Not a developer.

    English plain please.

"Plain English", specifically including complete sentences, is also useful when you ask questions.  You must also specify the version of Windows you have, including the Service Pack (click right my computer and select Properties, if you do not know).

Whatever your printer works well has to do with the errors that you see?  If there is a problem with your printer, please include the brand (HP, I guess) and the model.

When this popup error happens (that is, which causes the error)?

Was the message itself, that you have received 'Windows install is not accessible.  Installation cannot continue because the Windows Installer is accessible.  Error 1601 "code?

If this is the error message you received, then:

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK).
In the black command prompt window, type the following lines and press ENTER after each line

    msiexec /unreg
    msiexec/regserver
    output

You shouldn't really have to restart the computer here, but do it anyway.

Do whatever it is that caused the error message.  Things work now?

If you want to install Adobe Reader, the current version is here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/ don't forget to uncheck the box to install McAfee Security Scan Plus.  You can be happier, however, with the software free FoxIt Reader, an application that is much less inflated to read pdf files.
